Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Saint Augustine - Atlantic Oaks 64A

3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, Sleeps 8

When you are looking for the perfect place to stay, our 3 bedroom home on Atlantic Oaks is the right choice. One small dog is permitted and there is a fenced in back yard!

Conveniently located in the heart of St. Augustine Beach, you are less than six blocks from the beach with all the comforts of home.

With room to sleep eight, a flat screen TV, an updated kitchen, a backyard patio, and lush landscaping, it's an ideal setting for an unforgettable vacation.

From the moment you pull into the driveway, you'll feel at home. Everything at Atlantic Oaks is welcoming, from the covered patio—a great spot for enjoying the cool breeze with a nightcap—to the sunny furnishings inside.

In the living room, there's plenty of space for the kids to sprawl out with their games, toys, and crafts while the grown-ups watch TV, curl up with a book, or stretch out for a nap on a plush couch. If you need to get-away for some alone time, then you can retreat to the sitting room for a little privacy or the upstairs den which has a sofa sleeper and TV with VCR.

The dining area and the kitchen are side by side, which makes mealtimes a snap. There’s room for four at the kitchen table, plus two stools at the breakfast bar.

Whether you plan to use your vacation to try new recipes or try new restaurants, you'll appreciate the roomy kitchen, which comes equipped with everything from a stove and a new microwave to a toaster and the all-important coffeemaker—plus cookware, tableware, and utensils, of course. With its big pantry, it's designed for a crowd—just add groceries and you're good to go!

The three bedrooms are spacious with comfortable beds as well as lots of closet and floor space. The master suite has a queen-size bed and en-suite bathroom, complete with a walk-in shower and separate garden tub.

The second bedroom has a full size bed and the third bedroom also contains a full size bed with twin trundle. A second full bathroom is near both of these bedrooms, and for extra convenience, there’s a half-bath as well.

Speaking of convenience, Atlantic Oaks has its own full size washer and dryer, so you can pack light without having to waste precious vacation time at a Laundromat. Fresh bed and bath linens will be provided for you so you don’t have to bring pillows, towels, or blankets.

Be sure to bring your swimsuit, though, because the Atlantic Ocean and the wide, impeccably maintained St. Augustine Beach are only a few blocks away down a friendly little street. When you’re not dashing into the waves, building castles in the soft white sand, or looking for shells, keep an eye out for all sorts of seabirds—and for dolphins that sometimes frolic just beyond the surf.

Atlantic Oaks is also just off the A1A Beach, which means you have easy access to so many more attractions: Marineland, multiple state parks that offer everything from biking to fishing to boating, and historic St. Augustine, the nation’s oldest city. Even the Orlando theme parks are merely a day trip away.

My name is John and my wife's name is Carolyn. We currently reside in St. John's County Florida. We moved to Florida in 2003 and have enjoyed it ever since. I served twenty years in the U.S. Navy and retired in 2007.

Why John and Carolyn Clark chose St. Augustine Area

Since moving to Florida in 2003, we soon discovered St. Augustine Beach and instantly fell in love with it. We searched for many years until we found this condo and knew we had to have it. So sit back, relax and enjoy your own ocean view.

Reviewer Comments:

I love working with vacation rentals beach properties. The company was amazing to work with after the hurricane. I had lost my home and desperately needed a place to stay with my dogs. They found one for me immediately and I was so relieved, however; the neighbors were not nearly as friendly and helpful. I felt uncomfortable walking my dogs around the neighborhood at night as well as letting them out in the backyard which is not seperated from your duplex neighbor who can see you through his sliding glass door. There were no blinds or curtains on the back window (the only window that didn't have blinds, which seemed odd). I felt exposed and uncomfortable with whomever was outside as they were able to see into the duplex at all times. I received a nasty note on my door regarding my dogs which seemed unnecessary, as I was happy to rectify. I was hoping for a low stress environment and instead I was walking on pins and needles. The plus side was the wonderful bath tub and gas stove! I do not recommend this duplex nor would I stay here again. I do highly recommend vacation rentals beach properties as it is always a pleasure to work with them.

The duplex was larger and more roomy than we expected! Plenty of sleeping space, nice neighborhood and only a short walk to the beach. We had a wonderful time.

Reviewer Comments:

Loved the house! Booking the house was easy. The only problem was we didn't get any directions as to check in procedures. We had to call as we arrived to find out what to do. This wasn't a major issue though and wouldn't stop me booking with this property again.

Reviewer Comments:

Renting this unit was easy and not complicated. There were no hidden fees in the booking process, and the rental agency was very clear and concise about the rates and fees. The property/rental unit itself is very spacious - my family had two medium sized dogs, 7 adults, and a toddler. We found the space to be very comfortable in terms of everyone getting their privacy. The unit is also not very far from the beach. I read that in other reviews people walked, but we found that to be hard due to my niece being a toddler and all of our beach gear (we had kayaks, umbrellas, chairs, etc.). We drove to the beach everyday, about a 5 minute drive to free parking. Even though the space was good for our family, I have a few suggestions to make this place more comfortable for other renters - 1) the unit was tidy but not clean (damp towels, dirty floors, dirty utensils - there was lipstick in a lot of the glasses and we basically had to wash everything we used), 2) better beds (master's room had a good bed, but the other beds were not comfortable at all) and more comfortable furniture (chair in living room was falling apart), 3) replace the missing utensils in the kitchen, and 4) get some beach toys/chairs/supplies!

Reviewer Comments:

I was recently a guest at this property, and truly disappointed in the overall upkeep and condition. The primary reason we chose this rental was for the landscaped and fenced in back yard, for our two small dogs, along with being a 5 minute walk to the beach. The main level if the house is nice and spacious, but the backyard was full of knee high weeds and sticker plants. My dogs came inside covered in stickers and crying the first/only time I took them out there. The yard is not suitable for pets or children and was completely unusable. The carpet on the upper floor was filthy and covered in stains, in desperate need of replacing, and the mattress in the master bedroom was lumpy, small and thin, like a futon mattress, making it difficult to sleep. The five minute walk to the beach was an understatement, as it took 30 minutes, and was not reasonable for the children and elderly adults who were staying with us. The hot tub mentioned in the ad did not exist, and unbeknownst to us, the owner lives in the condo right next door, and parked on the grass in the front yard of our rental property. You also share the backyard, there is no privacy or partition to differentiate the spaces. Overall it was a disappointing experience and I would not recommend this property.

Owner's Response: I think you are confused with another property. First of all, it clearly states this unit is five (5) blocks from the beach, not five (5) minutes. Second, at NO place does it state this property has a hot tub. Third, I went over and inspected the property after reading this review and found none of your claims to be substatiated. Had you contacted our office during your stay with any of these isses, we would have immediately addressed them.

A Perfect Place for a Family Vacation & get Together

  • 4 of 5

A genuinely nice and well maintained property located very close to St. Augustine Beach and downtown St. Augustine. The home was ready for our arrival and our hosts were available when need be. I would definitely recommend this property to my friends and relatives as a place to spend some rest and relaxation. While we were there we went to St. Augustine Beach which is only 6 blocks away (a quick drive or a modest walk) and explored downtown St. Augustine (specifically Saint George Street and the Castillo de San Marcos). We had a family get together here over the Memorial Day weekend and we have received calls from practically everyone that they had a fantastic time and can't wait to do it again next year.
