About this property

COSY COTTAGE WITH REAL FIRE AND FABULOUS VIEWS IN CARMARTHENSHIRE, WALE

Gwendraeth View is a delightful former blacksmiths cottage, over 200years old situated in a pretty village with fabulous views of the Gwendraeth Fach overlooking Carmarthenshire and Garden of Wales. The cottage is full of character with flagstone and wooden floors, beams and an open fire. Sleeps 3 in total, 2 bedrooms, 1 double and 1 single, Lounge with open fire, dining table and chairs, TV. We have Wifi in Gwendraeth View cottage. There is a fully equipped quirky country kitchen, bathroom with shower over bath, central heating. The cottage has lots of interesting features and there are some low ceilings. There is an outdoor seating area to enjoy the views and bbq. I happily accept one well behaved dog for which there is a small charge and there are some gorgeous local dog walks. The cottage makes a fantastic touring base for Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. Convenient for Carmarthen (6 miles), Lllanelli (11 miles) and the Wales Coastal Path. We also have somewhere that you can lock up your bikes securely for cyclists. Owners live opposite the cottage and are on hand for any questions.

disapointed
the cottage itself was very nice but for a partially disabled person I found it cold and uncomfortable. the sofa was far to low and the chairs extremely hard even using a cushion.

Welsh bungalow
very nice bungalow but situated next to a busy (during the day) road and a lane - lovely views, cosy beds, ok walks up steep hills. Close enough to the National Botanical Garden of Wales which is huge and beautiful (we got a weekly ticket and went 3 times). TV worked well and the sofa was comfy to relax after hard days walking - bath was wonderful too.

About the host

Hosted by Heather

Host profile image
Hello My name is Heather and I have lived in Wales permanently since 2013 when I moved here with my husband Alun from Rugby, Warwickshire, England. We have always loved this part of the country and are now very happy to live here and hope that you will enjoy this beautiful part of the country in our lovely cottage, which is just over the road from where we live.

Why they chose this property

My husband Alun was originally born in South Wales and wanted to move back here, and I am from Leicester. I used to go to Pembrokeshire on holiday as a child, the next county to Carmarthen and I now have to pinch myself that this wonderful countryside is now on my doorstep. We both love the great outdoors and there is so much exploring to do here, walking, cycling, the beaches and Castles are all very close by.

What makes this property unique

Enjoy the stunning views from the balcony, double bedroom and kitchen of the Gwendraeth Fach and Carmarthenshire. There is a garden which also belongs to the cottage for quiet relaxation. You can also walk up the mountain, Myndd Llangyndeyrn and see 7 counties from the top and some ancient stone burial grounds.
