Fully equipped gourmet kitchen w/stainless steel appliances to prepare home cooked meals and close enough to downtown to walk to an abundance of restaurants. Enjoy lounging with a book or beverage in fenced backyard garden or take a stroll to the harbor to watch sunrise/sunset. Off kitchen find a dining room and mudroom with full size HE washer/dryer. The living room or front porch provide comfortable space for relaxing, reading, or watching movies. Our off street parking allows for easy access to property, which means you will not have to search for parking.

This property is often described as a Newport Gem that is a great summer home to gather fun memories or provide a warm retreat for winter relaxation. Why Cara Normandeau chose Newport - Aquidneck Island

While searching for a waterfront wedding venue in 2009, we found ourselves in Newport. We fell in love with the area, all the activities and outgoing, friendly people. We contacted a realtor, viewed many homes in the area and knew as soon as we crossed the threshold this was the house for us. We almost immediately decided we would retire to Newport hopefully sooner rather than later, but eventually. This house is our home away from home. We have been fortunate to have built many memories there in a relatively short period of time - during every season...

What makes this house unique

Close to everything. You can park your car in the driveway and walk to almost everywhere; yet still being able to relax in a quiet, comfortable home and yard.

Located in a residential community, just around the corner from the hot bed of activities on Thames Street, Broadway & Bellevue the main avenues in Newport. One block away is Wellington, the road to Ocean Drive. Also one block away is the Harbor and Kings Beach Park listen to live music 'in season' on Sunday afternoon or stroll along the path anytime of year to enjoy the scenery. Take a short drive to Fort Adams to walk or bike the grounds, watch the boats, picnic, fish, view sunset or tour the Fort; numerous festivals are held throughout the year here.

Continue driving on Ocean Drive to find Brenton Point State Park, a beautiful place capture photo opps. Circle around the point and turn down Bellevue to choose from any one of the numerous historical mansions to tour.

In the opposite direction toward Middletown, RI there are also Vineyards to tour and taste local wines. Various events are also held at Newport Vineyard,

Gem of a property

The house was extremely clean in in a really great location. A walk away from all of the happenings and great sunsets. Most items you'll need will be available for your use at the property. We ended up bringing many items we didn't need to since the cupboards are stocked. This was our first visit and will not be the last. Cara was great and super helpful with any questions we had. Great overall experience, the best so far with Home away.

Cozy, Comfortable and Perfect Location!!

This house was charming, comfortable, cozy and exceeded my expectations. The house was clean and had everything we needed. We only ate breakfast at home but the kitchen was stocked with tools and had plenty of space. The beds were super comfy which was an added benefit. We felt we were in the perfect location, walking distance to everything but still in a quiet area. Cara answered all of my questions. I would definitely stay here again if we go back to Newport.

Loved it!

We loved the house and its location. The backyard was wonderful for sitting outside with the pups and enjoying the morning and evenings. The kitchen and laundry room are great, and I appreciated the laundry detergent. The house is a nice size and very comfortable. I thought it had cable TV -- it doesn't, but we didn't miss it too much. The upstairs bath is great - large, with lots of counter space. It would be even better with a larger shower. I preferred the one downstairs (having two full baths is terrific!). I'd love a king size bed instead of a queen, (but that's just me) and upgraded beds in the 2nd bedroom would be nicer too. Adorable Cottage

My husband and I had a great time and left with wonderful memories of our time with my parents! This was an adorable cottage and a fantastic location! Very walkable and we loved bringing our dog to the nearby park every day. Because we walked almost everywhere, the off street parking that easily accommodated two cars was a huge bonus. The only negative would be that my parents missed watching the news on a daily basis, other than that I would definitely recommend this rental. Also the next door neighbor/caretaker was very nice and attentive, although we didn't need a thing.

Lovely & Charming Home in Downtown Newport

We recently stayed at the vacation home this summer in June. The place is well kept and clean and has all the amenities you'll need. Big Yard and Driveway. It's close to all the shops, restaurants and beaches. Great Location! We hope to stay there again next year. Thanks again Cara for your hospitality and service.
