Yankeetown is a charming Coastal Village on the north west coast of Florida. Known for its tree lined streets, quiet lifestyle and 'Outstanding Florida Waterway', the Withlacoochee River, Yankeetown is home to approximately 502 residents. This deep water property is only 3 properties from the Withlacoochee River with direct access to the Gulf of Mexico. Great wildlife viewing area. Great fishing and boating. **NO SMOKING IN HOUSE** Must be 25 or older to rent our property.
We had the nicest time staying at this home! You feel like you're in Old Florida with the canal in back, the beautiful shade trees all through Yankeetown. It was the most peaceful and quiet getaway. The home was clean and comfortable and offered everything we needed. Our little grandchildren came over during our stay and fished out of the canal in the backyard. In just seconds, they caught little fish and were just so happy and cute! We would highly recommend this beautiful little property for a relaxing and peaceful vacation!
The location and the house was perfect for a family getaway! We had a great time scalloping and we enjoyed the ambiance of the river. Old Florida at it's best!
House had plenty of room. Nice dock and boat ramp close by at marina. The marina does not have fuel so you need to take boat out or bring gas cans. The half bath is nice but in laundry room on porch and has no AC. The only thing that I would highly recommend is new mattresses, they are very uncomfortable. Enjoyed our family scalloping trip.
We stayed for a long weekend and had a great time. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Great area for boating to get scallops or kayaking.
Perfect walking areas for the dog. We enjoyed the surrounding areas for hiking and geocaching
The orange tree was in full bloom..lovely fragrance.
The house accommodations were comfortable and the sun rose every morning. Into the living room. Could have used brighter reading lights. Thanks
Rating as a five because this was nothing fancy but everything we wanted, including or pets. The house was fully equipped, clean, and neighborhood was extremely quiet. Close enough to Crystal River and other attractions. Small plumbing problem was brought to our attention before we arrived and was fixed in a timely manner. Would stay here again.
Yankeetown Florida and the Nature Coast are natural wonders. The Indiana politician and lawyer, Armanis F.Knotts who lived in Yankeetown, Indiana founded Yankeetown, Florida in 1923. He came to Yankeetown FL because of his desire and love of hunting and the outdoors.
Yankeetown is a short drive to Dunnellon, Crystal River, Homosassa, Ocala, Rainbow Springs, Fanning Springs and Three Sisters Springs. With Disney, Daytona, Championship Golf Courses, and other attractions so close, you may not want to leave!!
Yankeetown has some of the best Saltwater and Freshwater fishing found anywhere in the state of Florida.
If your idea of fun on the water is swimming with Manatees, scalloping, canoeing, kayaking, boating, diving, or bird watching the Nature Coast is the perfect place to plan a vacation.
