Overview

Photos and Description of this 5 bedroom holiday home in Roussillon - 270° VIEW ON LUBERON

Luxury villa in 2 acre garden - 5 bedrooms - 4 bathrooms - sleeps 10

Wonderful hilltop villa with panoramic views across the 'Parc natural régional du Luberon' and the local village of Roussillon - officially rated as 'un des plus beaux villages de France'.

The property, set in an idilic rural location, has a huge private garden (2 acres) within a wonderful woodland setting and a heated and fully secured infinity swimming pool (6x12m) - the electronic pool cover /shutter provides complete security for children when closed.

This light and airy villa sleeps up to 10 people in luxury and includes 4 bedrooms, an additional open plan mezzanine bedroom and 4 bathrooms. It is very spacious and with it's many French windows and exterior terraces provides an extremely flexible, open and relaxing environment.

The decoration is typically ‘Provencal', with its white beams and the 'tomettes' floor that give a very warm and welcoming feel to the property. The interior design is a mix of traditional Provencal and contemporary furniture - painted furniture and antiques bought at l’Isle sur la Sorgue market alongside contemprary Eames, Ligne Roset, Maxalto pieces.

The house is fully equipped : TV, DVD, WiFi, washing + drying machine, dish washer, inside + outside sound system, lots of books (art, literature, travel guides, comics…), board games, outside games (pétanque, table tennis…) and many more. An integrated alarm system and remote controlled motorised gate provides added security.

wonderful provencal retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week at the villa. It easily accommodated our group of 6 adults and 3 kids, ages 7-13. The outdoor area is beautifully landscaped with views of Roussillon in the distance. There is a large pool which was well used by the 3 boys, as well as flat grassy areas for croquet and boules. The outdoor eating areas are wonderful with good views and big umbrellas for shade. There is a nice walk into Roussillon along wooded paths and small roads which takes around 1/2 hour and was perfect for our daily baguette/croissant run. The surrounding areas is very beautiful and fun to explore. The ancient fort at Buoux was a highlight for the adults and kids, as was river kayaking under the Pont du Gard. We ate most of our meals at the house and the kitchen was very well-equipped and easy for multiple people to work in at the same time. The beds were comfortable and there was a wonderful breeze through the house that made sleeping easy, even when the days were hot. The owner and property manager were both very helpful and responsive. I would highly recommend this villa.

A beautiful house with incredible views

  • 5 of 5

This house, situated within a 20 minute walk of Roussillon slept our extended family of 9 people very comfortably. The spaceous kitchen was extremely well stocked with dishes, cups, and eating utensils. The outdoor tables easily accomodated all of us for dinners, and the umbrellas or trellace shaded us from the direct sun. The heated pool was first class. Our only problem was getting there at 7 PM and finding no toilet paper in the house. Fortunately, the supermarket (some 10 km away) was open until 8 PM.

A stunning house in a stunning setting

  • 5 of 5

The house is beautiful as described, and very clean and well maintained. As a family we enjoyed having table tennis available and the benefit of a heated pool in September, though this was turned off half way through the week by the pool maintenance man.

The house is situated a few minutes drive from Roussillon so getting bread in the morning was not a problem. The perched villages were a pleasure to visit and the local markets.

The owner was very helpful and supportive when booking the house, though the contract was mostly in french which was harder for English clients to immediately decipher.

There was a request in the contract to strip and wash all the linen including towels before leaving which was a challenge we tried to meet, though Pascale said she would review that request.

Overall a lovely house in a lovely place which we would have no hesitation in recommending to friends.

amazing home and stay

  • 5 of 5

what a gift it was to stay in pascals's home. the pictures give you a small window into the beauty of this place. the location is probably one of the most stunning in the luberon. pascale did everything she could to make our stay divine... including when the water went out in the house. she had someone there to fix the problem within an hour. too, we left our iPod behind and she sent it to us in the states free of charge. these little things certainly made a difference. thank you pascale... we will be back if you will have us:)

A wonderful September

  • 5 of 5

It was a wonderful vacation in September 2014. The house is magnificant and the view to Roussillon is incredible. It is a peaceful place where you can relax perfectly. The smell of the nature was very intensive and we enjoyed especially the swimming pool. We will certainly come back next year.

Location

Located in the heart of the 'Parc régional du Luberon’, 35 minutes east of Avignon, the villa provides a relaxing and tranquil haven from which to explore this beautiful region of France.

The villa sits in it’s own 2 acre rural hilltop setting within walking distance of award winning vineyards and the local village of Roussillon - officially rated as 'un des plus beaux villages de France’. Roussillon has local shopping facilities including a bakery, local general store, a pharmacy and many restaurants. The local village of Goult,10 mins by car, has an exceptional artisan baker and café and the town of Apt, 15 mins by car, provides larger supermarket, general shopping and medical facilities.

There are wonderful walks, places and villages to explore in all directions providing many options for days out and about.

The house is conviniently located 35 minutes from Avignon TGV / train station and the highway (autoroute Avignon Sud). You can also fly into Marseille airport : 1h20 drive.
