8 Bedrooms all with ensuite/private shower also option of 3 bedroom cottage

A beautiful Manor House, set in secluded grounds with views to the sea,& surrounding National Trust countryside & 5 minutes walk to Polperro. Perfect for family get-togethers & celebrations, it can be booked along with Manor Cottage (ref 67447) for larger parties.The gardens are magnificent with BBQ area , summerhouse & large hot tub. The bedrooms are all individually furnished mostly in William Morris. 6 Doubles, 2 twins. All have ensuite & 1 is at ground level for easy access for a guest who finds stairs difficult. The large farmhouse kitchen is excellently equipped, includes an aga & conventional oven. There is a utility room, a games room with games table & playstation. The large dining room seats all the guests in comfort & has a piano & open fire. The Living room has views over the gardens to the sea in the distance also with open fire, next to Bar/snug room. Central heated throughout. Awarded 4 stars by Visit Britain Tourist Board, Broadband. cot/ toddler beds available

This lovely 17th Century house built of Cornish stone is beautifully situated on the hill to the west side of the ancient and picturesque fishing port of Polperro with its restaurants and historical public houses. The village is renowned for its quaint narrow lanes and whitewashed cottages and still retains its olde world charm. The coastal walks in both directions are breathtaking.

Place to visit include Looe, Fowey, Mevagissey, Lansallos, Talland Bay, Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Liskeard, & Truro. There are lovely beaches to explore, plus a selection of adventure parks and wildlife attractions for children. The South West Way coast path is easily accessible from the grounds. Fishing, golf, sailing, canoeing, and many other activities are available nearby. This is Daphne Du Maurier Country and the annual literary festival at St Austell is a must for enthusiasts.

A 5 minute walk down Landaviddy Lane (longer coming back up) is the pretty harbour and pubs and restaurants of Polperro. The coast path can be joined close to the property and there are also other bridleways across the fields.

About Cathryn

The Family bought this lovely house 15 years ago and we spent time there regularly. There is a yearly maintenance program and over the years we have restored this house to its former glory - sympathetically decorated, we ensure its in keeping with its heritage and at the same time modernising this lovely house to ensure it has all mod cons and is very comfortable.

Why Cathryn chose South East Cornwall

It was love at first sight - beautiful architecture, large spacious rooms, fabulous gardens and views with peace and quiet yet close to the village of Polperro with its historical Inns, restaurants, harbour and independent shops and cafes.

What makes this chateau / country house unique

The house has 8 bedrooms all with en suite so is the ideal house for large family gatherings. Over the 15 years hundreds of families have loved staying here and I think that adds to the atmosphere and is why our guests call it Lovely Landaviddy.We love this part of Cornwall as it is so accessible to all Cornwall has to offer and very beautiful - close to beaches and coast and yet ideally located for a day trip to Eden Project or Heligan Gardens..

We all feel that your Landaviddy website needs to be upgraded. Most places look better on the internet and are a disappointment when you actually see them

but Landaviddy was the complete opposite. We were blown away by the charm of the house and the loveliness of the gardens and we don't think your website does

Charming house in a beautiful location!

Our stay at Landaviddy Manor was perfect - the house is incredibly charming with beautiful gardens and every amenity you could require for a wonderful weekend in one of the most quaint villages in Cornwall. The house is located on the hill above the village just far enough to feel like you have peace and isolation, but close enough to be a short (but admittedly steep) walk to the village.

The house itself is incredibly charming. Many bedrooms and bathrooms. A well equipped kitchen and loads of seating for dinner. The house even has it's own little bar and mini pub that connects to the garden.

Cathryn was extremely responsive and lovely to work with. She made sure everything was perfect for our arrival and very accommodating to our group.

I would recommend the house for large groups for a weekend retreat, weddings, or anyone that appreciates the charm of a country mansion in a beautiful cornish village.

Unforgettable Family Christmas

Our first family Christmas together with 3 generations !

We were all so excited about getting away from London and spending some quality time together in THE MANOR.

The property is perfect for Christmas , with all the food and drinks and the amazing fireplaces !

I truly believe as soon as I saw the words Fireplaces , Hot tub and sea views .. I was sold.

The property was easy to find with a Sat Nav , just stick to the directions and you will be fine!

The rooms were perfect sizes and facilities were good. Beds were nice and comfy , no complaints!

It couldn't have been easier getting information that was needed to book , organise extra cots for the babies and sorting out the temperature of the hot tub! Bless him , the gardener / groundsman Dougie was so patient and helpful , any thing we needed , he would do his best !

I think it would be amazing in the summer as they have great facilities.

Cathryn , the manager was so helpful from the beginning right through to the end.

My highlights were sitting in front of the fireplace with a glass of Champagne , dipping into the hot tub and making good use of the dining room !

Don't think too long about it, JUST BOOK!

Family Holiday - 4 Generations

For an 80th Birthday, our family was able to find a holiday home to fit everyone's needs.

There were no fights over the bathrooms as the was one per bedroom and for those unable to use stairs, there was a downstairs bedroom with en-suit and walk in shower.

Everyone noted how beautiful the manor was and how comfortable their beds were. The rooms upstairs were far from the living room and bar, so noise was minimal. The fireplace was a nice treat as well as a large, comfortable living room.

The highlights were the Aga, piano and the cosy bar, big enough to fit in the whole family.

The children were kept occupied with the games room and if anyone wanted to get away, there were TV's in most of the rooms if not the large garden, hot tub, books, games or short walk to the village as well.

Would highly recommend a car to get there and be able to visit the main Cornish attractions within an hours drive away. The walk to the village from the Manor was a good exercise but it was well worth the scenic route. The fish and chips was delicious, as well on the local scones and jams!

The bonus points was the local bakery (Cornish cakes) who made us a custom cake to pick up on the way and Tesco's delivered to the manor. There was a large tall fridge and separate tall freezer, so little hassle with the food.

Great treat for trekkers and in-house relaxers alike. It was a holiday trip the whole family enjoyed. Thank you for making the stay most welcome and making the whole process easy as pie!

p.s The kitchen is well equipped and the pictures didn't do the manor justice, it was a home away from home!

Exceptional long weekend at this Manor House

We stayed at the house with a group of friends to celebrate a 50th birthday party. The house was very clean and had all the amenities needed for a great retreat. We hired a local chef to prepare a meal and the house had all the utensils and serving platter required as well.

The house has lots of character and is perfect for in-house entertaining. It even has it's own bar/lounge area!

The weather was excellent, but a bit too cold to make full use of the hot tub, but access to town was very easy and a delightful location. The hill into town is a little challenging for some (at least on the way up) and the narrow driving lanes are difficult to naviagate at night.

We had all that we needed and had excellent support from the management of the property. I would highly recommend this property for groups and families.

Landaviddy Manor - May Half Term 2010

We had 2 families, 9 people in total, for a week at the end of May 2010. The house is very nice indeed and extremely well equipped. The kids loved all the rooms and the bar billiards table was a big hit...with adults and kids!

The location is excellent, although the lanes to the house are very much single track, but so are many in the area.

Polperro is a delight, Looe is very nice town with a good, but busy, family beach. We had a lovely day at Talland Bay, which was a very good find.

Eden Project was interesting but not really enough to keep kids occupied.

The ferry from Boddinick to Fowey is lovely and a real time-saver if heading to St Austell.

Overall highly recommended.

Great half Term February 2009

We are 2 families with lots of children varying in age from 2 to 13 had a fab Weekend at Landaviddy. The house was really lovely, even better than expected. The whole house was very clean. We all loved the kitchen - amazingly well equipped, even an electric whisk. The house was very spacious which was great for us. The gardens and views were beautiful - we had great weather and made the most of the hot tub.

Fell in love with Polperro - lovely places to eat and drink and great shops to ponder in. We took the children to a couple of beaches - Lansallos was the favourite - a real find. I had the best fish and chips ever in Looe. great holiday, We all decided that we would have to come back next year.

This 18th century Manor is situated on the hill to the west side of the picturesque fishing port of Polperro with its restaurants and historic public houses. The village is renowned for its harbour, whitewashed cottages and independent shops, fabulous historical Pubs, renowned restaurants - think pirates and smuggling!. The village has a fabulous choice of restaurants and Inns. Many of the public houses are famously olde and have true authentic charm. The coastal walks in both directions are breathtaking, and the Manor is ideally located for day trips to many famous attractions e.g. Eden Project, Heligan Gardens, and places such as Fowey, Looe, Mevagissey, Daphne Du Maurier Country, Looe, Lansallos, Truro and Liskeard . The Eden Project , Heligan Gardens and Knightor Winery are all in reasonble distances.There are a wide selection of beaches, sports and adventure parks and wildlife attractions to suit all ages and interests. A truly beautiful part of the world where you have an enviable choice of things to do and see.
