Very much as advertised. Clean and comfrtable and just the right size for our pack of three.

Just right for a weekend of peace. We watched deer from the deck, served dinner in the dining room and later spread out a giant puzzle on the table, and lounged in the living room by the fireplace in the evening. Long walks on the trails and through the neighborhood filled the days. Really, a supportive environment for decompressing. Thank you for the flexible dog policy. Tinkerbell enjoyed many naps on the deck.

Cozy and quiet

  • 5 of 5

My son, my parents, and I stayed here Jan 14-16. It rained all weekend but it was a nice, quiet little getaway. Very relaxing. We spent the majority of the weekend in front of the fireplace reading books and just relaxing. The house was really well equipped with everything that we needed. Linens, kitchen supplies, bathroom supplies that. We brought food and made a few meals. I would like to come back in the warmer months. It looks like there are quite a few fun things to do in the area.

Lovely Cottage - (if the weather is also lovely)

  • 3 of 5

This is a nice little cabin as others have described. And while freezing weather is rare in Texas, it does happen. This property is an un-insulated a-frame with lots of windows and doors that let the cold in. We were miserable and couldn't sleep because it was so cold. If indoor temps in the 50's are your comfort level, you will be fine but we had to find another place to stay for our second night. The owner offered to have someone look at the thermostat for us but that was not the problem and we are capable of telling the difference between cool and heat settings.

Also, the owner seemed oddly put out when I asked for location and access info 24 hours before our arrival. Informed me that I had already received that info. Altogether, we wish we had stayed somewhere else.

Owner's Response: I apologize that you had a negative experience, you are the first person since I have opened my home to visitors that has not given me the opportunity to fix an issue. Access directions are sent out in an email via an invite to the hospitality app to all propective tenants. It is sent out several weeks in advance. I was not "put out" by asking for access, I was just simply directing you to the app because of all the useful information contained in the app not just the access information. I then continued to give you your access information and told you to let me know if you needed anything else. The house is insulated and the windows are doubled paned windows that were just replaced earlier this year. I have an on call fulltime maintenance team and I am always prepared to take care of any issues my tenants may have in my home. After sending maintenance personnel to take a look at the heat issue it was found that the fireplace damper was left open therefore the heat was escaping through the chimney. It's a shame because if you would have stayed long enough for me to send my maintenance team over it would have been fixed in less than 5 minutes. Every resonable effort was made to resolve the situation so that the tenants could stay comfortably in the home.
