The Cove Getaway is the perfect waterfront apartment. This delightful retreat is a cozy one bedroom, garden apartment with fully equipped kitchen, living room, bathroom , bedroom, and full laundry area; However, the real charm is the setting. With a smal (50') private beach and dock this location has it all. Walking distance from the ferry and downtown Kingston we are
close to everything but a world away. Restaurants, Pubs,
wine bar, grocery store, movie theater, hardware store, gym, medical facilities, and everything the quaint town of Kingston has to offer is walking distance. Our new community center and library opened up this April, and is a short work across the street. Parks, trails, public tennis, Paddleboard, all free and close by. These are just a few of this unique locations’ many amenities.
Specifics: One bedroom with queen bed, living room with sleeper sofa, full sized equipped kitchen, dining area and laundry room. There is a portable TV, with blu ray, WiFi, books, puzzles, tennis rackets, binoculars and bird book.
10+ steps to our private beach and dock. We currently have 1 double and 2 single kayaks that we share with our guests, plenty of places to sit, dine and relax.
Kingston is a great starting point for exploring the Olympic peninsula, Port Gamble, Hurricane Ridge, Port Townsend to name a few or you may choose to just hang out. Every Saturday, May - October the Kingston Marina hosts a Farmers Market and live music.
We love this location. We do all the things we advertise: Kayaking, biking, eating Crepes, drinking expresso, hiking, but mostly we love exploring this wonderful area. Port Gamble, Port Townsend, Point No Point Lighthouse at Hansville, Hurricane Ridge, the gardens at Heronswood and Bloedel, Hurricane Ridge, to name a few. Whale watching tours are offered summertime sadness across the water in Edmonds and in Port Townsend.
We are a couple with a couple of grown kids, on their own, and 1 aging dog, who loves greeting guests. We live in the upstairs apartment, but you will hardly know it as both are very private.
Marjorie and Mark Bellesiles purchased this apartment in 2012
This location is unique because it wants you to just hang out and relax, but it is close to so many fun areas. Besides the kayaking and long walks available, there is great bird watching. In the summertime, there is a Saturday market at the marina and live music in the evenings.
This location is a five minute walk to the ferry and marina. This make it such a unique location.
Stayed for a couple of days at the end of October. Was a delightful place when the sun shone, right on the water in a small bay. Owners offered Kayaks to renters. Next day was rainy all day and the pretty outside was of little value. This place is within walking distance to the ferry from Edmunds, which was convenient.
This was our best rental to date! Excellent hosts who thought of every detail to make us welcome and comfortable. We felll in love with Kingston ... This rental is located for walking access to ferry, restaurants, grocery, and parks. Perfect place for enjoying water views and kayaking. Highly recommend.
Majorie and Mark were very accommodating and friendly. Our place was exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated, and well stocked, even with an espresso machine. The view was breathtaking with nice and comfy outdoor seating. They have kayaks to use also. All amenities included; from towels, washcloths and shampoo in BR, to pots/pans, dishes, wine glasses, dish soap for dish washer. Even binoculars. Marjorie had everything included. So nice. Will definitely consider going back if we get back to WA.
Very well kept. Everything anyone would need, to stay a couple of days or a month. Mark and Marjorie treat you like a friend not just a customer. Our every desires were met. Kingston is a delightful area to visit.
This was our second stay here. Wowed again! Marjorie and Marc have provided for every possible need we may have and are quick to respond to questions. They are such lovely hosts! The view, covenience, and ambiance of the apartment make this one of my very favorite VRBO rentals! One can walk to shopping, restaurants, and the ferry. Already planning my summer request dates!
Marjorie and Mark are excellent hosts. They do everything they can to make you feel welcome. We had 2 adults and 2 kids (age 6 and 9) and although the apartment is a little small for 4 people, we were comfortable. There's a large dining table, and the bedroom was big enough for the adults to sleep in the double bed and the kids to sleep on the floor on air mattresses. There's only one small couch, though, so seating was a little limited. Being able to use their kayaks and life vests was awesome, and the cove is a perfect spot for beginners (my 6 yr old went out in a single for the first time!) It's also a good spot to go explore more of the area; we went hiking at Ft. Flagler and had ice cream at the charming Port Gamble.
In Kingston, from May to October, there's a farmers market at the marina, and great fishing, of course. Kingston Adventures, which is walking distance, rents stand up paddleboards, kayaks and mountain bikes. Just up the road, to the north about 10 minutes, is Hansville, with lighthouse, nature trails and parks. Also about 10 minutes by car (west), is Port Gamble, an old New England company town. There's cute shops, Olympic Outdoor Center and miles of accessible mountain bike and walking trails. Further west and north is Port Townsend is about 45 minutes by car. It's a wonderful Victorian town, with music, winery tours, and activities going on all summer and fall. To the south and west, is the Scandinavian town of Poulsbo, with marina, parks and plenty of shops and restaurants.
