About Alessandra Vegro Amistani
I have the luck of living in one of the most beautiful places in Italy, famous for Prosecco and conveniently located between Venice and the Dolomites. I love sharing my passion for the area, a take great pleasure in seeing my guests also fall in love with the magic of the Asolo hills. Other than hosting on Homeaway, I run a company that produces high quality local prosecco and extra virgin olive oil from the groves at the foot of Cima del Pomer. I look forward to sharing the magic.
Why Alessandra Vegro Amistani chose Monfumo
Villa del Pomer was the family home in the countryside. Our family grew up here surrounded by nature allowing the kids to enjoy the outdoor life while as parents we could relax safe in the knowledge all was well. After the family had grown up we thought we could share some of that happiness by letting the place to holiday makers so they could taste the Venetian countryside and experience the magic of the Asolo hills. We still visit our home and it brings back happy times. I am sure that when you leave you’ll have great memories to take back with you.
What makes this House unique
Local restaurants can provide a taste of the real Veneto, and culture can be further savoured in the nearby picturesque hilltop town of Asolo. A twenty minute drive away is the historic town of Bassano, rich in architecture, atmosphere and great for shopping! Valdobbiadene, the home of Prosecco, is also close by and the magic of Venice itself is only an hour away.

Beautiful! but a bit hot and buggy (during heat wave)
We had an amazing time in Monfumo. The house and property are kept very nicely. It was so nice to be greeted with fresh flowers and a few essentials. It really felt like a home away from home. The home has unique built in closets and drawers and beautiful wooden arched doorways. The pool was clean and incredibly refreshing. The porches were lovely and accommodating. My only criticism was that the property didn't have air conditioning or fans and the front rooms didn't have screens in the windows. We happened to be there during a heat wave in July, so the temperatures were in the mid 90's all week. While these temperatures are likely atypical, having some fans at the house would be helpful in my opinion. Also to keep cool we opened the windows in the evenings and since the front room had no screens we had mosquitoes and large wasps entering the home.
Other than that the home is absolutely delightful! We especially enjoyed using the espresso machine in the mornings and swimming in the pool.
This property exceeded our expectations (which were pretty high to begin with!). The home itself is lovely, with tasteful furnishings, and everything required for cooking and enjoying as if it were your own, but what we loved most were the grounds themselves, which are not only beautiful, but beautifully maintained. To enter the estate, automatic gates swing open and as you drive up a short shaded lane, you feel you've entered a different world.
Afternoons by the pool we tried several of the Cima Del Pomer proceccos--the extra dry, dry, and Brut. All were wonderful, though my wife favored the Brut and the extra dry ranked first in my rankings. Made me yearn for Indian food, which would've been the perfect complement to all three of these wines.
My wife was doing research about Robert and Elizabeth Barrett Browning, who spent extended time in nearby Asolo, which turned out to be a nicely preserved little hill town with excellent food, friendly locals and lots of walking paths. We hiked up to the Venetian-built fortress and were rewarded with spectacular views.
Finally, it was especially fun meeting Alessandra and her charming husband and daughter. We dropped by the winery and enjoyed sitting in the kitchen chatting with Alessandra about kids, dogs and Italian politics, which was the perfect way to end a perfect stay.
Thank you so much for your review.
We were very pleased to read that you appreciated your time with us and are very happy to see that you enjoyed Prosecco in our 'cucina' after your visit to the 'cantina'. It was a pleasure talking to you about your work and of course the studies you are doing on Venice and Asolo. We are always happy to welcome such interesting guests and for us hearing you had a relaxed and enjoyable experience is a source of great satisfaction. We hope to welcome you again soon!

Idyllic Italian Country Living
After a wonderful week in Venice, my family of four arrived at this incredible gated property in the beautiful hills outside Asolo. We were met by our most gracious and charming host, Alessandra who is a font of knowledge about the whole area.
The house is a spacious, comfortable, immaculately clean, and exquisitely decorated country house. The outside is as inviting as the inside with comfortable seating and beautiful views everywhere. Just strolling around the property admiring the views is a treat. You can sit out on the terrace until late into the night reading under the ample lighting. Then in the morning stroll down to the gate and pick up the fresh bread Alessandra has delivered. My teenage boys loved that.
The location is perfect for any number of day trips to the fascinating old towns like Bassano del Grappa, Castlefranco, Cittadella, Feltre, etc. or to the Belluno Dolomites or Mt Grappa. And it's basically right next to old town Asolo which is a great place to walk around and have a drink on the terrace of an old castle or a meal in an amazing restaurant-Alessandra knows them all and is happy to help with reservations, suggestions, whatever you need.
My only regret is not getting a chance to visit the family winery. Because, last but not least, Alessandra has a line of amazing Prosecco which just happens to be one of my favorite wines.
You'll be in good hands and in a great place if you choose to stay here.
My home has been left perfectly. It is always a pleasure when people are experienced travellers.

"The property was really nice. As our expectations were quite high because of nice pictures and advertisment, property meets all our expectations and was even better. House was really spacious with nice corners to discover. We especially enjoyed terrace and our children more or less live in a pool. Even though it is surrounded by houses in the neighborhood; it was really private with a garden. There was lot of nice small towns/ villages around to discover with nice restaurants to go out for dinner. And Venice and Dolomites were also nearby. Was a great holiday."

Arriving from Venice or Treviso please drive north in the direction Feltre and join the centre of the small town of Cornuda and meet us in front of the church.
ASOLO AND SURROUNDINGS
This is the place of the famed Palladio Villas.
Located among Padova, Treviso and Venezia, in the Veneto region (North east Italy), the medieval town of Asolo is a perfect choice for an unforgettable holiday. Historical memories and beautiful scenery, medieval walled towns and Palladian villas blend into the magic landscape surrounding Asolo.
Dating back to pre-Roman times, Asolo has had many famous people as residents, including the English poet Robert Browning. At the end of the 1400's, it was home and prison to the Queen of Cyprus, Caterina Cornaro, who had a castle named after her that is now open to the public. Other notable sites include the Cathedral, which was built in 1747, and the City Museum. Asolo is also a great place to take peaceful walks to enjoy the scenery. During the summer months, there are live concerts and music festivals. Fabrics and embroidery, hand-painted ceramics and antique furniture represent the Asolan handicrafts: a treasure of an ancient knowledge to discover in the heart of the town:
- The Embroidery School of Asolo for linen, lace and artistic ornaments.
- The colourful ceramics for beautiful vases, and the finely painted cups.
- the antiques market (second Sunday every month), for furniture, pictures, jewellery in the many antiques galleries under the porticoes and in the squares of the city centre.
The charm of Asolo attracted many intellectuals and artists they included Robert Browning, Eugene Benson, Igor Strawinsky, Ernest Hemingway…....
