Come relax and renew in one of the oldest adobe structures in Tubac. Set on 14 acres, the home has a far-away, private feel, and yet it is only a three minute drive from the Village of Tubac. The house sits on a hill overlooking the Bosque and has beautiful mountain views from the enormous covered front porch, which spans the length of the home. The owner's home shares the property; however, it is not close by and is not visible from the guest house, affording guests maximum privacy. Meticulously restored, the home is authentically decorated in an eclectic, old-world style. No detail has been overlooked.
As you enter from the driveway, the first thing you will notice is the fabulous, gourmet kitchen and cozy dining area. The cabinetry was custom made from antique Mexican cabinets. The countertops are slate, and there's plenty of room to cook and hang out. The kitchen features a side-by-side stainless refrigerator, gas cook top and electric oven. There is breakfast-bar type seating, as well as a lovely dining table and chairs. A built-in corner desk can accommodate your laptop, and there's a pantry and laundry off the kitchen.
The master bedroom has a lovely view of the surrounding mesquite woods, and a premium Tempurpedic mattress on the king bed. There's a cozy reading corner, too. The ensuite master bath has stunning tile work, double sinks, a bidet, a skylight and a walk-in ceramic tiled shower.
The guest bedroom has a working fireplace, a queen bed, also with Tempurpedic mattress, and is decorated in soft blues and golds.
Off the hallway, and between the two bedrooms, is the guest bath. It features a huge soaking tub, exquisite tile work, and, like the rest of the home, hand carved wooden shutters, which give it a luxurious and exotic Moroccan feel.
The front entry is through an arched, double door, and opens to a huge foyer with two cushy chairs - perfect for snuggling into for a long read.
Off the foyer is the living room with another wood-burning fireplace, leather sofa, chic wing-back chair and charming armoire.
If you're looking for solitude, comfort, charm and elegance, but want to be very close to shops, restaurants, galleries, and golf, this is your place.
I have lived in the Tubac area since 1995. I am a member of the Tubac Center for the Arts and the Presidio. I am a former yoga and meditation teacher.
I love the quiet setting of this home! It's proximity to the Village of Tubac is great as well. This is a wonderful community.
This rental is not your average rental where the house was built cheap to gain the most profit. This house was remodeled with top of the line materials. Windows, doors, countertop, flooring, fixtures you name it they are the best you can buy. The interior decoration are straight out of a magazine. The patio is huge with comfortable seating, a built in fire pit for the cool arizona evenings while you watch the sunset over the mountains. The house sits on several acres for privacy and yet is only a short walk into town where you will find the people friendly and plenty of unique places to eat. Tubac is a nice small town but this rental is what makes this place special. You won't regret staying here and if friends stop by they will be amazed at what a deal this place really is.
Tubac is a short drive - about 45 minutes - south of Tucson. It is set in a lovely valley between two mountain ranges. The town of Tubac's motto - 'Where History and Art Meet' - sums it up. Tubac has numerous art galleries, the historic Presidio, great restaurants, gift shops and is also very close to the Tubac Golf Resort. A short drive to the south, visitors can cross the border to Mexico. To the east is the Arizona wine country. Santa Cruz County has many attractions.
