Ellen's log cabin is 2 and a half story's. It starts with a large covered porch that looks over the valley, a great place for your morning coffee. Walk into the living room with a cathedral ceiling and stairs that lead to the loft. The loft is where the master bedroom is located with an en suite bathroom. Back to the first floor is a full kitchen with a large walk out deck that is actually in the trees. This deck has a large table for outdoor eating and BBQ grill for grilling. The lower floor has 2 bedrooms, family room (which doubles as another private bedroom) and full bathroom. From the family room you walk out to a private lower deck with a hot tub and seating. A fire pit is in the back yard surrounded by woods, very private. Do not worry about where to buy the wood for your fire, we provide it with your cabin.
We rent Ellen's by the bedrooms needed. The rate you see here is one of our seasonal rates for a couple. Additional guest is $25. per guest per night. We offer the couple rate so, a couple can come and stay without paying for all the bedrooms.
As always, we very much enjoyed our stay at Ellen's Log Cabin, providing us with much needed peace and relaxation. The property is always well maintained and clean and is located in the quiet and peaceful Central Missouri country-side.
Ellen's was the perfect get-away for me and my wife's anniversary. We loved it so much,we did not want to leave. It was a beautiful place it was cozy , clean, and everything we needed was there. The hot tub was a bonus! We will be back again! Thanks cindy!
My husband and I needed some time away from everyday life. This cabin was perfect! It was a convenient distance from St Louis during the winter, when weather can be quite unpredictable. It was decorated cutely for the Holidays, including a real Christmas tree! We were excited to be able to include our pooch with us as well. The pictures on the listing don't do the cabin justice. It's actually quite a bit more spacious. We enjoyed cooking our own meals, most everything that you would need is stocked as far as cooking supplies. We brought several of our own things just to be certain. The two-tiered deck was wonderful. The front porch was spacious. It was too cold for us to actually sit out and enjoy it. The hot tub was so relaxing! Cindy was always quick to respond to any questions I had prior to our arrival, and we didn't need to contact her for anything while we were there. We felt we had plenty of privacy. Even though you could see over to the next cabin, it was far enough away. We enjoyed hearing the cows mooing in the morning when we woke up. There is a herd right across the street. It was unfortunate that it was cloudy every night we stayed because I bet the stars would have been amazing to gaze at! We have already been talking with our friends and family about coming back next year to enjoy the area activities such as hiking and floating the rivers. The river is about a mile down the road, a steep walk, but an easy drive (there was plenty of parking). We only stayed two nights and didn't feel the need to venture out to explore the area. We got exactly what we were looking for by staying at this cabin! Wonderful place-book it!
We had a great weekend at this beautiful cabin. The hot tub was great. Perfect for 2. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals and even do a little baking. We enjoyed walking our dog through the woods and took a long walk along the road. Our dog loved watching the fish in the pond out front. The only down side was the road out front. People seem to drive awfully fast there. The owner is very nice and responded to my e-mail very fast. I would recommend this cabin for a couple or 2, a family or maybe even a girls weekend. It was great.
The cabin is gorgeous! Cathedral ceilings, modern decor, comfortable beds, huge kitchen. Our hosts even decorated a Christmas tree and put out Christmas-y decor. I would love to stay here again. Oh, and let's not forget about the hot tub which was quite luxurious on those cold winter days.
We are located in the floating capital of Missouri.
Besides floating one of the nearby rivers, you can go hiking, browsing antique shops and wine tasting, checking out the worlds largest rocking chair, zip-lining at Meramec Caverns or just relaxing at our beautiful log cabin.
