I have travelled widely in Morocco and because of this I decided to purchase a holiday home there. My friends and family have enjoyed many memorable holidays at the Jawhara Smir residence and it is ideal for families with young children.

I purchased this property in 2006 because it was near to several lovely sandy beaches and unspoilt scenery such as the lake at Kabila and the mountain backdrop.
I liked the fact that there were plenty of great things to do and see nearby such as the water park and two excellent marinas.
I was impressed with the fantastic selection of different restaurants all round the Marina and the fact that there is easily enough to do in the area for a fortnight's holiday.
It is an area that is hard to beat if you want a family beach-based holiday.
I like the layout of the Jawhara Smir development and the super-sized pool. I especially bought an apartment which enjoys one of the best views of the pool from the lounge balcony and both bedrooms. It also looks fantastic lit up at night.
Tangier and Tetouan are two of my favourite places and the unspoiled coastline of Northern Morocco and the proximity of the Spanish enclave of Ceuta and the port of Gibraltar make the area unique in the world.
I have always liked Morocco and its culture since visiting there as a child so buying a holiday home there was the realisation of a dream.
The modern features of the Jawhara Smir residence and wealth of amenities available combined with a unique setting gives instant appeal to the discerning holiday maker. The pool is fantastic for children and they will be amazed at the sheer size and unusual shape of the pool. There is a shallow end for the small children and it is easy to keep an eye on the little ones as they splash around in the sun. The residence is safe and secure and there is safe parking. The residence is in a unique position near to the beach, shops, restaurant and Marina. There is everything here fro a great family holiday. The apartment has one of the best views over the pool and you can sit on the balcony and take a leisurely drink as you sit on the patio furniture.

To keep it simple, DO NOT rent this appartment. Is it run by a local agency, that doesn't show any interest in the people who stay there. The appartment, the equipment in the appartment and the service from the agency is nothing compaired to how it looks and is offered on the HomeAway site. We had to deal with a broken microwave, a broken airconditioner, a broken tv, a broken wash machine (didn't dry spin), only 2 towels for a group of 4 and we had to hold the shower because the handle was broken. There are no means to clean up the appartment, and also no proper means to prepear food or make thea. We had dirty spoons and a tea cattle without a handle. The local agency took 3 days to send over 2 different mechanics who in the end only reported the issues we mentioned. And after only being there for 24 hours, we found human feces in front of our door. In the end we lost time taking care of stuff that should be a given when you rent an appartment and als lost time waiting for 2 mechanics. The agency didnt even knew we had to leave on the last day when we called them. All in all, we had a terrible time in the appartment and were happy we could leave. The country and the location is amazing, so please go there, BUT just DO NOT rent this place!
Total décompression dans un site idéal surtout pour une famille avec enfants (magnifique piscine) au pied de votre balcon et la méditerranée à quelques minutes (respectivement à 15-8 ou 5 suivant que vous êtes à pied, en vélo ou en voiture). L'appartement dispose du nécessaire pour un séjour agréable et calme et le personnel du complexe résidentiel (gardé et sécurisé) est joignable et disponible.
Casa bien amueblada y muy limpia. Faltan cosas elementales en el equipamiento como tendedero para la ropa, cubo de la basura. No había ni fregona ni escoba para barrer. Se nos facilitó en seguida al pedirla. La televisión tampoco funcionaba. El mantenimiento de los jardines y la piscina excelente. Un inconveniente es que para ir a la playa hay que cruzar una carretera de doble carril y luego atravesar una urbanización privada a riesgo de que el guarda no te deje pasar. En líneas generales bien.

Located on the coastal route between the Spanish enclave of Ceuta and M'Diq. Nearest airport is Tangier, which is a one and a half hour transfer along a beautiful coastal route (you can get there much faster by the inland route but it is not as scenic!) Follow directions for Marina Smir which is directly in front of the Jawhara Smir development. There is also the Barcelo Marina Smir hotel directly across the road which is a prominent landmark to remember. The apartment is located behind the area known as The golden Mile between the two marinas of Marina Smir and Kabila Marina. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty with The Rif Mountains and The Black Cape (Capo Negro)for a backdrop. The area is known as Tamuda Bay on the Costa Vista.
Access can also be made be via ferry from Spain for those not flying directly to Tangier. Pick-ups from the ferry terminals at Ceuta and Tangier can be arranged with the agency for a reasonable charge.
Hire a tour guide so the more inaccessible points of interest are not missed. And don't forget to haggle in the Medina for your purchases!
The region is packed with enough highlights to satisfy all the family for a holiday of a fortnight's duration. Family activities are plentiful in this area.
Various cuisines are available in the locality but fish restaurants are popular also Chinese and Italian food is available at the nearby marina.
Use of a personal tour guide can be arranged if required and advice on flights and travel arrangements can be given if needed. The two marinas at Marina and Kabila Smir offer a wealth of activities and you have the opportunity to discover many places of interest here.
There are also areas of outstanding natural beauty such as unspoilt coastline and a natural lake teeming with wildlife. Camel rides along the beach and trips to the ancient Medina and historical sites can be arranged at very reasonable cost with the on site agency who will endeavour to make your holiday a memorable one.
Specific requests concerning the hire of baby equipment and the supply of camp beds for extra occupants can be made directly with the owner. A cot, a high chair and camp beds are available to hire upon request from the agency but are not part of the apartment's standard equipment.
NB: There may also be a nominal charge in Dirhams for hire of sun loungers and parasols around the pool.
The summer months of July and August can be hot so remember to apply sun lotion when your skin is exposed whilst out walking as well as round the pool and on the beach.
