About Frédérique or Joël Jayer
Why Frédérique or Joël Jayer chose Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne
In order to keep renovating an important group of buildings and walls and to make it useful, pleasant and liveable.
What makes this Chateau / Country House unique
This ancient place has been chosen for its location and its unobstructed views. It belonged to great figures (including the Prince of Orange, one of the most important lords of Europe during its period, founder of the famous Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert Abbey, cousin of Charlemagne) and it was a refuge for local people during some troubled periods. Despite the destructions caused by villagers during the Revolution, it stands and impresses with its façade, its imposing arches and its architectural details including its “coquille”. All this can be seen from several km away, decorating with its silhouette the old village that the château, former fortress, brought to life.

Amazing Place !!
We booked the property for our wedding for 30 people during Easter weekend and were amazingly surprised by the beauty of the place, view.. The owner is really nice and always here to help of needed. I would definitely recommend it!
Il est très gratifiant de recevoir des personnes qui savent apprécier la maison et les efforts de ses propriétaires pour la rendre agréable.
My family and friends stayed here for 2 weeks and we cannot say enough about the setting, beauty and history of the place. It was extremely well equipped and the owners, who live in a part of the old Chateau, are discreetly there to help and answer any questions. Prior to arrival we also received a lot of help from Joel (owner) regarding caterers (which we used for 5 dinners), babysitters and other facts about the village. Chateauneuf de Gadagne has shops where one can buy most things and there is a supermarket about 4 kilometres away in Thor. A superb Michelin listed restaurant is just 5 minutes walk away and there are other good restaurants in the village and area. The facility has a superb pool and children spent hours playing there. Avignon is 20 minutes away by car and there are lots of other place to see within an easy drive. We had bikes and Chateauneuf de Gadagne is connected to a series of bike routes on quiet roads that take one to Thor, Isle sur la Sorgue and Fontaines de Vaucluse - great biking. Lots of wineries within a few kilometres where can taste and buy wine. A wonderful property where we spent a wonderful vacation.
It is a true pleasure to share one's property with people who can appreciate the efforts to manage them comfort and quietness.
Thank you to that nice family to give us the taste to carry on.
Amazing 7th century (or older) retreat on a secret and undiscovered pinnacle of Provence
Although somewhat rustic, this property has everything you need for a large family / group holiday. Steeped in history from Charlemagen through to the WWII (including particular but not obvious interest to Dutch guests), this house is still occupied by the 5th generation of a local french family who are more than willing to share its history (if you want of course).
The house is incredibly well equipped and if you are missing anything the owners are always available to help if needed; they remain discreet yet present.
Are you kidding me!!!
This was the most wonderful place you would ever want to stay!!! The owners are absolutely fabulous and friendly. The home is just WOW!!! This is a place you would want to spend months at a time enjoying. We had 10 people stay in May for 4 nights, and it made us cry to leave. Both because of the beauty of the facility and the surrounding views, but mostly because of the way we were treated by the owners.
Three words to describe our stay!! WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!! Thank you so much
Nous avons passe un excellent moment dans un endroit magnifique . Merci aux propriétaires pour leur gentillesse.
Un site a recommander vivement ...
