A Rich History

__ Designed in 1892 by Edward Clark, architect for the US Capitol at the turn of the 20th century, the buildings were interconnected and served as a home for himself, his brother James “Champ” Clark, Speaker of the House (during Teddy Roosevelt’s Presidency), and a third brother, known as 'the artist.' In the 30's it was converted into rooming houses for J. Edgar Hoover's G-men. In the 1960's, the student leaders of the protest movement lived here, as documented by Norman Mailer.

__ The Mansion is proud to have been called home by Mrs. Rosa Parks — who lived here for 10 years and hosted political leaders, dignitaries, and religious leaders with us. Every former President (except our current President) since Teddy Roosevelt has visited The Mansion.

__ Meticulously refurbished with style & imagination, this luxury property retains many of it's period details (including original Tiffany stained glass windows) and incorporates all the modern conveniences – including state-of-the art technology. A haven for heads of state, writers, foreign dignitaries, business leaders, artists, musicians, scientists, and members of the entertainment industry, The Mansion offers privacy, security, and distinctive amenities, all in an environment that is nothing short of magical.

__ This spectacular residence includes 20 bedrooms, 70 secret doors, 32 bathrooms, 10 whirlpool tubs, 6 steam showers, 2 rain showers and sauna, 11 kitchens, 2 elevators, secret wine cellar, 11 special event rooms, 18 fireplaces, 3 laundry facilities, 2 business centers, game room, exercise room, extensive gardens, outdoor year-round unheated pool, outdoor BBQ and fountain from Paris. Pet friendly.

__ Our expansive footprint includes sunny conference rooms, special event galleries, and a host of unique spaces ideal for entertaining, generating new ideas, motivating teams, rewarding employees and getting things done. Facilities for live music and dancing are available. The Mansion is where CEO's inspire their employees. It's where business associates and friends meet for drinks. It’s where artists and authors find their muse. It’s where families gather for Sunday brunch. And it’s where the music plays on, beyond forever.

__ At The Mansion we believe if we are true to our vision, committed to our path and willing to share ourselves, we all can achieve things beyond what we know. We encourage being yourself, support creativity and embrace passion of expression.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The coolest hotel in DC! Roaming the halls of the Mansion was fun, picking up guitars, tuning and playing them was great. Very quiet and peaceful for a downtown location.

Looking forward to my next stay, plan to bring others to your facility.
