All 4 beds have new and comfy mattresses; king, queen, and 2 twin size beds. The home comes fully equipped with bedding, towels, washer/dryer, pots/pans, outside-grill. We have had guests from all over the world and everybody loves the home, please read the reviews from past guests experiences as I believe they will be helpful. For example, this is a recent review from a guest;

It is a pleasure to write this review. We had the privilege of staying in this gorgeous home May 24 through 29 of 2016, and could not have asked for a more gracious host than Jorge. He did an excellent job of communicating with us prior to our visit, answering questions and making sure everything was ready for our arrival, plus he was just a phone call away with great suggestions during our stay. The house was everything it is purported to be and then some; it exceeded our expectations and was the perfect venue for our family reunion. It was absolutely beautiful, sparkling clean and very comfortable. This home is beautifully situated in a quiet neighborhood amidst a stunning pecan orchard. Although it dishes up a quiet country atmosphere it is just moments away from historic old town Mesilla and just a few miles from all that Las Cruces has to offer. Our family greatly appreciated this home’s spacious layout as it afforded us both the perfect space for family time as well as one-on-one conversations. We thoroughly enjoyed preparing meals in the amazing kitchen and eating in the dining room as well as out on the patio. We appreciated all the attention to details from a hair dryer and magnifying mirror in the master bath to the BBQ on the patio. We had a fabulous time. Not only did we relish living in this beautiful home, but we also thoroughly enjoyed some of what Las Cruces and Mesilla had to offer. Dinner at Andele’s Dog House and La Posta de Mesilla, lunch at St. Clair’s Bistro, walks around the neighborhood, coffee from The Bean, Farmer’s Market in both Mesilla and Las Cruces, a hike at the Mesilla Valley Bosque State Park, a drive around New Mexico State University, shopping in the Mesilla Plaza (You don’t want to miss the Chocolate Lady!), a visit to the Farm and Ranch Museum and even a trip to White Sands National Monument. We definitely ran out of time before we ran out of interesting things to do and see. Hailing from Montana, we were anxious to experience New Mexico. We absolutely fell in love with the area, its kind people, fascinating scenery and fun activities. This beautiful home was perfectly located for out-door activities as well as up-town activities, and offered up a magnificent view of the Organ Mountains. We highly recommend you stop looking any further for a great VRBO as you have certainly found a jewel in this property. Thank you again Jorge for everything!! Mike & Nancy, Montana

About Jorge Vazquez

Hello Future Guests,

I am a Las Cruces native and have been here for 28 years. I am married and have two young boys. My mom built the home next door 15 years ago and we decided to build our home in 2009. I graduated from New Mexico State University, I currently work at NMSU in the College of Business as an Adviser.

Jorge Vazquez purchased this house in 2009

Why Jorge Vazquez chose New Mexico

I LOVE THIS AREA!!! Because there are so many pecan trees nearby the temperature is a lot cooler than anywhere else in the city. We are in the Southwest desert however, the area where the home is located is very green.

Beautiful Place!

My family and I loved our stay. The house is well appointed and very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The back patio was fantastic. It's the perfect setting for morning coffee or an afternoon BBQ. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the Country Living in the City home. It proved to well stocked with many amenities that made our stay comfortable and easy. Jorge was easily accessible, accommodating, and quick to respond to any need we had. The best part of our stay was the peaceful, quiet location of this home. It is near NMSU and other local attractions, but it is tucked away in a spot that makes it tranquil and undisturbed. When I bring my family back to Las Cruces, we will stay in this home again.

Perfect for our stay.

  • 5 of 5

Although not far from Las Cruces this house certainly did have a country feel to it. It is right next and orchard of pecan trees and it was very peaceful and quiet. The house was very well equipped and maintained - and clean. It was very spacious and light. All the furniture and appliances seem very new and little used. We didn't travel into Las Cruces because we loved Mesilla the little historic town just five minutes away from the house which has a beautiful town square. The first night after driving from White Sands National Monument, which is probably one of the most spectactular places i've ever seen, we ate at the beautiful Double Eagle restaurant which was fabulous in every way. Great service. For breakfast we ate at The Shed in Mesilla which was also really good. For our second dinner after our second sunset visit to White Sands we ate at La Posta which we thoroughly enjoyed. The square in Mesilla has a cool little independent book store and a gorgeous looking church which i wish i'd had time to see inside. I have to say that we travelled north to south in New Mexico and we were so impressed with how friendly everyone was - including the owner of this house, Jorge, who was also very easy to communicate with. Thanks Jorge for a great stay.m!

This is a wonderful and beautiful property. It was very kind of the owners to have a myriad of organic foods stocked in the refrigerator and the pantry. Will return for sure!

Great December visit

  • 5 of 5

This property lived up to its great reviews! It was extremely clean and well-supplied with everything we needed for our 5-night stay. We even tried out the sleds in the garage at White Sands. The layout was very convenient for my family of four plus grandparents. It's a rural location -- on a dirt road -- that is very peaceful and convenient for exploring Las Cruces and beyond. We enjoyed many of our meals at home after shopping at the Toucan Market and Mountain View Coop. Thank you!
