My husband and I visited Duluth for a mini vacation. The apartment where we stayed was conveniently located to walk downtown to the boat harbor and shops. The inside of the apartment was decorated nicely and very clean. The other tenants in the apartment were quiet and we did not notice them at all. The owner had left bagels, cream cheese, apples and orange juice in the refrigerator for us. She also had many spices and other staples in a cabinet for our use. They brought over a space heater and a TV for our needs also and were available for any other help that we might have needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Minnesota.
Apartment was in a good location for our trip to Duluth. A grocery store was within walking distance -- and we found a good "Grilled Cheese Sandwitch Shop nearby up on 9th Street. We were able to enjoy some daily walks around the neighborhood. The owner had proved very good instructions in the apartment for anything we used. The two bedrooms were nicely laid out -- well decorated. I enjoyed sitting in the living room and reading.
My wife and I and our daughter stayed with us -- and it was nice to have two bedrooms that were separated by the living room. I could get up early and read a book or newspaper, take a shower and eat breakfast without disturbing my family-- one of the nice features of an apartment versus a hotel room. It was conveniently located as my mother lived near UMD and my sister in Lakeside and we visited a college friend over by Chester Bowl.
The Kitchen worked well for me to have an early morning breakfast while the rest of the family slept.
The owner had set up the kitchen with breakfast goodies, coffee, fruit, yogurt -- which was very nice -- eating breakfast in the apartment was one of reasons,we decided to rent an apartment when in Duluth visiting family. The local ground coffee was excellent.
When we had questions the owner was very quick to respond.
Stayed at this property for Grandma's marathon and it was PERFECT! It's close to the lakeshore and downtown area. The apartment itself is in great shape, with nice updates and decor throughout. The pictures do not do this home justice! It was a good size for 2 couples (4 people total) and the full kitchen was great for cooking meals!! The owners were super accommodating and quick to respond. I would definitely stay here again!
The owners have done an excellent job of creating a very comfortable apartment in an old building. The amenities and location were perfect for my particular needs. Having moved away from the North Shore some time ago, I simply needed a centrally located "home base" for a week in order to visit friends and family. This was an affordable option to a hotel or lakeshore cabin during high-rate tourist season. I would stay here again. (P. S. The fresh ground coffee and breakfast goodies in the fridge were a very welcome surprise!)
The property was lovely and it is near attractions in Duluth. The owners were super accommodating and kind. I highly recommend renting this property.
My wife and I had a great time staying in this 2-bedroom apartment in Duluth. When our short honeymoon plans fell through, the owner was willing to accommodate us last minute. There were awesome little touches to make it feel like home: apple cider, fresh strawberries, and bagels and cream cheese in the fridge as well as some cookie dough in the freezer. Lots of windows with natural light streaming in to the second floor. There are permanent tenants in the building but I don't think we even heard them come in or out. It was exactly what we were looking for, a quiet space to sleep, play cards, and cook so we didn't have to eat out every meal. It is also not far from Hwy 61 for those looking to do some hiking and sight-seeing along the North Shore like we did. Within just a mile or two of downtown and Canal Park; I would recommend a car only because the hills on the way back can make for a tiring walk.
Overall I would recommend this place again in a heartbeat.
