WELCOME TO OUR RUSTIC EUROPEAN FAMILY RETREAT!
The main stone home (L’Agave) and guest house (Petite Agave) are a mix of modern and charming old world elegance possessing incredible views of multiple Bays - Great Cruz, Chocolate Hole, Hart, Klein & Rendezvous. On a clear day you can easily see St. Croix.
Upon your arrival, you will pass through our electric gate down a secluded driveway surrounded by lush tropical plants, ending in a garden path. A stone archway and wrought iron entrance welcomes you to an expansive stone courtyard connecting the main house and the guest house. In the stone courtyard you will find a gas grill and seating for Alfresco dining. The Main two story home includes a mahogany kitchen, 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms. The Guest House provides an additional full kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, outdoor shower and room to spread out for a larger family or a group.
The property has 5 different dining options, each with its own unique character – 3 outdoor and 2 indoor. All bedrooms are air-conditioned. Fans throughout the property (inside and outside) keep the air flowing at all times. The Property has the latest WiFi technology.
Lounge in the sun or the shade on one of the many chaises and seating options available throughout the upper and lower property. Picturesque stone stairs lead from the stone courtyard down to the pool deck enabling guests to access the pool without disturbing anyone in either house. Splash in the gorgeous pool off the deck and enjoy the amazing views!
Your villa is a short ride to beaches, Cruz Bay shopping and dining. Beach towels, beach chairs and coolers are provided for your enjoyment.
Our 'On Island' family will meet you at the ferry and take you to your villa. They can assist with jeep rental, kayak & paddle board rental, restaurant reservations, and so much more!

We have been travelling to St John for over 23 years. We love to get away and unplug from our busy daily routines. During our travels and time on St John we have searched for a home that combines both old European and Caribbean charm.

Villa L’Agave is the ideal vacation home for a family or 3 couples to share .
The spacious community/living room is the perfect place to gather and dine after a day of exploring St.John .
Two of the friends in our party are gourmet chefs and they were delighted at how fully equipped the beautiful kitchen was.
When dining out was preferred, we were only 3 minutes away from Cruz Bay and its 20 very good restaurants . Being that close to the little town made shopping at the charming island boutiques and popping down for more rum very easy.
St.John is famous for its fabulous National Park beaches but the serenity and amazing views from L’Agave made it a difficult place to leave . Some days we just stayed there, lounged by the pool and grilled out in the cozy Caribbean stone garden .
No matter how we spent our vacation days, we all made it a point to be at L’Agave for the gorgeous sunsets. Some days we watched from the spacious, comfortable upper deck and other days, while floating in the pool on the lower deck.
We had a superlative time in this villa.
It felt like being in a home that is truly loved .

We had issues with large rats in the kitchen. They came in the house at night and ran along the edge of wall. I called/texted the on island property manager to make him aware of the problem. He put a electronic rat trap in the house and added bait to a rat trap outside of the house. The following day he said two rats were caught. He also addressed an issue we had with a scorpion in the house by having the house sprayed for insects. However we had cockroaches in the house, one was even found in the dishwasher. We resorted to eating out instead of using the kitchen. I sent a detailed email to the owners along with some pictures showing where I believed the rats were entering from. I never received a response from them.
St John is as lovely as ever. Everyone is working to to create a unique vacation experience. From Restaurants (old & new) to shop owners to villa owners, everyone is looking forward to greeting guests/tourists to St John.
Please remember that TV, internet & land lines may still be unavailable or spotty at times. It is a work in progress to restore 21st century technology.

Welcome (Back) to St John....
We spent the week at Villa l"Agave and we will definitely return. The house was perfect for the four of us, our children had the two rooms in the main house and we had the separate villa. The location can't be beat, close to Cruz Bay but high enough on the hill to always have a breeze. Dabney and the staff at Crandall on St. John were the best, always helpful and very friendly. Favorite places to eat were the Lime Inn, Umami, and the North shore Deli for daily sandwiches to take to the beach. This was our fifth time to St. John and this place can't be beat.
Overall we loved the house! Had an amazing view, plenty of room, kitchen well equipped, and lots of seating areas. Wished it was in walking disctance to Cruz Bay but we had a jeep so no real issue...approx 7 min away.
We had a wonderful stay. Firstly the location is truly beautiful with wonderful views from nearly the top of St John'. The location is only a 10 minute ride to Cruz Bay which has a lovely selection of restaurants and friendly small town atmosphere which is ready to party every night. The house itself is well laid out, clean and comfortable. It's quite big with many private areas. Certainly we would rent again.
This was our first time staying at Villa L'Agava and LOVED every minute. The views from the house were incredible and it was almost difficult getting motivated to leave to go explore St. John each day! The house had everything we needed for our week there - beach towels, chairs, floats for the pool, etc! We grilled out one night, but then took advantage of being close to town and going out in the evenings in Cruz Bay. We hope to get back to St. John and Villa L'Agave soon!
