Villa Benedetta is a beautiful historic residence that has been for many years the beating heart of the Folonari family, a renowned name in the Italian wine panorama. Dating back to the early 1800, the villa is located at the center of the family’s agricultural holding that is currently producing excellent internationally known wines.
After a long and thorough renovation of the villa in 2014, the owners have decided to convert it into a vacation home considering its overall wonderful characteristics, elegance and charm. The spectacular typical Tuscan surroundings are perfect for excursions either on foot, on a bike or for horseback riding.
The park of the villa is immaculately kept and features furnished shade areas dedicated to just relaxing while enjoying the view on the stunning Tuscan landscape or al fresco dining (there is a new barbecue and a covered gazebo that sits up to 18 people).
The private swimming pool (size 40 x 16 feet) comes with a changing area, full bathroom with shower and a dedicated wi-fi internet connection.

At the Piazza Matteotti there is several excellent restaurants such as the Osteria Mangiando Mangiando, the Bottega del Moro or the Osteria del Chianti Classico as well as many other typical grocery stores, Artisan shops and the famous Antica Macelleria Falorni (a Tuscan butcher that has been in the same spot since 1729). Nearby the square there is also a furnished supermarket.

This villa surpassed all my expectations and was the height of our 2 week trip to Europe. Our group of 14 all loved staying at the Villa. It is a short drive to Greve, a great little town with shopping and restaurants. We were fortunate that our trip started during the Greve Wine festival and we all enjoyed that very much. The villa is huge and the bedrooms are enormous, all are master size except for 2 bedrooms (the smaller bedrooms also had plenty of room and had ensuite bathrooms). The villa and grounds are beautiful; even better than the photos. Our group of 14 all loved staying at the Villa. A few of us love to cook and we stayed in and cooked a few nights; the kitchen was well equipped; the dining room sat all of us very comfortably. Yolonda, the on-site caretaker was sweet and always willing to help.
If you are looking to stay in Chianti/Tuscany area, this is the place to stay; I hope to return in the near future
Wonderful service at the villa, great location to Florence and Siena, but the walk from town is up a very dusty steep hill! Overall I can't recommend this enough! Montrfioralle was a quick 15 min walk and lots of amazing picture opportunities. We enjoyed walks for 15 min to 6 hours during our time here.
Try context tours in Florence when you come - they were wonderful!
Wonderful family getaway. The property is tastefully done throughout and spacious enough for both large gatherings and private time.
Lolanda ( and jove) were great to have around. True tuscan special vacation with a stay here.
Villa Benedetta was the perfect place for a family holiday with our children and grandchildren. There were plenty of large, airy rooms where people could sit and chat and children could play safely. Great kitchen full of everything we needed. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated with high ceilings , comfortable beds, screened windows and air-conditioning. Bathrooms were modern and spacious. Carefully fenced-in swimming pool area where we spent most of our days since the weather was very hot. Beautiful terrace where we drank prosecco watching the sunset over the Tuscan hills. We ate dinner at a long table on the terrace most nights but enjoyed the elegant dining room too. Best of all the owner, Antonella, went out of her way to make us feel at home and the housekeeper Yolanda looked after us brilliantly - making beds, answering questions and recommending excellent restaurants within walking distance. Yolanda also helped prepare and serve delicious dinners with Anna the cook. This was the happiest holiday in the most beautiful setting in a perfect house. What more could anyone ask?
16 of us stayed at the villa with ages ranging from 20 month to 81 years old. We loved it and hope to return some day! The most important criteria for out rental was enough room for all with beautiful outdoor dining area large enough for all of us to be together. This villa was perfect for that! We cooked in the kitchen or outside on the wood burning grill each night and stayed outside on the patio until bedtime. The walk down the hill to the lovely town of Greve was certainly do-able for all but sometimes we called one of our group to come pick us up in the car for the trip back....The villa is in an excellent area for exploring Tuscany. If you need Wi-Fi check with the owner to make sure it is working properly as we had issues with it while we were there. Otherwise, prefect for us and we were sad to leave!
We are a family of 16 that stayed at the villa for two weeks with age ranges from 7-85 years old. Everyone was comfortable with their surroundings, and enjoyed the views. In addition, the staff, worked very hard to make sure that everything went well and the food prepared for us was wonderful. We would stay there again, just for the reasons mentioned. However there are other benefits. The location is central to exploring all of the wonderful towns in the surrounding area by car, yet Greve is close enough for the young to walk and the older to ride in just a few minutes. Antonella was a pleasure to work with and made sure that the little details, such as a wheel chair, were taken care. Oh, one more thing, I questioned if there were any wines that could be purchased and stored at the villa. Antonella, provided a list, we made the selections and they were excellent.
Thank you Antonella for everything. My family has priceless memories of our stay at Villa Benedetta.
