Luchon is a lovely, vibrant town in the heart of the Pyrenees. It's a great all-year-round resort. In the summer it makes a tremendous base for outdoor sports, especially walking / mountain trekking, road cycling and mountain biking. In the winter, Luchon turns its attention to catering for all the different 'snow' sports - skiing, snowboarding are just two of the options. The apartment is on the 2nd floor of a traditional old French villa which has been completely refurbished. As it is at the rear of the property and in a road with little traffic, it is very quiet and tranquil. The lounge is large, light and airy and has traditional French doors leading to a balcony which overlooks the mountains. There is a table and two chairs on the balcony where you can sit and enjoy the view - or watch people parapenting from the top of the mountain!

The lounge contains a large settee (the base of which pulls out to provide a second double bed) and a futon, while the dining table easily caters for four or five people. There is a flat screen TV with a DVD player, and a sound system provides facilities to play CDs or to dock an ipod or connect any other mp3 device (3.5mm cable required) as well as listening to French radio.

Adjacent to the lounge there is a well-equipped American kitchen with two rings for cooking, a toaster, a kettle, a range of pans, coffee machine etc. as well as having storage space for food.

There is a separate double bedroom, which has wardrobes and drawers providing plenty of space for clothes, shoes etc. From the bedroom there is a door to the bathroom.The toilet is off the lounge area.

There is a lockable cave in the basement which

provides further safe storage space for bikes, skis or luggage.

The apartment has been tastefully furnished and is fully equipped. WE CAN OFFER A 10% DISCOUNT FOR STAYS OF TWO WEEKS AND 20% DISCOUNT FOR STAYS OF THREE WEEKS OR MORE. The apartment is very well located for guests coming for treatments in the local specialist hospitals and the famous Thermes; both of these can be found within a short walking distance.

The apartment is close to the town centre, with all the amenities you would expect from a long-established mountain resort, including the ski lift (which doubles as a mountain bike / parascending / walking lift in the summer!), thermal baths, restaurants, bars, a variety of shops (from local produce to home furnishings!) and several supermarkets, the nearest of which is a 'Casino' on the main street. This is within walking distance of the apartment. Luchon boasts several parks. The one next to the apartment is a beautiful space, with water features, magnificent trees and lovely flower beds. Nearby there is an activity park with tennis courts, a swimming pool, mini-golf, a climbing wall, a large play area for children and a cafe. There is a tree-lined walk along the river and, at the end of the park, the golf course. The town centre also has a cinema, and a casino - and, naturally, a thriving boules park. Parfait!

For the last twenty years we have lived in a small village just outside the city of Bath in the UK with our two boys, Callum and Jamie, while our recently married daughter, Robyn, lives with her husband, Nick, in the nearby city of Bristol.

Before we bought the apartment in Luchon, we had visited France many times on holiday; we love the country and find the pace of life much gentler than in the UK, which suits us just fine!

Why David Cameron chose Bagnères-de-Luchon

Having visited Luchon - the 'Queen of the Pyrenees' - on several occasions, we fell in love with the town and the surrounding area with its beautiful mountains and countryside.

We were lucky enough to find the apartment when Villa Cecelia was still in the process of being renovated. We knew the apartment would be ideal for our needs , both for family holidays and for renting when our family is not using it.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is tastefully decorated, and we have tried to ensure that the apartment is very well equipped, providing everything that may be required for a comfortable and enjoyable holiday.

We are always open to suggestions from our guests on ways to improve the apartment, including adding further equipment which might be useful. Basic foods such as olive oil, condiments, sugar and pasta can usually be found on your arrival, as guests often replace any items they have used during their stay. This takes away the usual need to rush to the supermarket on your arrival following a long, tiring journey to Luchon!

The apartment is ideally situated for the Thermes for anyone seeking a it is in the same road. It is also perfect for skiing, mountain biking. walking, canoeing, rafting, parapenting, horse riding,and many other outdoor sports. It is only 11 kilometres from the Spanish border, so excellent for exploring the area. Luchon is a lovely town, with plenty of restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. There is also a casino and a cinema. The train station is on the edge of the town,making it very easy for anyone who does not wish to travel by car. There are two big supermarkets near the train station and two smaller ones in town. There are parks with lots of facilities for children, including an outdoor swimming pool, play equipment, a climbing wall, mini golf, as well as tennis, golf, and lovely walks. There is another park next the Thermes, with a duck pond and lovely walking trails into the mountains. There is always something to do either in the town or the surrounding area.

Quiet and full of character, yet perfectly situated in Luchon

The apartment had everything we needed for our holiday. It was very quiet. We mostly ate out but we did cook one meal, and had everything we needed to do so. The apartment is very conveniently located, about a two minute walk to the main street in Luchon and the thermal baths. The parking immediately on the street outside is limited to 2 hours but there was lots of parking just around the corner, and we never had to park more than 50 metres away. For two people this was a perfect base in Luchon.

Appartement très agréable au centre de Luchon, proche Thermes

L'appartement est situé dans un quartier très plaisant au centre de Luchon, très proche des Thermes et de la rue commerçante. Il est à l'étage (escaliers). L'intérieur de l'appartement est très agréable (conforme aux photos de l'annonce). Les propriétaires sont à l'écoute et réactifs lors de demandes. Nous avons manqué de neige cette année à Luchon-Superbagnères (Noël 2015), mais la station de Peyragudes est très proche de Luchon (30 min en voiture), donc nous avons pu skier quand même. Nous recommandons cet appartement sans problème aux personnes souhaitant découvrir Luchon!

Brilliant place for an active or relaxing holiday!

We had a great time in Luchon. The apartment is well appointed and was very comfortable for the two of us. The tall french windows in the living room bring in lots of light and, left open, help to bring a breeze in to cool the flat when its too hot. It is in a quiet street with free parking just round the corner and is walkable, within 2 mins, to all that Luchon has to offer, restaurants, ski slopes, mountain bikes, tennis, golf and the amazing Vaporarium.

Spacious and modern appartment conveniently locate

Myself and family recently stayed in the appartment and it was perfect base for our skiing trip. The apartment is in a great location just short walk from high street and ski cable car. The apartment was clean modern and well equipped which included DVD player, iron and hairdryer. We would recommend to friends and relatives !

Very nice situation

Appartement tres bien situe au coeur de Luchon.propriétaires tres attentifs et adorables bien que residant en Angleterre..tres bon contact par mail.

Nous avons passe 5jours tres agréables avec nos 2 ados.

Au pied du téléphérique (5min à pied), à 1/2h en voiture de Balnea, bains de toutes sortes, et à 250m des thermes de Luchon.

Pour info, nous pensions d'abord que le " linge de maison inclus " signifiait draps et serviettes inclus dans le tarif comme indiqué,mais renseignements pris aupres des propriétaires il s'est avéré que par "linge de maison" il fallait comprendre : fourniture des couettes et des oreillers seulement, à savoir quand vous ferez vos valises!

A part cela et le poignet casse de notre fille, l'appartement nous a beaucoup plu!

Encore un tout grand merci à Fay et David.

Si nous devions retourner à Luchon un jour, ce serait là!!

Skis and bikes (mountain, road) are available for hire in the town. Canoeing and rafting can be booked locally. There is an equestrian centre just outside of town. Golf, tennis, open-air swimming , climbing wall, mini golf and children's play facilities can be found in the nearby park. The thermal baths offer many relaxing treatments.
