the casita in westbrook village was all that we had hoped for and more... the owner was courteous, and helpful from our first contact throughout our stay and we look forward to staying there again! the casita was well-furnished and very clean and made us feel very comfortable.
Property was dated and a bit musty from being shut up for so long. We stayed 9 days and were only there early and late. Condo was pretty clean, and only problem was turning on water, water heater etc. as a rental you want it to be ready for you when you arrive. Owner was very cordial and cordial.
We stayed two weeks at this condo in Westbrook Village. We chose this particular property because of it's proximity to Peoria Sport Complex and the fact that we have several friends from Seattle area who either own or rent in this 55+ community.
The beds were comfy, air conditioning worked very well and property was unexpectedly well-stocked with staples in the kitchen. It appears to us that perhaps the current owners purchased this property in an estate sale - fully furnished, etc. The furnishing were of very good quality, but quite dated. We liked the location across the street from one of several community swimming pools and frequented that regularly.
Within a mile, or so, are many restaurants, a very large Fry's grocery store (wine and liquor) and many strip mall eateries, i.e., Subway, pizza shops and fast food places. At, or near, the Peoria Sports Complex were many restaurants, including Chick-Fil-A, In and Out, P F Changs. During spring training, all of these restaurants tend to be overcrowded and understaffed. This is not really related to this specific property, but about local crowd conditions.
The location this property is about 2 miles from the AZ 101 Loop freeway, from which you can connect to any of the other main freeways though Phoenix area. We allowed an hour to get to Sky Harbor airport in Phoenix and had plenty of time to spare.
We had a problem with the cable from Cox Communications (a bad thing if you wanted to watch local sports and news). We contacted Cox Communications and the owner. Within a couple of days, the problem was resolved. Overall, the entire condo was well decorated and complete. Oddly, on the last evening, the television(s) in the living room and master bedroom lost the signal from Cox Communications. Oddly, the television in the front bedroom worked properly. We again called Cox Communications and they remotely tested the circuits and were unable to diagnose and/or correct the problem. Cox recommendation was for a technician to visit the property to correct the issue. However, we were leaving the next morning at 08:00 and were unable to schedule a repair visit. I advised the owners about this Cox Communications problem and assume they will have it corrected before the next tenants arrive
The only uncorrectable drawback we found was the noise from the main roadway immediately behind the condo. Because of traffic noise, we were unable to leave the sliders open in the evening (for fresh air).
