This property is located about 12 miles north of Marinette Wisconsin on the Menominee River. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, with about 1500 square feet of living space. There is a spiral staircase going up to the second floor bedroom that has a bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub and a screened in porch. The living room has a wood burning fireplace and a kitchen with a breakfast bar and door leading out to a deck with a river view. The house sits on 4 wooded acres and has about 320 feet of river frontage. The house is on a corner, so the river wraps around the house with breathtaking views looking south, east, or west. The fishing is outstanding, with groups sometimes catching 100 Smallmouth Bass fish daily. There are rock outcroppings that extend out from shore, drop-offs, and varying currents everywhere making for an enjoyable fishing experience, especially for people that like to wade. Kayaking and tubing down the river, letting the current take you is also a great activity. We will provide 2 kayaks, a canoe, a non-motorized fishing boat, and some tubes to make your experience on the Menominee river a memorable one.

Perfect place for 4 of us to stay for a weekend of Smallmouth Bass fishing.
Great place for weekend fishing trip. Float fished from upriver down to the house and later from the house to a takeout downriver. Caught some of our biggest fish right out back. Fully stocked with equipment for us to cook our meals. Grilled on the Weber 2 nights and sat out at night around the fire pit. Loved it!
A great place to stay
We had a wonderful time at Tinker's Dam!!! The house was clean and well stocked with the things we needed for all our cooking. It was truly 'up north'!!! Karen came over and made sure we had all the information we needed!! The squirrels did seem to have it in for us though, and bombarded us with acorns!!! All in all...a great experience!
Excellent vacation on the Menominee River
Our family (five of us) spent 4 days at Tinker Damn and had a wonderful time. The house is very nice, maybe a little limited on space to put your groceries, but overall clean and comfortable. We had fantastic weather and were able to spend every day swimming and fishing on the river. We saw at least 2 eagles every day and deer across the river every day. Karen was a great host, around if you needed her but not around so much as to be in the way. She drove us up river one day and we had a nice tube ride back to the house. Overall, I would highly recommend renting this property!
Great private and secluded get away; right on the Menominee River.
We stay every year at a VRBO property while our daughter is at camp for a week in July, usually within 100 miles or so of the Crivitz area. This property is outstanding and as others have mentioned, very well stocked.
Karen was very accommodating, easy to reach and made herself available to give us a ride to pick up our truck after we meandered down the river in the two kayaks.
We biked one day near the property on some country roads and saw roughly 30 deer; if you stay at the property, look in the journal, we mapped out a 10 mile bike route with little or no traffic. If you need to get a bike fixed, change a tire....Cycle Path (I know, weird name) in Menominee, MI was a great place to go. Bill, the owner helped fix one of our bikes and did it same day.
Another day we visited the "Forgotten Winery" in Peshtigo and the Candy Bar (good home made chocolate treats) in Marinette. Both owned and run by entrepreneurial couples. Had a great conversation with both owners and heard their business stories. Love supporting local business. The owner of the Candy Bar; former Vietnam Army Veteran; he and his wife started the business from nothing. Great people and a wide variety of good treats!
We hiked Thunder Mountain and visited Dave's Falls. Bring your suits if the weather is right, lot of spots to go for a swim and lay in the sun at Dave's Falls. We didn't bring our suits and regretted not being able to jump in.
We fished quite a bit....some nibbles, and saw a lot of fish jumping but they stayed clear of us. We enjoyed getting a couple of poles in the water though.
However, we did catch two movies at the Phoenix Theatre in Marinette; matinee movies are very reasonable and one day of the week, you bring your own popcorn bowl and they fill it up for $2. Great deal compared to Illinois prices.
There are two very large and comfortable hammocks on the property and we took a lazy day and read on the porch facing the river and took a nap in the hammocks. We were blessed with great weather.
We had three bond fires over the course of the week and enjoyed a couple of good glasses of wine while the sun went down. Cooked in the Weber charcoal grill two nights. Very romantic getaway. Highly recommended.....we will be back. Thanks Karen for being so easy to work with, easy to reach and quick to get back to us when we e-mailed you.

My family spent a week at this house, and were very pleased with everything. The kitchen was well stocked with necessary items, the beds were comfortable, there were plenty of towels, and the river access was the icing on the cake. Karen, the caretaker, lives next door and was extremely helpful and friendly. We borrowed several kayaks so all 5 of us could be on the river together, the provided grill was used nightly as was the croquet set and hammocks. Lots to do nearby, but if you want to relax in the summer, this is the place for you.
We had a wonderful time staying at the cabin. It was close to lots of hiking and sightseeing and all of the waterfalls. Karen was absolutely wonderful and so helpful, as well as going above and beyond what would be expected for a property owner. The cabin was very well stocked and very roomy. We enjoying grilling almost every night and having campfires as well. The only reason it got a 4-star instead of 5 was that towards the end of our stay it got unusually hot and had heat index values of over 100. The downstairs was hard to cool off, though my son LOVED the new AC upstairs. Otherwise, it was the perfect cabin and vacation location!
Fishing on the Menominee River, and relaxing on 4 acres by the campfire with a fantastic waterview are the reasons most people choose to stay at Tinker's Dam. Off the property, there are many activities in the area. There is a wonderful family zoo less than 10 miles away which will not disappoint. Marinette county is the waterfalls capital of Wisconsin, and there is also whitewater rafting in the area.
