About Owner/Manager

This is the home I grew up in. My parents built this house in 1954-55. While it is an older home it has been well maintained. As a kid we raised beef cattle and grew tobacco and corn. As a kid I would hunt squirrels on this property and camp. It is a very special place to me and my brothers. I now live in Lexington, Kentucky and my brother and sister-in-law live close to this house.

Owner/Manager purchased this farmhouse in 1955

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our stay here was amazing. I had forgotten what quiet was until I sat on the front porch during a long steady rain...what a gift. Staying in the country is a rare pleasure and staying in this country exceeded all expectations.

Love the den and front porch the most.

Blessings to you,

So many ameneties

  • 4 of 5

This farm home is full of space for a family or group of friends to spread out and be comfortable. The setting is scenic, especially when you climb the back of the property and enjoy the views. The owners leave a lot of kitchen spices, etc. to help you avoid running to the store for a forgotten ingredient. Beds are very comfortable. We liked the new day bed this year. Owners easy to work with.

My husband and I stayed at this wonderful farm house for a week while we were doing some work on our property nearby. The home was spotless and just as pictured on the website.

We had to reschedule our trip several times due to health issues, and the Owners, The Buckles, were extremely accommodating!

We would recommend this property without hesitation and plan to recommend this home to our family to rent when they come and visit us later this fall!

Beautiful home nestled on a hill with awesome scenery all around

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was April 2016 and we just loved this home. This house is nestled on a hill and the scenery is panoramic. This home is so comfortable and cozy. From the well stocked kitchen for cooking, to the 2 living rooms for just having time to yourself was awesome. The bedrooms are just beautiful and the beds were so comfortable which gave us all the best sleep. Everything was clean, the flowers and plants in the yard were just coming into bloom and are just beautiful. The deck is a great place for early morning coffee and watching the sun come up over the hill behind the house (you don't want to miss that). There is a Church across the road and we enjoyed the Church chimes on Sunday morning. The homeowner even had a new grill brought over for us as the one they had was not working, that was so thoughtful. Elizabethton is a wonderful place to visit and the scenery on the drive to this house is phenomenal.

We will definitely stay here again. If you are looking for a place to just get away from it all, relax and enjoy your surroundings this is the home to go to.

Thank you to the Buckles for an awesome home away from home!

Nice place to stay

  • 4 of 5

3 women stayed here, each had their own room and bed. We used this clean home as base camp for the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesboro. A little far to travel back and forth but worth it for space, amenities of kitchen, and wonderful views from the hills above the house. Owner very easy to work with

My 2 weeks family vacation....

  • 5 of 5

This is truly a memory never forgotten. I was welcomed with a beautiful home, so comfortable. We felt at home. The acres where the home is on has so much gorgeous views, that me and my family will spend days hiking a bit and take so many pictures of the view all around us. At morning I would wake with my husband to have a cup of coffee just sitting out on the front porch & looking out to the mountains. The home was undoubtedly was so homey that there were days we just wanted to stay together at the house, I would cook, & we spend it watching TV or playing games. The people in the area were so nice, each time we went down the road neighbors would wave hello. My boys spent days with their father fishing trout, & eating it for dinner. I am so glad my family getaway was here. I especially appreciate the owner who opened his doors to his home & was always attentive that I was enjoying my stay & had everything I needed. I can't express how much me & my family enjoyed our stay. Hopefully in the future we can visit once again. Thank you again for everything.
