This is a 2 bedroom home on one acre just a few steps from the Corrales Bosque. You can bring your bike or your walking shoes to enjoy the miles of trails in the area. Only 3 miles from Cottonwood mall, it's an oasis that's close to all the city amenities. 20 minutes to downtown Albuquerque or 1 hour to Santa Fe. You'll enjoy the large lawn, cottonwood trees and covered back porch with a gas grill. This home has WiFi, and DirectV on a 30 inch HDTV. THere is a wood burning stove and Kiva fireplace, baseboard heating and A/C. The perimeter is fenced, with an access code required for the main gate. There is a 17 acre apple orchard behind the house. The area is a haven for migrating birds, you may see Sandhill Cranes, Bald Eagles, Canadian Geese and other water fowl in the orchards depending on time of year.
This house has saltillo tile floors throughout and flagstone walkways leading up to the home. In the master bedroom there is a King bed and French doors that lead out to the courtyard. The second bedroom has a queen bed. There is no dishwasher. The house is only equipped to comfortably sleep 4 guests although it is 2300 square feet.
I've lived in New Mexico for 35 years
Gary purchased this house in 2012
I always dreamed of owning a home in this quiet and peaceful part of New Mexico
This home offers city convenience with country living
As soon as I walked in the door I knew this was the perfect place for our vacation. This was our third year staying in Corrales and although we had enjoyed staying in other properties they did not have the same feeling of being at home.
The Casita is very spacious and everything you could possibly need for a home from home relaxing vacation. The fresh eggs were an added bonus.
Although we could not get the Wifi connection to work, I realized I did not need to be "connected" and actually relaxed more because of it!
We look forward to returning next year.
Thank you again for sharing your Casita with us.

Well appointed, especially the kitchen.
Very quiet but for the distant chicken sounds and the occasional coyote howls.
Would stay there again.
My brother and his fiance live in Wichita, but had decided to get married in Corrales because she is originally from there and they both have lots of family in the area (We live in the Albuq. metro area). When we heard of their plans, we looked for a rental in Corrales that would be close to the church (San Ysidro) and the restaurant (Las Ristras) where the reception would be held, and we found the Casita Near the Bosque on VRBO. We decided that a stay there would be a perfect gift for my brother and his bride. They absolutely loved it. It was beautiful, very private, and convenient for their needs. The owners went out of their way to make them feel welcome and their stay comfortable. The couple had plenty of room to get ready for the wedding, there were many beautiful spots in the yard and nearby at the river that were great settings for pictures, and after the wedding it was just a short trip from the reception to a relaxing and romantic honeymoon. The bride and groom were extremely pleased with the house; they greatly preferred their time there to a hotel stay. My new sister-in-law said she was overcome with nostalgia for her grandfather's farm, when she and my brother would take their morning walk in the bosque, and said she would love to stay there again. We felt very pleased with ourselves for finding this place; we highly recommend it.
Gary's house was perfect for us, room to roam, have company as well as solitude. The amenities were just what we needed, the beds, baths and kitchen were a great fit for us. we even had cable TV which we don't have at home. Great comfy bed, pillows, and linens for everything. We loved the outdoor spaces as the weather was above average for the year and way better than Michigan. We spent time out on the back porch with the portable fireplace, the courtyard was a nice place for coffee in the mornings. We used the BBQ grill plenty. Gary was available whenever we needed him or had questions, dropped everything to take care of any issues we may have had. We had almost 2 months here, spent time with our daughter who lives locally, went to the national parks, Grand Canyon, Jemez Springs for a hot mineral bath and several other outings. We enjoyed the local Corrales restaurants, the Sprouts store for food, and the closeness of all the other box stores as needed. My husband did some chicken chores and we totally enjoyed all the fresh eggs, enough to share! We enjoyed our walks in the Bosque, just down the road. The yard was just starting to show signs of spring and we wish we could have stayed longer to see it all green up. My husband and I would recommend staying here to anyone and our total gratitude goes to Gary for a wonderful rental property. Thanks for sharing it with us!!!! We WILL be back!
We stayed in this charming adobe on a wooded fenced acre with our two dogs this past summer while our Corrales home was being remodeled. We absolutely loved our time there. The house is near the Bosque on my favorite street in Corrales and has easy access just a few doors away to 6 walking/biking/hiking trails in the woods along the river. The home is lovely with Mexican tile baths & kitchen, Talavera tile floors, comfortable beds and furniture and the ceiling fans, air conditioning and shady cottonwood trees, plus two pretty patios with outdoor seating and a fountain made this an ideal summer retreat for us but I can recommend this house for year round comfort as well. We enjoyed fresh eggs from the chickens and wildflowers from the yard and the access to the 16 acre apple orchard behind the house. Gary & Melissa were perfect hosts and made our stay a delight.
Perfect relaxed atmosphere in a rural NM setting with easy access to downtown Abq and to Santa Fe via the Rail Runner station in Downtown Bernalillo. We had a great time post-Thanksgiving weekend with our sister-in-law and brother-in-law. The two bedroom/two bath set up at opposite ends of the house was great for us. The house is charming in all aspects and we loved burning the fireplace in the morning while we had our coffee. We all said that we would do the exact same weekend again, all over! Spent Saturday afternoon in Santa Fe and were "wowed!" when the Christmas lights came on in the Plaza. The only negative thing I have to say regarding the house set up is that the only TV is a 32" and needs a better set up in the den area. We watched quite a few football games (or parts of them), and that was a little less than desirable. But that was minor in comparison to all the positives this place has to offer. Just loved it!
