Our 4000 sf home has that modern Chateau feeling and we hope your stay will be as royal as can be.
You might read on the different reviews that in some instances we rented the entire house to our guests, in others we shared the house with our guests and provided breakfast, operating as a B&B. This is no longer the case, we only rent the entire house now and we don't live in the house any more. It will be all yours to enjoy :)
We are only a few minutes away from Crown Center (we are part of the Crown Center district & North Hyde Park area), 3 blocks from Martini Corner, Power & Light, Westport, Plaza, Downtown, River Market, Chiefs & Royals stadiums. We are perfectly centered in the city so nothing is far away and buses are only a block away.
The house is fully furnished, linen & towels, hair products, soap, etc. are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped. In short, you'll find in this house everything you need as you would find in your own home.
Note: due to the limited time we have in between 2 rentals to do laundry and clean, if you need more than one set of sheets, one bath towel, washcloth, hand towel (provided) please bring extra ones.
Other than a great kitchen, living and dining room, we have an awesome space on the 3rd floor, the "lounge" area with a bar, sofas, books, etc. A great place to relax.
Louis XIV has a Queen size bed, its own en suite bathroom and large outdoor patio.

There is plenty of parking space in the back of the house where 4 cars can easily park. (no more than 4 please and no parking or driving on the grass).
Our neighborhood is a melting pot of cultures and artists. We are right by 'Martini Corner' where you can walk to from the house and have a nice choice of bars and restaurants.

My husband and I are French born. I'm from Paris, he is from Brittany (Celtic part of France, West coast). We still have our house in Brittany where we return every year.
I have lived in the US about 20 years, I was an AFS student in KC in 83 (foreign exchange student). My husband has lived here since early 2014 when we left France and decided to move to KC.
In two words, we love to travel, eat good food and meet people and we hope to meet you soon!
Frederique Guette purchased this house in 2014
We love the neighborhood, a melting pot of cultures and artists, close to everything!
The house is right in the middle of everything, the Royals or Chiefs stadium, the midtown and downtown area as well as the Plaza and Westport.
The house is gorgeous and was completely remodeled a couple of years ago, we love the 3rd floor with its high ceiling and incredible chandelier.
My family is from Michigan, and my sister lives in Kansas city. We rented this home for a five night stay in KC and we were beyond impressed! The home was huge, and allowed us to stay together without being on top of each other. All bedrooms had either queen or king beds, and there were plenty of bathrooms. The home was very clean and well stocked with the usual rental amenities (plenty of towels, kitchen wares, etc) and had been beautifully renovated with modern appliances. Three of the bedrooms and the family room had televisions.
The location was absolutely phenomenal for our purposes. It is minutes from downtown, Westport, the Plaza, Union Station, the National WWI museum, amazing restaurants, Quik Trip (being from Michigan, we're obsessed with QT), gas stations, pharmacies, fast food, and just about anything you could want. The neighborhood is safe and what I would call up-and-coming and cultural, with a definite artists' vibe, and full of beautiful old homes with interesting architecture. My sister and brother-in-law, who live in KC and know the area well, helped to pick the home and location from a lot of options in the area, and they did great.
The owner was reasonable, easy-going, efficient and supremely easy to deal with! In my opinion, the house is priced right and a great value. We took extra care to leave the house in great shape because we knew we'd want to rent the same location the next time we visit my sister in Kansas City. Thank you for a great stay and some amazing memories, Frederique!
This is a huge 3 story house! It worked well for us because the children could play and have fun without being on top of the adults. The kitchen was beautiful and worked well for us. The reason I didn't give this 5 stars was because the tv package did not have ESPN. We would have enjoyed watching some bowl games while we stayed there.
Eight sisters/cousins stayed over a long weekend at this house. We had a fantastic time! The house more than met our needs. We marveled at the vintage elements within the house - beautiful mouldings, transoms, original paneled doors.... There was plenty of room for all 8 of us to sit around and visit/eat. It could not have been better.
The home is beautifully remodeled and furnished. It is in a great location for shopping and restaurants. We had three couples and a family of three staying at the home, so it was perfect that we had four bedrooms and 3-1/2 baths available. And the one teenager was able to be on her own on the third floor when she needed some teenager time.
We had a family gathering of 20 people one night and the deck and large kitchen easily handled all of us. The parking in the back easily accommodated 5 vehicles, including two large vans.
We had a wonderful time. It is a great gathering place with all the modern conveniences and it is only 10 mins from downtown. We look forward to the next time we go back to KC.
Kansas City is the City of Jazz and best BBQ in the country! Home of Charlie Parker, enjoy great jazz on 18th and Vine and eat the best BBQ in the USA at Arthur Bryant or Oklahoma Joe's!
