Our guest house is located within a few minutes’ walk from downtown Alpine where you will find a wonderful selection of restaurants and bars to enjoy after a long day out in the Big Bend Area. Alpine is the hub of The Big Bend, centrally located to many of the fantastic national and state parks in our area and other interesting attractions that we have including the McDonald Observatory.
Alpine boasts many activities to pass the time, the movie theater shows all the latest films or you could spend the afternoon walking through history at the Museum of the Big Bend located on the campus of Sul Ross University. Just behind the university is the best short hiking trail which will take you up to the top of the mountain providing breath taking views of alpine and the surrounding basin? See if you can find the famous writing desk hidden on top of the mountain.
In the months of May through July you can watch the 06 Cowboys Baseball team at the historic Kokernot Baseball Field.
The guest house has a slight rustic Spanish feel to it, with handmade furniture from Mexico throughout and Saltillo tile.
The cottage has one bedroom with a queen bed and more than ample storage for your vacation luggage, closet and two full size dressers.
The main living room has a queen sized futon with a very thick and comfortable mattress, perfect for the kids. We have Dish TV, Roku with netflix and high speed WIFI which is very reliable and fast, perfect for streaming movies.
On the other side of the living room you will find a nice dining area, perfect for those family meals.
The Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need for your stay and we also have recently installed a Eco friendly on-demand water heater and washer/dryer.
The Guest house has one bathroom with a full shower. We have created a comfortable seating area outside next to chimney, perfect for those cooler nights watching the stars with a fire and cocktails, even better on those warmer nights watching the incredible sunsets. The guest house is nonsmoking so please smoke outside.
Parking is located outside the guest house and is very secure with a private drive way.
We have two cruiser bikes for you to use during your stay, cruise around downtown alpine, ride to the bar or restaurant or check out the town. We do provide helmets and a lock.

We absolutely loved this house! It was super clean, comfortable, quiet and has all the amenities you could need. We took out the bikes one day and rode all over Alpine. We ran into Mark while we were out on the bikes and he immediately introduced himself and wanted to know if we had everything we needed and to please let him know if something wasn't to our liking. Carrie was equally as accommodating and came right over when we could not figure out how to turn on the t.v. She even brought us some delicious homemade coffee cake! Mark and Carrie are great hosts and their house is adorable. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
This is a very nice rental unit, didn't spend a lot of time there due to just a few days in the area and a very ambitious itinerary but the house was perfect for us(myself, husband and canine buddy) Very clean and spacious. would not be cramped even with a couple of more people) Would definitely stay again if we can return to the area. enclosed yard was nice for the dog,
Mark was a great host. The location was great. We loved the ample room to park, since we pulled a trailer with motorcycles.
We will definitely be staying here again soon. Love Alpine. Can't say enough about this great town.
The house was nice and clean, but upon entering the night of our arrival, there was a overwhelming pungent smell. At first, I thought the place had been bug bombed like immediately before our arrival. The second day we were gone all day and when we returned the smell was just as toxic. Then we thought that perhaps a rat had died in one of the walls, but when I opened the bathroom the smell was even worse. I finally decided that it was the toilet that was producing the smell.
Overall, the place is nice and clean. There was wine and coffee and the pillows and linens were nice. I would have given five stars, but I had to use my inhaler all 3 days and spray perfume so I could stand to be there. There is also a lovely little covered porch area and bikes. Please have the toilet checked because I spent a lot of money and was miserable. I really hate to give one star but honestly I was sick the whole time.
The vacation home was perfect in every way. We were close to everything that we needed. We will try our best to come back to Alpine and would love to stay here on our next trip to Big Bend
We loved out stay at the cottage. It was quiet clean and light with quality chattels and linens. Everything worked well and it was handy for everything in town as well as a scenic drive from Big Bend National Park. Our hosts were great, really helpful and friendly but left us to enjoy the property.
