Logs is a little slice of Heaven. 3800 sq ft 'Log' home that is tastefully appointed with all of the amenities of your very own home. We pay attention to details, as we are avid travelers using VRBO properties ourselves. Our home is your home. We LOVE entertaining friends and family. We made it a point to have everything to relax or to entertain without question. Our home sleeps 10 in beds and we have kitchen, bath, pool essentials for large numbers. We have created dining and lounging areas throughout the property to accommodate a crowd, as well. Because our property and home is large, it happens to be quite charming because you are surrounded by hundreds of Oaks. The bedrooms upstairs make you feel like you are in a treehouse when looking out the windows and the star gazing is amazing. The home has a large covered deck that surrounds it on 3 sides. The main deck has a dining table that seats 14-16 with an adjoining sofa outdoor lounging area that seats 10-12. There is extra seating with Adirondack Chairs. With umbrellas to shade in the warmer months, we also have heaters for the cooler evenings. On the back side of the home we have a propane BBQ/grill, as well as a Weber coal grill. With a year round working vegetable garden on the same side, guests are encouraged to forage from our organic garden which generally includes 12 heirloom tomato plants, zucchini, butternut squash, onions, fennel, tomatillos, cucumbers, bell peppers, eggplant and herbs to name a few. Our front yard is a well planned typical English Garden which changes monthly with the blooms and foliage. Meander down our breathtaking and well lit path to the 60' pool and jacuzzi (both are covered by an electric cover for safety). Enjoy the resort like pool set in a garden of lush plants and flowers. 4 lounges, Adirondack chairs and umbrellas are present for relaxing and sunbathing. Through a garden gate is our famous fruit orchard and rose garden. In the gated area is a raised fish pond, Bocce Ball court, private gazebo, and a 'man-shack' for a little quiet time. If that is not enough, we have an old fashion rope swing, childs zipline and 2-2 storied play houses. Inside for the kids and kids at heart, we have a plethora of games, cards and puzzles. Bring your favorite games for Wii and XBox 3. We have Direct TV and Apple TV and free WiFi. As an added bonus, our Solarium which is connected to the home, is an extra refrigerator/freezer with a Ping Pong table coming soon.

Why Michelle and Jeff Miller chose Templeton

Life choices for our '2nd Half,' changed our life 180 degrees. In 2010 we visited the Central Coast for a weekend. We immediately fell in love with the Paso Robles area for it's casual/environmental friendly attitude. We love the ruralness, but welcome the foodie vibe with some incredible restaurants and up and coming boutiques for a more urban shopping experience that is not commercial, but owned by local residents. The community takes care of each other and the realness of the people was a much desired virtue. With many visits in 2 years, we knew that we had to own property in the Paso Robles area. Our home in the Templeton Gap is a narrow strip that hugs the 46 west, which most consider to be Paso Robles with all the highly touted wineries. Once known for Zins, this AVA wine region is becoming known for outstanding blends. Considering Paso is recognized for it's wine, we actually fell in love with the other amazing qualities. Living part-time in Orange County, living close to the water was imperative. We always take a beautiful drive to Cambria for a sunset dinner on Moonstone Beach (picture above) or take dogs to run on Cayucos' beach. Kayaking on Morro Bay is another favorite activity. We adore hiking and for a easy causal hike we go to Fiscalini Ranch in Cambria or day trip it to the none other, Big Sur. Mountain Biking is in our soul, so off to the State Park at Montana de Oro. Having a blended family of 6 and our extended family all living in Southern California, we were drawn to 'Logs' due to the expansive living space indoors and out. Entertaining is in our bones, but we are now learning to treasure the peace that our property lends us. Whether it is reading with our morning coffee or relaxing with a glass of wine and cheese plate on our deck, the solitude from our bustling life in Orange County is much appreciated by the young and old. No one ever wants to leave the property to explore, let alone go home. Adults and kids will LOVE Logs!

What makes this estate unique

We chose our property due to the lush California Oaks that surround the property. We love to see the daily visits from deer, turkey, birds and sometimes wild pigs-all beyond our deer fence which surrounds the top 3 acres of our living space of the home, pool and gardens. Other larger properties are either in San Miguel or Eastside Paso/Templeton which is much hotter and drier. Our area is highly sought after, as it is considered 'country' living due to the heavily wooded area in the wine area. We love the coastal influence, as the York Mountain neighborhood is known for it's unique microclimate, which is 5-10 degrees cooler in the hot summer months. Our property has a resort quality 60' pool and jacuzzi, which other homes don't have in the area.

Thank you M and J for an incredible stay at "Logs!" We stayed with our entire extended family. The young teens, older teens, and even the grandparents didn't want to leave. Your home is so charming, but spacious at the same time. No one got under each other's feet for the 4 days that we had our vacation. What can I say about the property? Not enough...With the gigantic pool that is lusciously landscaped into the yard, it feels like a large pond in nature. There was wonderful lounges and chairs for those who didn't want to swim, but still feel apart of the action. The early evening we had Bocce Ball tournaments while watching the sun filter over Epoch Estate Wineries vineyard through the thousands of oak trees. The deck up at the house was wonderful for coffee in the morning and cheese, crackers and wine in the late afternoon. There was so much room for us all to gather comfortably. The umbrellas and heaters were both appreciated. We had the option of dining inside or out. This is a rarity to have different options when vacationing with a family of our size. The vegetable garden, fruit orchard and English gardens look like they are constantly changing with the seasons. How much fun to see deer visit daily and sometimes the turkey too! The Paso Robles area is not just for the folk who want to wine taste all weekend. We found so much more to do and we did squeeze in a few of our favorite wineries too! We can't thank you enough and we would love to return every Memorial Weekend.

Though we are in the 'Premiere' and highly touted wine country in the Central Coast of California, there are so many other activities other than wine tasting. You might just choose to just hang out on our 13 acre California Oaked property with our 60' pool and jacuzzi, walk the gardens, childrens' zipline, 2-2 story play houses, tree swing, bocce ball. We have daily visits by our resident family of deer and turkey. Bird watching is also a joy on our property, as the Blue Crested Jays seem like they own the place. Nearby sights and activities are Hearst Castle and the Elephant Seal Beach in San Simeon, strolling Moonstone Beach, Cambria and catching an amazing meal with a world class view or shopping/dining in East and West Villages of Cambria. Also walk the bluffs of Fiscalini Ranch in Cambria-nice Pines to Sea hike in rolling hills or flat boardwalk on the waterfront. Visit nostalgic beach cities like Cayucos or Pismo Beach (sand dune bugging/ATV). Go to Morro Bay Marina/Wharf for fresh fish. Also in Morro is Kayaking and Golf. Nearby San Luis Obispo is a bustling small college town with terrific shopping and restaurants. Close by is the beautiful Avila and Shell Beach to dine or sunbathe. For a day trip drive the ever-stunning Highway 1 to Big Sur. Hike, explore and dine!!! There is also Parasurfing and Hot Air Ballooning for the thrill seekers. Don't forget Lake Nacimento for a day of water activities/boat rentals available, hiking and dining.

Amazing property.

This house is just beautiful. Outdoor sitting area and inside sitting area is just very comfortable and relaxed.

The kitchen is well stocked with everything you can think of ... attention to detail was impeccable. Michelle was wonderful to work with. We will definitely be back!! Logs did not disappoint!

Great spot!

We celebrated my daughters 40th birthday here. Home was very comfortable. We had the master bedroom and our bed was very comfortable. I like nice linens and all was good!

Kitchen was fully equipped. The grounds are lovely. Not too far off the main road, but seems as though we were away from everyone.

We visited in early October. We had perfect weather, pool, although not heated, was brisk but still able to enjoy. Kids loved it.

We hired a limo/bus to take us to some nice nearby wineries. Best part... just sitting on the beautiful deck and having coffee in the morning. Fabulous view.

Perfect for 4 couples to enjoy a wine tasting weekend.

Highly recommend Logs.

Best house EVER!

We were in the area for a wedding and decided to stay somewhere new. We’ve stayed in many homes in the Paso area and this is by far the best! We loved just hanging out on the deck and lounging by the pool. The home was beyond comfortable and had everything you could possibly need. This was one of the best vacations simply because of this property!

We absolutely loved this rental and surrounding property. The pictures do not do it justice. It was everything we hoped for and more.

We were six ladies celebrating a long planned wine country getaway for the bridal party, mom and aunt of the bride. For the bridal party, now in their 30’s with kids, this was a rare opportunity to relax and enjoy a peaceful weekend together.

The house was spotless, with more than enough space that we never felt crowded. It was furnished beautifully with everything you could possibly need, and we wanted for nothing. We all felt at home and safe, even though it is located off the main road a bit, it was our sanctuary for the weekend.

The surrounding property and gardens were incredible and serene. The pool and Jacuzzi situated on the lower level of the property, was beyond delightful.

We enjoyed wine tastings at the local wineries on Friday and Saturday afternoon. We ate most of our meals at the house, and went downtown to the Hatch restaurant on Saturday night.

The only issue I had was bees. It was so lovely outside I decided to serve brunch outside. I attempted to set up food on the lovely picnic table on the deck but the bees were immediately swarming, so I had to bring the food inside. Otherwise, the bees were not a problem as long as there wasn’t food around.

Michelle was always available by text if we had any questions. The house was filled with books and games and a big screen television in the living room surrounded by a huge comfy leather couch.

Many thanks to the very special family who graciously shared their home with us; we are honored to have been able to experience your Logs.

I highly recommend this rental. I hope I will return someday with my husband, so that together we can share this magnificent place with our extended families and friends.

Delightful house and grounds

Everyone was oohing and aahing at each new discovery--the wonderful long driveway, the brilliant landscape design with a pool right where it is sunniest, with a stone path following the contour of the slope, with perfectly-situated patches of well-kept lawn, with a deck looking out on trees and vineyard-covered hills, with garden art and sculptures in the sweetest places. We harvested tomatoes, dill, and a pepper from your vegetable garden for our culinary endeavors. We made great headway on the jigsaw puzzle--maybe your next guests can finish it. We loved the commodious dining table where we could all sit so comfortably. I couldn't believe there was an immersion blender among the kitchen implements--I used it to make mason-jar hollandaise to great acclaim. Having that second fridge was a blessing for the 5 ice chests full of food we brought. Thanks for a great stay! And many kudos for arranging that thunder-and-lightning show the third night. Way cool!
