Did not know what to expect before we arrived. When we first arrived we were met by the owners and immediatly welcomed into their home. The rooms were in their own "wing" that closed off by a door. We had access to the living area of the home, which pictures do not do it justice! Rooms were clean and had everything you would expect from an expensive hotel. Breakfast was served every morning of croissants, fruit, coffee, and juice. Owners love their city of Cleveland and gave lots of "must sees" to do. My friend and I meet every year in Cleveland, and are going to stay again next year.

Unusual and delightful property

  • 5 of 5

Troy and Raudel's home is a tasteful masterpiece and spending time there soothes the spirit. The hosts invite you into their home, making you feel like trusted friends. The garden is an oasis of tranquility and the unusual artwork throughout the house is delightful. The room and bath were meticulously clean and the bed and linens top quality. I can't recommend this property more highly.

Cool house in Cleveland Hgts

  • 4 of 5

Great stay in a cool house in a very nice neighborhood in Cleveland Hgts. My wife and I and mother in law had the down stairs small wing with 2 bedrooms and a bath. The rest of the house is shared with our host Troy and Rondel occupying the up stairs. Very accommodating host with fresh coffee every morning and space in the frig for food and wine. Two small dogs that were not a problem. Would be happy to stay there again

Cool house in beautiful neighborhood

  • 4 of 5

We had an interesting stay at our first HomeAway experience.

Pros: cool house with really interesting, artistic and eclectic decor. The bathroom is done beautifully with heated floor and strong shower and modern toilet. Their dog Amigo is adorable and a welcome greeter when you return. They provided nice robes in the rooms and the sheets were very soft. Raudel was also very nice and provided an umbrella on a rainy day. He was very nice and warm.

I feel the need to mention a couple of things that were not included in other reviews. The rented rooms aren't far from the kitchen and cooking scents are strong and permeate the rooms quickly and don't dissipate. The owners went into the private rooms repeatedly to turn the heat down from 70 to 45 degrees while we were away each day. That felt a bit weird and it would have been less intrusive if they clearly stated their expectations on the heating. It took some time for the rooms to warm back up at night once the heat was put back on. There was construction performed on the house in the morning and we were not made aware of it. Overall we didn't feel quite as welcome as I expected based upon previous reviews. Perhaps there were some extenuating circumstances of which I'm not aware, but based upon this experience I don't think we would use a homeaway with the owners on the premises again.

I would still say it was good value for money vs the local hotels however we definitely felt a bit like intruders in someone's home.

beautiful area and home

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 3 nights with our dog. Troy was away so we did not have the privilege of meeting him. Raudel was very friendly and a wonderful host. When we left to go see the sights and left our dog in the kennel cage in the room, Raudel took her for a walk for us and keep her company, The house was clean and comfortable and the mattress was like a cloud. We took a tour of Cleveland and the house we stayed in was the nicest area in Cleveland. The surrounding homes were like mini mansions and the beautiful park and walkway across the street was ideal to take our dog for a walk. . We highly recommend staying here!!

Wonderfully located

  • 4 of 5

This property is wonderfully located close to University Circle where there are great cultural institutions including the very well respected and free Cleveland Art Museum, the world-class Cleveland Orchestra Western Reserve Historical Museum for you genealogists with ancestors from this area. The Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals are less than 10 minutes drive for those who require high tech sophisticated treatment available in very few locations in the world and a perfect location to stay if accompanying someone undergoing surgery. Nearby Lake View Cemetery was originally designed to be an arboretum which now shelter graves and monuments to John D. Rockefeller, President Garfield, Jeptha Wade of Western Union fame along with many others at a time when Cleveland had more millionaires that did New York. One of your hosts trained as a chef who has many good suggestions for dining suggestions.

Our home contains irreplaceable glass art collected through out the years. We invite you to enjoy it but also appreciate that you are cautious around the works. We would prefer no young children. Thank you Troy and Raudel.
