This 3 star single storey cottage nestled into the heart of the glorious south Shropshire countryside is located 6 miles South of Shrewsbury.
The cottage sleeps four people in comfort with beautiful views across fields and the Shropshire hills. It has it’s own outside space with table and chairs, use of owners garden and is equipped and furnished to a high standard. The cottage is available to rent for holidays and short breaks all year and is also available for longer breaks if required.
The cottage is an ideal base for walking and exploring the Shropshire countryside, being very centrally located within Shropshire, giving access to Shrewsbury (6 miles), Church Stretton and The Long Mynd (good for walking) 6 miles, Ludlow (20 miles), Wenlock Edge, Acton Burnell Castle, Bridgnorth, and Ironbridge.
Converted from a stable block 7 years ago, the single level cottage has two bedrooms. Bed 1 has a double bed, wardrobe, drawers and bedside tables with table lamps. Bed 2 has two single beds, with a chest of drawers and a bedside table. The bathroom has a full size bath with electric shower, wash basin, WC, and down-flow heater. There is a carpeted living area and dining area with a well-equipped kitchen with microwave, larder fridge (no ice box) washing machine, electric cooker, kettle, coffee maker and toaster. The kitchen has plenty of cupboard space and a tiled floor area.
The cottage is well equipped and has a digital TV, Radio player, hair dryer, Wi-Fi for access to the internet and electric convector heating. Bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided by the owners. A washing machine with ironing board and iron is provided in the cottage and there is parking for two cars directly outside the cottage.
Electricity is included from April to October and is charged by meter reading from November to March.
When you arrive, you will be greeted by the owners who will provide you with homemade cake and a supply of tea, sugar and milk. The owners live next door to the property and can help with any queries that you might have throughout your stay, and are happy to take two small pets.
There are three pubs and a Persian restaurant within 1 mile all serving good food and a host of other eating places and tea rooms within a short distance. There is a riding school approximately 1 mile away and an 18 hole Golf Course 1 miles away, and there are a number of newsagents, convenience stores, butchers and Post Offices in villages less than 1 miles away. We are around 6 miles south of the picturesque medieval town of Shrewsbury, famous for it’s black & white timber buildings with over 600 listed properties. The town has many picturesque cobbled streets and squares and is overflowing with interesting, independent shops that makes the town so special. There are a host of bars, restaurants, and coffee houses and you can enjoy a drink by the river, or relax on a river boat cruise from Victoria Quay.
Shropshire has many castles, stately homes with magnificent gardens around the county and the Welsh border is only a short journey away with Powis Castle a must see. Blists Hill and the Ironbridge Gorge Museums are world famous, and there are a number of NT houses including, Attingham Park, Benthall Hall and Dudmaston Hall within easy reach. If you are interested in steam trains then Bridgnorth is a must do place with The Severn Valley Railway or go to Welshpool and visit the narrow gauge railway.
