This house is built for outdoor cooking enthusiasts. What better time to craft a beautiful meal from scratch, one that may have taken hours to create, then when you're on vacation? Only problem with that: most vacation rentals are more about the region & the house/bedrooms, and less about on-site cooking amenities. This house sleeps 8, and has been totally remodeled with reclaimed materials, wide-plank hardwood floors, leather sofas, stainless appliances, butcher block counters, and more - but the real amenities in this experience are outdoors. 4 outdoor smokers, wood-fired grills, a pizza oven, 2 fire pits, commercial-grade stainless steel prep tables, and all the utensils/equipment/smoking woods, etc. that you need to craft your dream BBQ meal for your guests.
Everything about the place was great. We did a guys weekend and smoked a BUNCH of meat. The smoker is amazing and was a blast to use. The garage space was perfect for the one rainy evening we had. The house was perfect for a bunch of guys and the property was fantastic. We're already planning next trip and might even bring the wives and kids for the next one- it is family friendly, too.
What a fun place for a large group. My son got married in Beloit, and members of my family stayed there. The yard was amazing - horseshoes, bags, zip line, fire pit, large play set and large deck. And so many comfortable beds. Everything was provided - we only needed to bring food and drink. Large driveway for many cars. There was even a large bouquet of fresh flowers on the table.
Updated kitchen in a home with great outdoor space on the Rock River. On our arrival, the kitchen was poorly cleaned and the grilling utensils/area was also unclean but the owner was nice enough to refund our cleaning fee. We rented the home mostly for the BBQ equipment on the back deck. There is an ugly drum smoker and a large stationary rectangular smoker in addition to a few normal gas and charcoal grills. Both the smokers work well but the large one requires a significant amount of work to prepare. The owner, Jared, was available by phone to walk me through how to use it. We smoked ribs and pulled pork, which both came out great.
The house is in a great location with awesome outdoor space but I would not come solely for the BBQ equipment. Anyone with their own small-medium smoker will not get much additional benefit from his equipment.
One last complaint is that the house is promoted as a cooking mecca but the cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc are both outdated and cheap. I recommend he get rid of everything and replace them with one good set of utensils and a few good pots and pans.
Overall, a great summer weekend getaway house.
Spent the weekend at this home with friends and family. The house is very nice and has plenty of space and great amenities and decor. The home was not cleaned prior to our arrival. We were allowed to check in earlier than normal, but with many days’ notice. We did spend the first couple of hours cleaning counters, toilets, shower, and dishes since everything seemed to have been VERY used as if someone lives there, which is discerning for the amount of money we paid to stay here which included a cleaning fee, that quite obviously did not count for our stay, we cleaned before we left as well-it was disgusting! All of that aside, we had a wonderful time in the yard and decks. There was plenty of wood and BBQ supplies. It was more like a camping trip due to the cleanliness of the premises than a comfort stay, but overall experience wasn’t terrible after we cleaned. Great potential, and if guaranteed a clean stay, I would return for more family/friend gatherings!
if not counting busy intersection, the place is very nice. fishing amazing
The property is huge and part of the fun was just exploring it. The zip line and the lawn games were great features. The built in bar and grilling equipment made eating and drinking fun and easy. The house itself was made for big, tight-knit groups. We'd definitely go back.
