Overview

About the property

"Villa Fabrica is located in the traditional village of Anopolis, just 15 minutes from Heraklion airport and 5 minutes from the sandy Kokkini Hani beaches. Is a 100-year-old stone building, originally used as an olive factory, carefully restored into a traditional rustic style two-storey house suitable for 2-6 persons. It is quietly located in the village of Anopolis about 100 m from the village square. In the village one finds several cafenions, tavernas and a minimarket. Further shops, supermarkets, bars, ATM, can be found in Kokkini Hani some 3 km away, with a selection of local beaches. The gate opens into a small yard from where one enters the house. On the ground floor is a spacious and comfortable furnished living room and dining room with wooden ceiling, TV,stone built fireplace, separate WC with washing machine. Next to it is a cosy terrace full of flowerpots and surrounded by a small garden,a BBQ and a stone oven. The perfect place to unwind, after a long day's journey. The open plan fully equipped kitchen with dining room too is separated from the living room by a stone archway. From the living room a spiral staircase leads to the first floor into the bedroom with 2 single beds. A large veranda facing the Dikti Mountains and the Monastery of Agios Ioannis can offer an amazing view over the countryside. Next to it there is a separate bedroom with double bed, a bathroom en suite with bath/WC and 2 balconies. A nice place to relax and take part in village life.It offers the unique combination of peace anong with modern comforts and easy access to city life."

Warm welcome from host, including lots of delicious fruits. Very clean and attractive home with stunning views. Charming tiny village with narrow streets and friendly locals, just say jasas! Conveniently situated for visiting Heraklion region.

We loved the peace and tranquility of staying in a beautiful villa located in the village of Anopoli

  • 5 of 5

The villa is beautiful, well equipped, artistically decorated, and thoughtfully designed. We stayed a week in Crete at this villa, and were grateful to have our own place to relax, do laundry, BBQ, have easy access to beaches to swim in, and to have a home base when exploring Crete. I love the mix of indoor and outdoor living experienced here. The villa has a front courtyard, a back patio, a terrace, and two balconies off the master bedroom. There were many places to relax. We enjoyed eating outside on the patio, drinking tea after dark from my balcony, and the gorgeous view from the terrace. A variety of birds chirp, call, sing, and coo, which is delightful and can be heard from anywhere outside. The village is full of friendly people, and has a corner store for convenience items. Manolis suggested many nice tavernas we were able to try, and let us know which local beaches were best for swimming. The Palace of Knossos was close by. It was lovely to visit. We also went to the other end of the island to visit Balos beach, and to Chania, which we loved. We had planned to do more, but just really enjoyed the villa so much, we just relaxed and enjoyed it. This villa in this tiny town offered a very authentic experience, that we were grateful to have enjoyed. I wish we could have stayed longer, and gotten to know the people who lived here.

LA MAISON DE VACANCES IDEALE !

  • 5 of 5

A truly beautiful home in a lovely location.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I are well traveled, often using VRBO locations to establish a home base from which to explore and enjoy various countries. This home was surely the loveliest and most comfortable that we have experienced. The architecture is dramatic, the décor is beautiful, and the amenities (balconies off all bedrooms, a gorgeous patio, an efficient modern kitchen) combine to make this an extraordinary place to stay.

We brought our daughter and her husband to Crete this trip, and had laid out various routes to explore museums and country sides. Crete is a lovely place, with friendly folk in every location we visited. No matter how far afield we went in a day, we looked forward to the return to this wonderful house, to enjoy relaxing with fine wine on the luxurious patio, and discuss our observations.

The house is located in a small village, but it is in easy distance from main roads and mid-size towns with plenty of fine restaurants, grocers, and bakeries. So it was easy to either have dinner at home or out depending on our mood. But the house certainly makes your mood a pleasant one.

I must also make note of the graciousness of the owner. He takes well deserved pride in his home, and good care of his visitors.

Excellent villa in a village

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely and comfortable villa. It is well equipped with beautiful outdoor spaces as well. Evi and Manolis were excellent and caring hosts who were most helpful in all things. The location is in a small village that is very convenient for all sightseeing without any of the touristic rush of people. The only two things I consel are 1. you will need a car and 2. follow Manolis' restaurant recommendations each of which served delicious and interesting food.

Gorgeous accomodation!

  • 5 of 5

Beautifully restored villa with all the amenities including a great outdoor patio and dining area. The views of the surrounding area are amazing from the balconies. House is large and very clean, and includes all the kitchen basics including various spices, oil, etc. We enjoyed many dinners on the patio surrounded by the well kept gardens.
