The largest cabin of 'Wilderness Spirit Cabins LLC'. A 759 square foot log cabin with 17 foot ceiling. Has a large loft with a king size bed. On the main floor is a living room with a futon for extra sleeping, small kitchen with full size refrigerator, full bathroom, and bedroom with a queen bed. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator, four burner electric stove and oven and sink. A microwave, toaster oven, toaster and coffee maker plus dishes and cooking pans and utensils are included. The bathroom has an antique claw-foot tub which has a shower attachment to take a bath or shower. All linens and towels are included. The deck is on two sides of the cabin with the 360 degree heavenly view. Great for sitting and enjoying the beautiful Bitterroot sunsets behind the mountains while enjoying a cup of coffee. Also outside is a dining table with umbrella and chairs, rocking chairs to enjoy the view, a charcoal grill, and a firepit with benches around it for evening enjoyment. 'Eagle Nest' sits on top of the hill behind the main house and the other two cabins. Cabin is decorated with the original watercolor paintings and limited edition reproductions of co-owner/artist, Tracy Rose Moyers, available for purchase. Located in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley, which is considered the 'banana belt' meaning the area has milder weather compared to the rest of Montana. Bitterroot is also considered on of the best fly-fishing areas in the country.
Dale and Tracy moved out to Montana from Virginia, to follow their dream of running a vacation cabin rental business. Tracy is also a professional artist that specializes in watercolor and paints the Native Americans, wildlife and landscapes of Montana. Her studio is located in the main house on the same grounds as the cabins. The couple moved to Montana the summer of 2014 and after living in their motorhome for the summer and looking at numerous properties for sale, they found just what they were looking for with this property- a log house with three cabins. The property was owned by an older woman that ran it as a bed and breakfast (Heavenly View Hideaway Bed and Breakfast) but at 75 years of age she was ready to sell and retire. Being the ideal place that Tracy and Dale were looking for.
Tracy and Dale met and dated in high school back in Virginia but when Tracy went out to Denver Colorade for Art College, they went separate ways. They dated again after Tracy graduated and came back to Virginia but at that time were on different paths, so went separate ways again. They both married other people and moved on with their lives. But 30 years later, after both happened to be divorced, they ran into one another again and the third time was the charm- they got married. Both brought two sons each into the marriage and now all four sons are grown and out on their own. That was when Tracy and Dale got the opportunity to follow their dreams and move out to Montana and start the new business, Wilderness Spirit Cabins.
Tracy and Dale Moyers purchased this cabin in 2014
After visiting Montana for the first time back in 2000, Tracy fell in love with the state. Visited again several times through the years and introduced it to Dale. Both love the beauty and mountains and rivers and lakes of the area and looked at numerous properties in the western part of Montana before finding the perfect spot. Which was this place!
The heavenly view is the highlight of this property. Also the rural atmosphere yet real close to the towns of Corvallis and Hamilton and the numerous activities that one can enjoy in the Bitterroot Valley.
I just can't say enough good about this place and the people that own it. We had fully intended to spend our first week (ever) in Montana there, and then spend the second week venturing through Yellowstone, Glacier and points East. We never left. So very thankful that the week after ours was open because we prolonged our stay for as long as we could.
First of all, Tracy and Dale are simply the kindest, most generous hosts you could ever hope for. "Accommodating" does not even come close to accurately describing them. Your comfort, your enjoyment, your stay is of utmost importance to them and it's clear the minute you meet them. Within minutes I felt as though we had just arrived to visit family. They are as involved or uninvolved in your stay as you would like them. We truly enjoyed our friendship with them and made a point of spending time with them. It's totally up to you.
The cabin is clean, it is wonderfully decorated and equipped with everything that you need. The view...oh my gosh. Words can't even describe the view. Everywhere you look...it's like looking at a painting. The sunrise, sunset, moonrise and moonset are all spectacular...if you are awake for them. We stayed in September so the temps really fluctuated. The cabin was fully equipped for all situations and we REALLY appreciated the heater under the old claw tooth bathtub!! What a treat.
The kitchen is all you need. There is a grocery store very close and a lovely CLEAN laundromat. The towns of Hamilton and Corvallis have lots of little interesting places to visit. And if you are into hiking... you will not be disappointed. But make sure you come equipped with good hiking shoes, bear spray and experience. All the trails are not for the "state park hiker". These are the real deal and will require you to travel up narrow mountain roads to find the trails head. We became better as we went, but we did realize how inexperienced we were. All the trails were within minutes. There is also great shopping, fun restaurants.canoeing, horseback riding... you name it. And Tracy has a wonderful book full of all the pamphlets in the cabin.
You truly WILL NOT be disappointed with this cabin. I suggest it for all seasons. We would love to come back in the winter. And it would be a great spot for hunters. Thank you Tracy and Dale, for making our vacation absolutely perfect.
Best views of the bitterroot valley! Sunrise and sunset were amazing. We spent each night looking at the Milky Way stretching across the sky. Just magical. And Diego the dog is our new best friend. Loved our stay
We began our week long vacation here heading for Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. If it weren't for non refundable reservations elsewhere, we would gladly park ourselves here for the entire week. Dale and Tracy are the best possible hosts one could hope for....their hospitality, kindness and helpfulness are hard to quantify here in such limited space. The cabin is wonderful...and the views are unsurpassed anywhere...truly million dollar views which we maximized of this spectacular valley and surrounding mountains...and even enjoyed the best possible vantage point to view a rare lunar eclipse. And pet friendly!! It is rare these days to find hosts as accomodating for our beloved dog who we couldn't leave home without....we could never thank Dale and Tracy enough for sharing this cabin. We are anticipating our next stay...as is our dog!!
My stay at the spirit cabins was relaxing. The owners were very nice and helpful. Our cabin was warm and inviting only cratique I'd have is a few more cookware ie pots and a couple pans other than that my stay was wonderful I'd definitely book with them again
My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Eagle's Nest. The view from the front porch is breathtaking- you'll want to spend every morning and evening just taking it in. The location is prime for exploring the bitterroot valley and the Dale and Trach are wonderful!
What a wonderful spot. Only a two night stay, but the highlight of our 10-day road trip. We had everything we needed in a clean, comfortable place, yet still felt like a country cabin. Our hosts were friendly and accommodating. Our morning coffee on the deck will remain a lifelong memory--the view of the Bitterroot Mountains was spectacular. We enjoyed hiking nearby, and exploring the small towns in the Valley. We can't wait for a return visit.
Lake Como- a beautiful lake with a sandy beach and swimming. Boat access.
Hamilton Golf Club-Open mid-March thru October. 18 hole course with par 72.
Lost Trail Power Mountain Ski Resort- located 45 minutes from cabins. Downhill skiing, snow boarding, cross-country skiing.
Missoula located 1 hour drive from cabins. Has plenty of shops, restaurants, galleries, the Univesity of Montana and the airport.
Flathead Lake located 2 hours from cabin. A must see!
Glacier National Park located 3 hour drive from cabin. Take the 'Road to the Sun' drive- breathtaking scenes and wildlife viewing.
Town of Bigfork- located 2 and half hours from cabin. Adorable little town with a quaint downtown full of galleries and little shops and restaurants. Highly recommend checking out.
