Enjoy a refreshing breeze from the Chesapeake Bay, one block away, as you relax in your rocking chair on a shaded wrap around porch.
This stately 2 story brick home is conveniently located on a large corner lot in the historic district of the quaint town of Cape Charles. It is a 3 bedroom home and a dayroom with a daybed, 1 1/2 baths, entry foyer, living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen with an island counter a small reading room off of the dining room and a half bath.
The bedrooms are located on the second floor. The large bedroom (master) has a double bed and the 2 smaller bedrooms, one with twin beds and the other with bunk beds and a full bath with 2 sinks, tub, and separate shower compartment
The feature of the house is the porch. Enjoy your coffee in the morning, afternoon reading, snoozing, snacking, and the beautiful sunsets over the Chesapeake Bay.
We stayed at this wonderful property for 2 weeks with our 2 children. The location is perfect for both the beach and the town. The layout of the house is superb, with all amenities taken care of. There were beach chairs, boogie boards, all kitchen equipment needed and a well stocked towel cupboard!!! Richard (owner) was a terrific host - full of useful, local information and very kind to us all.
The porch with the ceiling fan was, of course, one of the star attractions and we had many an evening sitting out there watching the sunset.
It was our second trip back to Cape Charles (from England) and it did not disappoint. The town is a good size for a quiet family holiday and the beach is quiet and water always warm.
We had a fabulous time and the house was terrific.

The house is beautiful and the porch was a great place to sit and enjoy the quiet evenings and chat. It is a beautiful historic home on a block full of beautiful homes, gardens and big shady trees.
You can see the Chesapeake bay and the sunsets from the side porch and the beach is a short walk.
One block to the entrance and plenty of space to set up for the day, enjoy the water, walk home for lunch and head back to read a book.
Great kitchen and Dining room and great Full bath.
The owners were welcoming and they had everything we could ever need at the house, in the kitchen, the bathroom and for the beach. It felt like a home away from home.
My parents were there to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary and the home owners and neighbors and other people in town all wished them well which speaks to the welcoming feel of a small town, they loved it!
The enjoyed meals at several of the local eateries, one of their favorite things was breakfast at Rayfield's pharmacy, listening to the juke box, another fun place was the coach house Tavern, on a signature Golf course at Bay Creek.
Kelly's pub had great Fish and Chips!
The other thing we did was rent a golf cart for them for the week and they had freedom and ease to explore all around town.
Again, my family and i choose to come to CC for our anual summer vaction, and with this property we just pick a wonderful house! Clean and comfortable, all you can ask for.(Kayak, bikes, beach chairs etc.) A huge porch, what we really enjoyed all day long. We had enough space to entertain our family visits from a cross the US, who also where so positiveley impressed by this house. The owners are most kind, friendly and helpful people and they made a difference to this stay. We wish them all the best and further sucsess with this vacation rental. We come all the way from Germany, and we make this wasn't our last visit! Thank you again, we highly recomend this property!
We stayed at this house on our visit to Cape Charles. What a lovely house. One block from the beach. House has everything you need. The owner is very nice and checks in to make sure you have everything. You will not be disappointed in this property!! Our family loved it!!
Our visit to this house in Cape Charles was the first time it had been rented. It had everything we could have asked for and more. It started out great - linens and towels are provided, making the first few hours there easy and stress free. The house is located only four houses from the bay, so there are some bay views available from the porch. Ahh, yes, the porch. That has to have been the highlight of our stay. The wrap around porch was our favorite place to be. There are plenty of chairs available for lazing away the hours. The town of Cape Charles has sidewalks in front of all houses which makes greeting passersby a natural thing to do. We got to meet the neighbors - which isn't something you'd normally find in with a vacation rental.
The kitchen is well appointed with the basics for cooking - we didn't find we needed anything there that wasn't provided. The grill part of the stove didn't work, but that was fine - the owners provide a Weber charcoal grill. The owners provide 2 bicycles for getting to town, but it is a very short walk there too. They also provided a kayak for the beach, and we made use of that as well. Be sure to rent a golf cart from Custom Carts if you can - that was a fun way to tour the town.
For sleeping accommodations, there is a bedroom with a double, a bedroom with two twins and bedroom with one set of bunk beds. There is a sunroom downstairs off the dining room with a daybed, also.
The house across the street was being renovated, which was a little bit noisy, but it didn't affect our stay. We even got invited to tour the house while they were working - friendly neighbors!!
There are plenty of places to eat, wineries nearby to visit, and for rainy days, there is Direct TV. Be sure to eat ice cream from Brown Dog every day, even if there's a line. It is worth the wait.
I'm sure you will enjoy your stay in historic Cape Charles.
