This beautiful, 2nd floor, loft space is located within a 1920's bungalow at 509 N. Clarendon St..
NOTE: This kottage is on the 2nd floor of Kara's personal residence in a quiet neighborhood and is located only 1.5 miles from the Downtown District.
*THIS IS NOT IN THE YELLOW HOUSE ON W. MAIN ST.
This space is newly renovated and includes a bedroom, bathroom and living room.
NOTE: This kottage does not have it's own, dedicated kitchen.
Guests have lots of privacy as they have a door that separates their private kottage from the rest of the house. Upon arrival, guests will enter into Kara's kitchen and then proceed through a solid core door leading up to their 2nd floor kottage.
This space includes 1 queen bed and 1 very comfortable pull-out twin sleeper. A total of 3 guests are comfortable here so long as they are okay with sharing a bedroom as all beds are in the same room.
The spacious bathroom offers a soaking, slipper tub, plus a subway tile shower enclosure, a rain shower head, double vanity and lots of warm lighting and colors.
Enjoy evenings gazing at the stars through 2 over sized skylights or watching television and movies on Netflix in this intimate living room on comfortable furnishings that include an electric fireplace and views of the mature tree tops.
Guests are welcome to use the outdoor space & fire pit located in the back yard off of the kitchen.
Although there isn't a kitchen in this kottage, complimentary breakfast goodies are provided and include Kierig coffee and assorted teas along with half and half, bottled water, organic granola, Kefir, almond milk, dried cranberries and breakfast bars, all located in the comfort of this space in a mini-fridge and breakfast cart.
A mini-bar is available and located in the door of the mini-fridge with an assortment of soft drinks, beer and wine. Only the mini-bar items are for sale and all other items are free to guests.
*THIS SPACE IS LOCATED WITHIN A RESIDENCE OF TWO ADULTS AND TWO CATS WHOM RESIDE ON THE FIRST FLOOR OF THE HOUSE.

Kara is a Michigan native with an appreciation for nature, a passion for good design and a love for historic homes. She moved to Kalamazoo from the shores of Lake Michigan in 1990 to attend college. She remained in Kalamazoo because of it's youthful energy, amazing people and an up and coming direction which has since been realized. When she's not combing the earth for treasures to use in her kottages and working on DIY projects, she's often found running, cross country skiing, biking, kayaking and traveling.

What you will enjoy most about each Kottage is the attention to detail, gorgeous design and little extras. This home reflects my vast experience, healthy outlook, connection to nature and strong work ethic.

We rented all of Kara's available places for our family and wedding party the weekend of our wedding. Everyone RAVED about the places! The beds were super comfortable, the places were charming and the amenities available were perfect! My bridesmaids and I are already trying to think of another reason to rent them out. We highly recommend any of the units. Kara was also VERY helpful to me when setting up and booking the weekend. GREAT stay, if I didn't live in Kalamazoo already, I would rent from her whenever I came to town.
