About the property

EAGLE HOUSE is perched over the river Guadalete and located inside the Monumental TOwn of Arcos de la Frontera.

Inside you could enjoy a big seating room with open fire for winter and great views over the lake, the landscape and Sierra de Grazalema.

Besides you will find a huge kitchen prepare with all the apliances and a table with enough room for eight people.

Upstairs are two double bedrooms, one ensuit, a shower bathroom and the fifth bed. There is also a big terrace where you can take your breakfast enjoying the views.

Outside the house and also with great views you will find two other terraces prepare for lunch or dinner.

In one of it you can find a small pool to refresh on hot days.

If your group is longer, we have a lovely apartment excaved in a cave, a few meters from this house where it can be accommodate others two people.

Spectacular View

This property has the most incredible views, with an eclectic, spacious interior. Definitely appropriate for two couples or a family. Arcos is a beautiful town-- be forewarned that the hills are incredible! Pop by The Bluebell for tapas from English chef, Tracey. Get lost on the tiny streets and come upon another fabulous view. Or, just sit on one the three terraces and look out over the Andalusian countryside. This house is magic! Thank you, Avelina, for always being available for questions, and attentive to our needs.

Home in the sky

We were two couples who spent five glorious nights in the Eagle House. This rental was perfect for sharing – the kitchen was extremely well equipped with everything one would need should you wish choose to prepare your own meals – we prepared all our breakfasts and a few suppers as well. And there is even enough room for those husbands who always seem to be under foot.

This property is built into a cliff overlooking the valley and fields beyond – the view is amazing. The home has several levels and outdoor living is emphasized through the availability of numerous patios – it was difficult to decide each day where we would enjoy our breakfast or morning coffee. In the evenings we would sit outside enjoying a bottle of wine and the mornings, enjoying a cup of coffee, planning our day’s adventures, while watching the sun rise over the mighty hills of the Sierra de Grazalema.

Both bedrooms were on the second floor separated by a large common room. Access to the top level balcony was available through either the master bedroom or common room – have I mentioned the view was amazing? The kitchen, dining room, living room (with two separate sitting areas) and powder room were situated on the main floor with outdoor access to the small pool and yet another patio. The pool was only large enough to enjoy a dip – very refreshing after touring all those bodegas each day, or after climbing all those steep streets in the towns we visited.

Avelina’s son was on hand to welcome us upon our arrival and took us on a tour of the home – the apartment was much larger than expected and availability of a secured parking garage nearby by an added bonus. The apartment is located a short walk from the main plaza – seems to be uphill both ways! – where you can find numerous restaurants and bars. Throughout the area there were numerous small corner “grocery” stores, but you can do your main shopping at the Co-Op store just outside of town. During our stay, we visited Jerez and its numerous bodegas, attended the horse show there, visited Cadiz, and finally completed a circular driving loop which included Ubrique (known for its leather shops), Grazalema via Benamahoma and Zahara.

A word of caution – do not drive through the old town like we did trying to find the apartment – ignore your GPS! Get detailed directions from Avelina and avoid the stress, although we laugh about is now.

Lovely home with spectacular views

We (4 adults) stayed here for a week in early April and we enjoyed all that the area has to offer. The property far exceeded our expectations with a wonderful outdoor living spaces, a well equipped kitchen, and easy walking access to the sights of Arcos. Off-road parking was a great amenity in a hill town with very narrow streets, and our hostess made us very welcome. We will certainly return in the future if we have the opportunity.

We loved our stay in Arcos!

Arcos is a wonderful small, ancient city. This is the side of the town you want to stay in. The view was amazing. There is everything you need here. Avelina and her son were very helpful and accommodating (easy to work with). We stayed here 4 nights and enjoyed day trips to Jerez, Sevilla and Ronda. We drove over the mountains of Grazamela to get to Ronda. That was a unplanned, beautful surprise! We ventured up the hill to the village at night. The local restaurants took good care of us, provided good and great company! Prices are amazing! Every morning, my husband and I would go down to the lower part of village for coffee with the locals. It was a fun way to begin the day. Enjoy your stay here!

Tolles Haus, aber nicht geeignet für Gehbehinderte

Wunderbare Ferien in einem sehr geschmackvoll eingerichteten Haus, dass wie ein Vogelhorst über einem steilen Abgrund schwebt. Wir waren zu zwei Paaren, was wir nicht empfehlen würden, da das zweite Schlafzimmer und das zweite Bad winzig sind und man seine Kleider kaum unterbringen kann. Als wir dies Avelina vortrugen, hatte sie gleich am nächsten Morgen einen Kleiderständer besorgt, der im Vorraum unsere Sachen aufnahm. Wir würden das Haus für max. drei Erwachsene oder für ein Paar mit zwei Kindern empfehlen. Man sollte auch bedenken, dass in jede Richtung man sehr sehr steile Strassen bewältigen muss - nichts für Gehbehinderte. Die drei Terassen sind auch nur über drei steile Treppen zu erreichen. Aber wen das nicht stört, der hat sein Traumhaus gefunden!

Owner's Response: A pesar de la puntuación que me ha dejado Gisela, 5/5, no será de las huéspedes que recuerde con cariño como han sido la mayoría para mi. Desde el momento de su llegada la vi un poco especial, estuvo a punto de provocarme un accidente de coche cuando volvía casa y me llamó con algo URGENTISIMO: su ropa no le cabía en el armario. Ante futuros huéspedes, agradezco la oportunidad que me brinda Homelidays para aclarar los distintos puntos. En las fotos publicadas se ve claramente que el dormitorio y el cuarto de ducha azul son sensiblemente más pequeños que el dormitorio y baño verde. Con lo cual sus armarios también son diferentes en cuanto a capacidad. De todas formas nunca he tenido la menor queja sobre falta de espacio, incluso teniendo a 5 o 6 huéspedes. Respecto a las terrazas, una de ellas está a nivel de los dormitorios. Otra hay que bajar diez escalones normales (para nada empinados) y la tercera, sí hay que bajar más escalones, lo siento pero no los he contado. En ningún momento se recomienda esta propiedad para discapacitados ni para gente mayor. Respecto a Arcos de la Frontera, es uno de los pueblos más visitados, no solo de Andalucía sino de España y uno de los principales encantos reside precisamente en sus callejuelas. Realmente siento mucho que no hayas disfrutado del encanto de Arcos de la Frontera ni de Casa el Aguila. Gracias Homelidays por permiterme dejar una respuesta

We love this house!

The house is as advertised: perched on the side of the cliff with a breathtaking view. Each bedroom is two twin beds shoved together, which is a shame but fairly normal in Europe. The kitchen was well appointed with all the basics, including salt/pepper, toilet paper, a shopping cart, cleaning supplies. Good washing machine. Cards, games, tv (although who needs it?).. everything was there. Avelina left coffee, tea, hot chocolate, spices, soaps (not shampoo, though) and a hairdryer. The house is perfect for getting to know the town of Arcos. We got good exercise walking up and down the hills each day. The trail by the river is wonderful and a perfect length for a morning walk. There is a nice little flamenco bar up the hill and everyone was friendly. The home is decorated with family photos, making it feel less like a rental than a friend's home. We had a car rented so we used Avelina's garage down the street, which was very helpful in a town that wasn't built for cars! Arcos is a great location for exploring the region and this home is perfect.
