Wonderful location ,
Very clean, had everything we needed for a city break! We arrived early and left late, owner very, very accommodating. We will certainly return.
Spacious, historic, clean, central
Good apartment for cleanliness, central location.
Nicely equipped, great view of River Arno from bedroom.
Do not stay here!
My friend and I were on a dream trip to Europe and had booked and paid for this apt back in August. We arrived in Florence to horrendous rain and lightning..I called Guisi and said we were 15 minutes early. She said she would be there to let us in in about 30 minutes....we stood outside in the pouring rain for more than an hour when her cleaning woman came and got us. The apartment was not ready....it was filthy and the bathrooms were disgusting. We were extremely disappointed but left our luggage and headed out to explore Florence....while the cleaning lady got to work. That night we came back to the apt building around 10 pm and we couldn't get into the building with the keys we were given....I called Guisi and she insisted we had the correct keys and also hung up on me. We were desperate to get in as it was still raining and we had a long travel day. Luckily we met a couple Italians walking by who tried the keys with no success. I had her call and speak to Guisi in Italian and she continued to insist we had the right keys....seriously??? Four different adults tried to get in!!! Guisi hung up again on this Italian girl! Any normal person would have apologized and gotten in the car to bring a working set of keys ....but no....she just kept insisting the keys work and hanging up on us! Where were we to sleep ? We were appalled ! Finally one of the residents exited the building so we were able to sneak in the bldg and go to the apt to gather our luggage. By now it's 11 pm and we are tired travelers ....we found another place to stay. I let Guisi know we wouldn't be staying in a building where we could not get in to our apt and requested a refund of the 3 nights I had paid for. She continued to say that the keys worked!! Do not trust this woman....the apt is represented as a 3 bedroom and it is a 2 bedroom! We were appalled at how we were treated and the two Italians that tried to help us were shocked too! I am still trying to get my money back from this woman. What a sad beginning to our trip to Florence......FYI....the rest of our trip was fabulous and we were so impressed by the warmth of the Italians we encountered.....just unfortunate that it started out with this incident. Do not rent this place!
I have never heard so many false claims all together!!!When Ms. Lisa says “do not trust this woman” perhaps she talks about herself.First, I have rent the apartment on HomeAway and Homeliday since 2007 and in 11 years it has never happened something like that. The keys I provide (3 equal bunches) have always been working for everyone! Not to mention that the building has a doorman and there is also another key that opens the back door of the building, with explanations attached to it.
Maybe Ms.Lisa had already decided to stay at another place but,as she could not cancel and terminate the rent since the cancellation period was already expired, she probably came with the intention of finding a way to cancel the reservation while also getting a refund.
Going back to the facts, Ms. Lisa arrived long before the scheduled time (hours, not minutes) and found the cleaning lady who kindly let her and her friend in to drop their luggage.
The cleaner was still working because the previous guests had just left the apartment, but the house would have been perfectly clean for the agreed time of Ms. Lisa’s arrival.
They took the keys (which, I repeat, perfectly work) and then never called me.At 12.44am I received a message on HomeAway saying that they could not get in. I offered to stop by, but they replied that they had already packed their stuff and left, and that they wanted to be refunded.I proposed to meet the next day at the apartment to figure out what the problem was, but they never answered.By the way, how did they manage to get in and to take their luggage? And why leaving if they had finally entered and had 3 bundles of keys available? I never received reply on this.In the morning I went to the apartment to see.The apartment was clean, and the keys worked. I invited the ladies to meet again, since they had to stay few more days in Florence anyway, and to solve the problem, but they said they would not come because they were not available at any hour. They added that had I not reimbursed them, they would have written a bad review(this is all documented on HomeAway mail).Among other things, the day after I asked around, but none of the other tenants of the building helped them. Besides how could they find another place to stay during high season at night? And why did they leave if they were in apartment?Don't host these people! They will cause you problems and they will try to force you to do as they want, or they will make a bad review!Look all my review 5stars
Amazing Firenze location river view from master.
We had a great stay overall. Apartment has a lot of space to relax & enjoy down time. This is a two bedroom unit with a sofa in living room. Full kitchen (small but efficient) and formal dining room area. Has two singles in second bedroom and Master suite upstairs was very open, lots of storage & amazing views, great light.
One downside to our experience was the intrusion of mosquitoes. Windows do not have screens & there may be standing water in corridor downstairs; may be something to look into, improve upon/consider to mitigate mosquitoes.
Thank you for the time here! We would definitely return!
Very lovely apartment
Amazing apartment! It had several rooms, including kitchen, very cool dining room, living room, and several other rooms. Bedroom window looks across the river to the Michelangelo Piazzale. It’s in a very very old, interesting building. Definitely enjoyed our time there!
Lovely apartment in great location
This spacious apartment was a great homebase during our 4-5 day stay in Florence. Master bedroom is huge, with lots of room and closet space to unpack and get organized. Lofty painted ceiling, too! Kitchen and laundry space clean and efficient, with separate dining room (very nice) allows one to save a bit of time or money on meals, with some small grocery stores nearby.
-view over Arno River from master bedroom window.
-10 minute walk to major sites
-quiet location, just far enough from the chaos of "downtown" to get a much needed reprieve from sightseeing/shopping
-safe area and classy building
-friendly and accommodationg owner (by email)
-two bathrooms (upstairs one is a bit small)
No significant negatives.
Best for two people, but would be good for four.
