About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 8

This historic country house was built in 1947. Now this charming 3 bedroom, 2 bath house is a vacation rental. Its is conveniently located directly off the Hwy 140, in Midpines, on your way to Yosemite National park and ten minutes outside of Mariposa.

Upon arriving you will be greeted by an eye appealing rock entry made from local Mariposa slate. The front door enters into a large living room. From both the living room and dining room kitchen areas you can look out the windows and observe the wild life in the meadow across the street. The large farm style kitchen is a great place for everyone to gather in. It is fully equipped for all your cooking needs. There is even a large beautiful fireplace to enjoy during the winter months.

In the back patio area there is a BBQ for outside cooking and dining. There is also a fenced yard to the side of the side of the house with an herb garden.

This country vacation rental is easy to find and is perfectly located to many attractions in the area. Yosemite is 19 miles from the house, about 40 minutes away. There is even a bus stop within walking distance from the house that can take you to and from Yosemite Park. In the spring months the Zyfer River Rafting is close by too! Mariposa is only 7 miles away. There are many cute shops and dining to enjoy. Also don't forget about the local museum and music on the green in the park during the summer. Mariposa also offers an adventurous zipline. Are you into dirt bikes and ATV's? You can bring those too. The house offers plenty of parking and the forest service trails are within a mile of the house with hours of outdoor fun trails to explore.

Nice location - not real clean

  • 3 of 5

The location was great for a visit to Mt Rainer. The weather didn't let us see the mountain. The hot tub was nice to use after a day of snow shoeing.

There was a lot of dust and dirt on top of the refrigerator when we checked in. It would have been nice to have a coat rack or hooks by the front door. We did not like the fuzzy sheets that were on the beds.

Owner's Response: Thank you Mr. Haagsma, I feel as if you may have reviewed the wrong property, as this property isn't anywhere close to Mt. Rainier, not do we have a hot tub. Maybe the property numbers got mixed up.

Photos don't do it justice

  • 5 of 5

This house is perfect, and the hosts even more so. We had a lovely time. The photos really don't do justice to how nice the home is. The only issue was that central heating wasn't out, but there were ample heaters and even a pre-prepared fire in the kitchen.

Holiday stay

  • 5 of 5

Vey nice. Would stay here again. Owners were very accommodating and decorated the house for the Holidays before our stay (complete with Christmas tree and all). It was a very thoughtful touch. It was warm enough as there were portable heaters in every room. About 45 minute drive to Yosemite during the snowy months, but not that bad. Close to town of Mariposa that had cute shops and a few restaurants to eat.

Great location with lots of charm

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay and our kids can't stop talking about it. Cozy and charming, great yard space, fun atmosphere. Personable, thoughtful and friendly hosts - we stayed over Thanksgiving and they left a turkey roaster and baster and a beautiful cornucopia and other decorations. We would love to come back and stay again!

It was really good.

  • 4 of 5

We loved the place. It was like we were in our own home. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. There were enough towels for a group of 8 adults & six kids. The price was very inexpensive considering the size of the property and the comfort we had.
