About Frederique Guette
My husband and I are French born. I'm from Paris, he is from Brittany (Celtic part of France, West coast). We still have our house in Brittany where we return every year. I have lived in the US about 20 years, I was an AFS student in KC in 83 (foreign exchange student). My husband has lived here since early 2014 when we left France and decided to move to KC. In two words, we love to travel, eat good food and meet people and we hope to meet you soon!
Frederique Guette purchased this House in 2014
Why Frederique Guette chose North Hyde Park
We love the neighborhood, a melting pot of cultures and artists, close to everything!
What makes this House unique
The house is right in the middle of everything, the Royals or Chiefs stadium, the midtown and downtown area as well as the Plaza and Westport. The house is gorgeous and was completely remodeled a couple of years ago, we love the 3rd floor with its high ceiling and incredible chandelier.

Great location! Great house!
Spacious house in a great location
Great house with a lot of rooms and quality sleeping amenities. We were 5 minutes away from everything which made the stay even better.
We loved the house. It worked out so well for our group!
Nice large house with a lot of character
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is large with lots of bedrooms and bathrooms, perfect for a group of couples. They have a lot of rules here but most of it is common sense and what a good house guest would do anyway.
Stayed there for Labor Day Weekend with our kids and Grandkids. Close to everything we had planned.
Enjoyed our stay with adult children. Lots of room or spread out.
Owner very responsive to questions. Would definitely return .
Kitchen could use basic water glasses,. Be sure you are ok with house rules before committing as there are a few.
Thank you Teresa for your review and for staying at la Maison de Charlotte. I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay. Well noted for the basic glasses we’ll get some today :)
I wanted to address your comment regarding our “rules” so our future guests understand what you are referring to.
Over the years and after a fair amount of issues with some of our guests, we came to the conclusion that what seemed obvious to most and to us was not to some and that common sense is far from being common :) So in order to avoid any more issues we decided to write down the dos and don’ts.
So, for our dear future guests reading this review, here is the list of our rules, as you can see, they are nothing more than what you would expect if anyone was going to stay in your house hoping they would respect the space as they do their own. The rules talk about what the cleaning fee entails (laundry of bedding and towels, dusting, sweeping and mopping, refrigerators, mirrors and cleaning bathrooms), the “no pet, no smoking, no outside guests/no parties in the house” rule, the “do not put our furniture outside on the patio” rule (yes, we’ve had that happen in the past, even the art work on the wall had been taken down!), the “do not use glitters or confetti” in the house rule (unless you want to drive my cleaning crew crazy :)), the “don’t forget to lock doors and window before you leave” rule, the “do not download illegally” rule, the “do not drive on the grass” rule, the “don’t forget to use a fitted sheet (provided) if you sleep on the sofa” rule, and finally the “please be mindful of the AC or Heat temperatures” as we have had guests in the past turning the AC very low or heat very high while windows were open! This house is 4000 sf, it’s a monster to heat or cool down, so we just ask our guest to try and keep AC at 76 and heat at 69 as much as possible.
We also send our guests information such as what to do with trash, how to work the dishwasher, where the internet box is, where the 1st aid kit and fire extinguisher are, etc. just a bunch of info that is useful as well as a list of restaurants and things to do in KC.
We offer our guests a wonderful house, we love having guests staying and enjoying the space and our beautiful city, and we welcome with open arms all our future guests, we are just trying to ensure the house is well taken care of by everyone so we can continue offering it to our future guests.
