Casa del Sur is a completely and recently remodeled villa in a quiet residential area. The house has plenty of terraces on the ground floor and on the roof with a beautiful view of the sea. The inside has a very homey atmosphere. It is surrounded by a mature colorful flower garden with a large swimming pool. It is conveniently located at a 5-minute walk from the small beach of Cala Serena, at 800 m from shops and restaurants in Cala Ferrera and at a 20-minute stroll from the center of Cala d'Or.

Included in the rental price: is a maid service twice a week. Bed sheets and towels are provided. If the stay is longer than a week, there is a change of linen every week.

Guest information: In the villa are 2 guest manuals. One gives house and personal safety information as well as emergency numbers. This manual should be read upon arrival. It also contains all kind of information about the surrounding area and Mallorca in general such as maps, places to visit, markets, shops, restaurants, etc. The other manual gives practical information about equipment and utensils in the house. Please take time to consult them; both can be useful to you.

Cala d'Or: Cala d'Or is very close to Cala Serena. It is a nice and appealing little town with streets busy with people strolling and shops selling everything you dream of, at any value, from very inexpensive to very expensive. There are plenty of restaurants with menus from different countries that can appeal to any taste. You can also find bars or nightclubs to finish the evening. There is also a very good grocery store, Eroski, located at the entrance of Cala d'Or.

Other parts of Cala d'Or are residential and very quiet with beautiful houses. There are several beaches there to swim in the turquoise water of the sea. There are also possibilities to play tennis in Cala d'Or.

You will find more shops and restaurants along Cala Llonga, which is the marina of Cala d'Or where you can admire ships and yachts of any size.

At the entrance of Cala Serena is a snorkeling club.

Close to Cala Serena is a golf course, the Vall d'Or.

About Ghislaine Dallemagne

This house has been in my family since my parents built it in 1965. My family and I have been spending our summer vacations there since that time. When my husband and I both retired, we decided to spend part of the year on the island. We renovated the house so that it is comfortable both in the summer and in the winter. We enjoy going to Mallorca in the winter. We like spending time visiting different towns to get immersed in the Mallorquin culture and we go from one festival to the other. Palma de Mallorca, the capital of the island, is also a favorite spot with its museums, historic cathedral and shops. I also enjoy spending time on the terraces at the house, reading and looking at boats sailing in the sea.

We really enjoy the house and its location. It is very homey, easy to live in with all modern comfort. It is in a very quiet urbanization, away from crowds, but at a walking distance from restaurants and shops. It is second line to the sea, so we can visit the cliffs and rocks through public access points but do not have to worry about the salty water and winds, which allow us to have a very flowery garden. We have a panoramic view, looking at the mountains and the sea. We have a gorgeous and well groomed garden and we are very close to the Cala Serena beach.

What makes this villa unique

There are many things to do, depending on your interests. If you want to relax, the house has a beautiful garden, private pool and terraces with great view of the sea and mountains. If you want to go to the beach, the Cala Serena beach is a few minutes walk away. Other beaches, such as Cala Ferrera, Cala Sanau and Cala d'Or, are close and accessible with a car or by foot. As distraction, you can walk to nearby restaurants and shops, as well as to a marine diving school. The house is also very close to a beautiful golf course with a popular restaurant. It is near to some typical Mallorquin towns, such as Santanyi, Felanitx, and S'Horta. In these towns, you can enjoy outdoor markets and historic churches and streets. Harbors, like Porto Petro and Porto Colom, are also a short drive away, where you can spend time walking and looking at boats.There are also archeological sites nearby.

The living room is divided in 3 areas: a living area with sofa and armchairs facing the entertainment center, a quiet sitting area in front of the fireplace and the dining room in front of the terrace with view to the garden. The main terrace is partly covered and has table and chairs for outside meals. A covered terrace with table and chairs can be used for morning breakfast. One of the bedrooms opens to that terrace. The kitchen contains an electric kettle, a toaster, a juicer and a coffee maker. Downstairs, there are 2 of the two-bed bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, one with a shower, the other with bath and shower. The third bedroom downstairs, the one-bed bedroom, has a small en-suite bathroom, with a washing machine. The last two-bed bedroom is upstairs and is reached by an interior staircase. The upstairs bedroom has a bathroom with a shower. All bedrooms have air-conditioning. Fans are available. The pool size is 10 m by 4.5 m has varying depths: 1 m to 1.75 m.

Great property in a great location

Stayed August 2018 for 2x families, it's a great property set in large gardens with a large swimming pool, both of which are south facing so can use all day in the sun. Just a 5 minutes walk to the beach of Cala Serena which is a lovely little cove style beach with sunloungers available to rent, there is also a small beach bar selling drinks and ice creams. Supermarket is about no more than a 10 minute walk from the villa and the centre of Cala D'or is around 20 minutes walk if you cut across the beaches of Cala Serena and Cala Ferrera or about a 30 minute walk if you follow the road route. The restaurant Cala Ferrera is certainly worth visiting for the fish and paella dishes, in all it's a perfect villa in a perfect location to relax in the sun.

Beautiful House and Garden

This is a big house, with a large garden, in a lovely quiet neighbourhood. The beach is a few minutes walk away, and you can always get a sun lounger and the water was always warm! Cala D'or is 8 Euro taxi ride away, or 20 minute walk. Cala D'or is let down by the many overpriced, and really very poor restaurants, so do your research before wandering out. The supermarket is a five minute drive away, which is excellent.

The house is big and well spaced out, and very well equipped. Gardens and pool are lovely... the pool is excellent. While the house is on a corner plot, the garden is private and neighbourhood is very quiet so road noise is not an issue at all.

I cannot fault this villa really. We had a few issues and questions at the start but they were sorted very quickly.

Wonderful villa, great location

Just had a fabulous 2 week holiday. Villa is clean, spacious and in a peaceful location. Walking distance to a lovely small beach and a couple of good resturants. Great position for exploring the island. The pool was a good size, clean and lots of fun. Kids had a smashing time with lots of bbqs and outside fun. We've been going to Mallorca for 11 years now and this is definitely one of the best areas to stay. We hope to be back again next year.

Beautiful holiday home

We have just spent a week in this beautiful house. We are a family group of 5 adults and a baby the property was ideal for us. The villa is very comfortable very well maintained and very well resourced . It was spotlessly clean and the very spacious. The gardens are very pretty and there are lots of shady corners to escape the heat. The pool is large and well maintained. The house keeper, pool man and gardeners came in while we were The housekeeper Marga met us on arrival and was very friendly and helpful - nice touch of a welcome pack of water milk coffee bread jam and wine. We had good communication with the owner Ghislaine about arrival keys etc. The villa is 5 minutes walk from the pretty beach at Cala Serena it's about 10 minutes to Cala Ferrera where ther are lots of restaurants and it's a bit livelier if you carry on towards Cala D'Or. We loved the privacy, peace and quiet of this villa it made a great holiday 😎

A Lovely Villa

We have just returned from a great week's holiday at this huge villa in Cala Serena. The villa is one of the nicest we have ever stayed in and it is beautifully decorated and upkept, surrounded by a lovely sweeping garden and terraces next to a good size pool. It is clear that the owner takes great pride in the place and for good reason. It is in a quiet area and a car is pretty essential - there are a few restaurants nearby and it is quite a walk to Cala D'Or but taxis are cheap. I guess we were a bit concerned about the reported robbery but it just means exercising some care such as using the safe which is what you would do anyway. A thumbs up from the whole family and we hope to come back again in the future.

Excellent property

This property is huge, sitting on a corner plot in a quiet area near to Cala D'Or. If you want a peaceful place to stay with plenty of room then this is it. It is near enough to a few small restaurants that driving is not necessary but is also only 5-10minutes drive from the centre of Cala D'Or if you feel the need for a bit of hustle and bustle. The nearest, small, beach does get busy but with your own pool and grounds to sit in why get sand everywhere if you don't need to?

There are couple of small 'Spar' type shops with fresh bread etc each day within 5minutes walk and larger stores in 5-10minutes drive.

Accommodation was clean and tidy on our arrival plus had regular visits by a maid, gardeners and pool man.

For a chill out holiday in a homely building this is excellent.

Cala Serena is part of the Cala d'Or area with houses in Ibisenco style. It is located between the beautiful towns of Santanyi and Felanitx on the East coast of Mallorca. The background is hilly. On top of some hills are hermitages (Santuario de la Consolación), monasteries (San Salvador) or old castles (Santueri). The seashore is rocky and winding with lots of little coves, beaches among pine trees and small harbors.
