Our cities governors have found that this time frame allows for a more peaceful experience for guests, as well as for our neighbors on this great little island. Staying longer also allows you to fall deeper in love with Key West and become part of the family! 😊💚
Now for the fun part-
In a great location,nestled underneath a Spanish lime tree is the Sunset Retreat. This old home, with the appearance of a sea captains landlocked sanctuary, waits for you. Whether it be vacation,business(hopefully not),or a jumping off point for relocation to our slice of happiness, this property will give you a feeling for the colorful and sweet nature of the Key West lifestyle as well as the local residents(Conchs by nickname)
After parking you car in your dedicated spot, it's time to start your journey down a small path,behind a locked gate, to your door to happiness. The Sunset Retreat boasts two bedrooms with baths on suite. Up a quaint spiral stair is the master bedroom and second bedroom is located on the main floor. Each Bedroom has large closets,queen beds,25 inch TVs,charming island decor. A fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher and washer/dryer. The cozy living area has a queen pull out couch and a forty inch flat screen. There is a patio to the rear with bbq and conversation space for chatting the night away. Outside of this properties great location, I would have to say I was intent on keeping affordability in mind so the average traveler or extended corporate guest could have a great spot to lay their head and have a chance at the experience that is Key West.
I came to Key West 6yrs ago to love what I do and love where I live. I restore these old homes and protect the history that they contain. Its not the worst thing to see palm trees out your window when you wake up in the morning.

Great location, walk away from the restaurants and beach. Very quiet home on a residential street, as a added bonus has a parking right outside. I'm really happy with the choice we made. We got our rest in a quiet place away from the crowd and spend our days diving, snorkeling and relaxing while reading Hemingway's "Movable Feast" - a special copy from his home across the street.
Highly recommended for people who don't like crowded hotels.
We were pleased with the space in the 2 bedrooms with attached bathrooms, as well as generous closet space. We never pulled out the sleeper sofa, which would have occupied the entire living area. Kitchen and dinette small but useable. The back patio which is included is private and shaded, with a functional gas grill. If you are hoping to get some sun, you won't find it at this property, but the beach is a ten minute walk with chairs and beach towels which were provided. Washer/dryer a nice perk here. The two bedroom window AC units worked fine when outdoor temps reached 80 in November, but I could imagine the kitchen getting hot if you did much cooking, or in mid-summer. We walked comfortably to the Southernmost Point, Mallory Square, and Fort Zachary Taylor. We even walked to the remote car rental north of the airport, but would recommend the Key West Transit bus ($2!) to and from the airport. The green line stop is two short blocks away by the Blue Macaw. Very comfortable for 4 guests, especially 2 couples. We were able to text the owner with a question and received a prompt reply. Just a note, the charming front porch with rockers belongs to the front unit!
This is a comfortable unit and a good value. As a couple traveling with a single person, we especially liked the two bedrooms with separate baths. Cliff was quick to respond to a minor problem.
We had a great time staying at Julia's Retreat. It was the perfect location for us as it was on the "quieter" end of Duval St. The back patio area was very quiet and private. Cliff was very nice and accommodating when we asked if we could check-in and hour early. We will definitely return.
This great little spot is located on a quiet,one way street, just steps from the energy of Duval St. and a short walk to sun and surf of South Beach. The Key West Light House,Hemmingways House,Southern Most Point,Butterfly Conservatory,Gallery .District,Trolley stop and countless tasty restaurants are within 2 blocks of this great old home. A good nights sleep for recharging is a must and this is the spot for it,very quiet but right in the middle of the fun and culture
