At this point we are sharing this house with our son and family thru May, so is not available for renting. It will be for sale this summer so will take reservations for three months at a time.
We were in the ministry for 23 years and needed to have a place to getaway from it all and relax. This quiet beach has served us well as we have spent many Sunday nights down here just soaking up the quiet.
Sandy McCann purchased this bungalow in 2000
Some mornings we could walk to the beach and look south to the Cape or north to Sandlake and not see a soul. The dogs also very much enjoy the beach with so few people that a leash is rarely needed.
The house needed lots of work when we first bought it. It doesn't even look like the same place. We have made it very comfortable for us and have for many years shared it with family and friends. It can be very windy at the beach some days, but in our yard we can't feel it blowing. One advantage over beach front property.
Lighthouse haven was an idyllic place to spend the weekend. Tucked nicely away in a quiet community, we enjoyed walks on the beach and being just removed from the busy crowds at Pacific City. We would stay here again in an instant.
My boyfriend and I stayed 4 nights/5 days and we enjoyed everyone of them. The owner was very helpful and accommodating with our stay. The beach is pretty close by too. Although you can't see the beach from the home you can open your windows and relax to the sound of the beach. The only problems we had was for two days straight a crew started excavating the yard across from us at 8am to put in a new septic tank (that's what it looked like). With the windows being open it woke us up both up. This was our only hang up, but of course that was definitely not in the owners hands it just happened to happen while we were staying there. Another was having to get up 7:30 on a Tuesday morning to be able to get ready to leave the bungalow by 9am for realtors to look at the house since its for sale. We were told after final payment a few days before our trip that we would need to vacate for a while so we did have a notice in advance. It was just inconvenient to wake at 730 on vacation. We were able to work it out and the Owner was very nice and even left us a gift certificate to a breakfast down the road for the inconvenience! Despite any hang ups we were very happy with our stay and I would recommend this place to anyone needing some were safe, cozy, and clean!
We had so much fun this past week at Tierra Del Mar! Lighthouse Haven is a very clean and accommodating little cabin. There were 3 of us and we had plenty of room...it has a nice open feel to it. Very close to the beach and its in a quiet little community of beach houses. We're looking forward to coming back next summer! Thanks for a great stay!
Great little house. We enjoyed it very much. It was clean and comfy. I would stay again. Short walk to beach and short drive to town. Really good value.
A perfect getaway for 4 or less people! The yard is huge and excellent for your furry family member as long as you take the time to put up the temporary fence closing the gap that opens up for the driveway.
Although there was no traditional outdoor grill for our Independence Day burgers, the indoor one worked suprisingly well. We enjoyed them at the picnic table on the lawn. We were also thrilled to see a deer slowly make its way along the road, and two fat bunnies in a neighbor's garden nearby.
The ocean is just a few houses away. You can't see it from the property, but you can hear and smell it. If constant waves or silence aren't enough for your vacation's soundtrack, be sure to bring your favorite CDs or have music available offline (no Wi-Fi, poor signal). The beach itself is gorgeous, clean, and uncrowded. It was the perfect spot to watch the sunset while we were there.
It was a great stay, the owner was responsive, and we'd rent it again.
Very pleased with this house and property. We stayed seven nights and our three small children didn't want to leave. It's so comfortable and homey that they didn't get homesick! This being our first time spent on the Oregon coast, we didn't know what to expect and this home was not a disappointment. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!
Pacific City is home of the Dory fleets. They go out in the early morning at Cape Kiwanda and you can watch them land around noon.
