Let us welcome you to Two Rivers and to a relaxing stay at the Cottage at Blue Heron Haven!
I grew up in Two Rivers and my husband, Chris grew up in Manitowoc. I am an educator who spent most of my teaching career at the University. Chris is a college administrator. We have 4 young adult children. We enjoy camping, reading, movies, cycling, and other outdoor activities.
Christopher & Kim Beloin purchased this cottage in 2014
This land has been in my family since 1946 when my grandfather purchased the original farmland upon which this cottage is located. My parents purchased the land from my grandfather in 1977 and in 1985, they built this cottage home. In 2014, we purchased the property. We share this beautiful location and cottage with those who also appreciate the wooded location and all that Two Rivers and Manitowoc County has to offer.
This cottage sits on a beautifully wooded property that is outside of the Two Rivers city limits, yet it is less than 2 miles into town. Enjoy this quiet, relaxing atmosphere that is also home to a family of Great Blue Heron that nest on this property each year.
Exceeded our expectations! From the beauty of the surroundings from the minute you wake in the morning to the comfort of the mattress as you sleep at night, the cottage provides for your every need.
We stayed at the Upper Cottage recently and loved it! It is a beautiful, peaceful place to stay. The country setting was the perfect location for our summer vacation and it is only minutes from town and from the sandy beach on Lake Michigan. The deck off the living room overlooking the pond was a great spot to relax with family, friends or a good book.
The Upper Cottage at Blue Haven was fantastic. My wife and I were in the Two Rivers area for a Green Bay Packers game. We stayed in the Upper Cottage for the two nights before the game. The place was great. It is located on an acreage just outside of town, offering the seclusion of the country but close to town.
The Cottage was spacious with everything we could have wanted. The owners have spared no expense to guess and supply the cottage with what renters would prefer in a cottage. The owners contacted us before the trip inquiring how they could make our stay at their cottage even better. They provided us with tips, coupons, and maps on things to do, places to go, sightseeing, restaurants, and more. In addition to provide us with a lot to do in the surrounding area, they made the accommodations so nice, you didn't want to leave. The cottage has a spacious kitchen and family room. Internet connection, TV with Netflix, a nice collection of DVDs, books, and more made staying in the cottage a great choice.
We enjoyed our stay in the Upper Cottage and look forward to our next visit.
I've spent summer and winter vacations at this cottage and both seasons have much to offer. The private setting is beautiful. During the summer, I've played volleyball, badminton, rode my bike around the property and into town/along Lake Michigan, walked through the woods, enjoyed viewing the pond and wildlife from the deck, had campfires around the fire pit, and more. The winter has provided me with a more intimate experience. I've used the time to take a break from the fast paced life to which I'm accustomed by spending quality time with my traveling companion(s), reading, and relaxing in my pajamas all day. Snowshoeing, ice skating, x-country skiing are also activities to enjoy.
No matter the season, Two Rivers is a welcoming community. I've been greeted by the same friendly faces at Kurtz' restaurant, the historic Washington House, the Kwik Trip convenience store, Walgreens, Schroeder's Department Store and Jerry's Bakery. The Lake Michigan shoreline is beautiful whether you're at the sand beach, out on the pier, or walking/biking on the lake path between Two Rivers and Manitowoc. I've also enjoyed a few community events such as the Cherry Festival at the Historic Washington House, the Ethnic Fest downtown and live music in the center of town.
The cottage is comfortable, quiet, clean and private. There's an open kitchen/dining room/living room area with lots of natural lighting. I've stayed in both bedrooms and have slept soundly in each one. The bathroom is large and the water pressure in the shower is good.
I highly recommend The Upper Cottage at Blue Heron Haven and am looking forward to my next stay there.
i spent three nights at this relaxing home. Sleeping 6 there is no problem. There is plenty of room to socialize inside and outside, and also space to have some quiet "relaxing time". The living room has large window that overlooks the pond. There is also a large deck outside for spending time sitting on the swing and admiring the beauty of the land. Inside, the beds are comfortable and the kitchen has everything you could want. The home was very clean and I felt very comfortable there. I loved seeing and hearing the wildlife. It added to the charm. On the property there is a swing set for the kids and a fire pit for evening enjoyment. One night we spent around the fire roasting marshmallows, hot dogs and popping popcorn. It was perfect!
Others in our party also were able to ride their bikes in the area during the day.
I also enjoyed visiting the town. We loved the beach, playing in the sand while others relaxed or waded in to the water. We shopped at the local Piggly Wiggly grocery store and ate at Kurtz's. The residents of the town are very friendly!
I can't wait to go back!
