What a wonderful place
From the moment we turned in to park, the house, garden and space were welcoming and warm. Our host was just the same. He sent messages making sure everything was settled. We were happy to even get a quick in-person welcome & hello, and were left wishing we had more time to chat. The interior was lovely, well appointed, and it was clear that a lot of care and creativity had gone into the design. Walking around the garden (or amazing maze as it was described one of us) was almost like a destination unto itself, with surprises and places to rest & ponder around every turn. From getting to have breakfast on the open air porch, to discussing the art in the house, we were disappointed to leave, but determined to plan our next trip back. What a wonderful place.
Lovely artistic cottage in a peaceful area with the best host ever!
Impeccable cottage with artsy interior, great verandah and lovely garden in peaceful rural part in the Hudson Valley. Owner received us warmly and is a wonderful host who gave us excellent tips for things to see and to do in the area. Would like to go back every weekend! Highly recommended. Could not have been better.
Relaxing getaway for honeymooners and couples looking for time away. Nice and quiet.
We just got married and it was marriage #2 for each of us, so instead of some crazy, full blown, chaotic, over the top honeymoon filled with itineraries and no relaxation, we chose this nice, romantic, super relaxing place to stay.
A nice care package of coffee, cookies, and sundries greeted us. Full kitchen, washer and dryer, enough air conditioning and a VERY comfy bed made it fantastic. Decor was eclectic, artsy and relaxing.
We were close enough to Albany, restaurants and shopping to feel connected, yet we were close to hiking and bird watching trails, too. On cloudy rainy days, we stayed on the sofa and watched tv and movies. In the mornings and evening we would walk out back and see lots of frogs around the pond and enjoy the stillness.
The morning of our departure we met Bobby, a very kind gentleman. His studio is right next door (separate building) and he made sure to meet us before leaving to visit with us and get feedback, too. We would definitely come back and stay again, in fact we had a hard time pulling up stakes to go back home. The only trouble we had was with getting some of the audio/video equipment to operate and having instructions on site would have been handy. (We contacted Bobby and he promptly helped us navigate the tech via text.)
All in all, a wonderful place for a couple to stay or have a quiet honeymoon!
