Casa del Sur is a completely and recently remodeled villa in a quiet residential area. The house has plenty of terraces on the ground floor and on the roof with a beautiful view of the sea. The inside has a very homey atmosphere. It is surrounded by a mature colorful flower garden with a large swimming pool. It is conveniently located at a 5-minute walk from the small beach of Cala Serena, at 800 m from shops and restaurants in Cala Ferrera and it is at a 20-minute stroll from the center of Cala d'Or.
Included in the rental price: There is a maid service twice a week. Bed sheets and towels are provided. If the stay is longer than a week, there is a change of linen every week.
Guest information: In the villa are 2 guest manuals. One gives details and safety information for you and about the house, as well as emergency numbers. It also contains all kind of information about the surroundings and Mallorca in general such as maps, places to visit, markets, shops, restaurants, etc. The other manual gives practical information about equipment and utensils in the house. Just take time to consult them, both can be useful to you.
Cala d'Or: Cala d'Or is very close to Cala Serena. It is a nice and appealing little town with some streets busy with people strolling and shops selling everything you dream of, of any value, from very inexpensive to very expensive. There are plenty of restaurants with menus from different countries appealing to any taste. You find there bars or nightclubs to finish the evening. There is also a very good grocery store, the Eroski, located at the entrance of Cala d'Or.
Other parts of Cala d'Or are just residential and very quiet with beautiful houses. There are different beaches there too to swim in the turquoise water of the sea. There are also possibilities to play tennis in Cala d'Or.
You will find more shops and restaurants along Cala Llonga, which is the marina of Cala d'Or where you can admire ships and yachts of any size.
Close to Cala Serena is a golf course, the Vall d'Or.
This house has been with my family since it was built in 1965 by my parents. My family and I have been spending our summer vacations since that time. When my husband and I both retired, we decided to spend part of the year on the island. We renovated the house so that it is comfortable both in the summer and in the winter. We enjoy going to Mallorca in the winter. We like spending time visiting different towns to get immersed in the Mallorquin culture and we go from one festival to the other. Palma de Mallorca, the capital of the island, is also a favorite spot with its museums, historic cathedral and shops. I also enjoy spending time on the terraces at the house, reading and looking at boats sailing in the sea.

We really enjoy the house and its location. It is very homey, easy to live in with all modern comfort. It is in a very quiet urbanization, away from the crowd, but at a walking distance from restaurants and shops. It is second line to the sea, so we can visit the cliffs and rocks through public access points but do not have to worry about the salty water and winds, which allow us to have a very flowery garden. We have a panoramic view, looking at the mountains and the sea. We have a gorgeous and well groomed garden and we are very close to the Cala Serena beach.
There are many things to do, depending on yours interests. If you just want to relax, the house has that beautiful garden, private pool and terraces with great view of the sea. If you want to go to the beach, the Cala Serena beach is a few minutes walk away. Other beaches, such as Cala Ferrera, Cala Sanau and Cala d'Or are close and accessible with a car or by foot. As distraction, you can also walk to nearby restaurants and shops, as well as to a marine diving school; it is also very close to a beautiful golf course with a popular restaurant. It is near to some typical Mallorquin towns, Santanyi, Felanitx, and S'Horta. In the towns, you can enjoy outdoor markets and historic churches and streets. Harbors, like Porto Petro and Porto Colom, are also a short drive away, where you can spend time walking and looking at boats.There are also archeological sites nearby.

I would like to extend our appreciation for having been allowed renting your nice property in Cala Serena to our 1 st week in Mallorca. We enjoyed it very much; the house is very well equipped and the regular caring of the house and garden was also giving us all a memorable week. The location was superb with the short walk to Cala Serena. Cala D’Or is also a very nice town and which pleased our sons and daughter much. Being back after more than 20 years interval was a pleasure.
In summary, we are all very pleased and will consider to revisit another time; next year may be?
We had a great week in this property. Welcomed by the helpful house keeper (who also visited us twice during the week to change towels and clean) and a welcome kit in the kitchen including something to eat and drink. Very appreciated after a long journey.
The house lived up to its expectations. It is beautiful, clean, and the kitchen very well equipped. Both children and adults enjoyed the pool and relaxing on the sun lounger. There were several nice beaches and restaurants nearby.
We highly recommend this wonderful place and would love to come back!.
We enjoyed a great week in this property during our 3 generation family trip. Welcomed by an easy key transfer system and a nice bottle of wine as welcome present (THANK YOU) the vacation started the minute we arrived.
Every one (starting from age 7 up to 70+ years old) loved this place. The remodelling gives the house a nice touch, not loosing its mallorquin style. The garden is beutiful and the gardener waters it very caringly every early morning so that it remains beautiful even in hot summer time. -watch the floor if you walk barefoot, some cacti are spreading throughout the gras) Our sweet housekeeper stopped by twice for changing the towels and a little cleaning. The rooms are nice and open. Every room with a double bed has it's own nice and clean bathroom. The single room has a toilet room additionally.
We enjoyed the very well equipped kitchen and the BBQ a lot. Of yourse the pool was a highlight for the kids as well while the adults could relax on the sunlounger.
A very nice restaurant ( Cala Ferrera) (!) with Tapas, fresh fish and Paella (order in advance) is only a 5 min. walk away. Same with Cala Serrena which is small but cute. The next small supermarket can be reached within 5-10 minutes walking distance. By car you can reach the next big eroski supermarket within 5 minutes as well. 2 diving centers are a 5 min walk away as well. This corner of Mallorca is great for dicovering all the little cute bays around the south/eastern coast.
We can only recommend this beautiful place with its great and big garden, the big terrasse and the lovely interior in a nice and calm surrounding.
Cala Serena is part of the Cala d'Or area with its houses in Ibisenco style. It is located between the beautiful towns of Santanyi and Felanitx on the East coast of Mallorca. The background is hilly. On top of some hills are hermitages (Santuario de la Consolación), monasteries (San Salvador) or old castles (Santueri). The seashore is rocky and winding with lots of little coves, beaches among pine trees and small harbors.

For booking less than 8 weeks before the arrival, the total rental price should be paid in one time. Cancellation between 8 and 6 weeks before arrival is subjected to a refund with a 30 % cancellation/processing fee on the remaining 75 % paid. Less than 6 weeks before arrival, there will be no refund. It is recommended that you consider buying travel insurance to protect your payment.
The rental rate reflects the price per week. There are discounts for stays longer than a week. There is a 25% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking, the balance (75%) being due 8 weeks before arrival. Except for special arrangements agreed upon in advance, if the balance is not paid on time, the contract will be void and the house will be immediately made available for rental to others.
