Luxurious, spacious and right in the middle of the city. PERFECT
We had a wonderful stay at No 21. A short 10 minute walk from the station with directions from the owner. Communications between us and Mairi Anne were great with all queries answered straight away including help about restaurants , Hogmanay and general enquires. The apartment was just as described and the photos more than do it justice. Furnishing and linens were top quality and the beds were so comfortable that we are determined to buy the same for home. Taxis, buses and trams are just a step away but hardly any noise can be heard from the street. Top quality shops just a stones throw, as was one of the best Christmas markets we have been to.
We stayed over the New Years Eve and after joining the crowds for the Street Party we watched the fireworks over the Castle from our lounge windows..PERFECT!.
The apartment was extremely clean, well kitted out and comfortable. Lots of local information available as well. There were plenty of games and books should you need as well.
Did we enjoy our stay? Absolutely and we have no hesitation in recommending this owner and her lovely apartment.
We hope to visit this wonderful city in the future and would love to stay at Number 21 again.
It was a pleasure having you all. Happy new year and we hope to meet you again one day. Best wishes
Wonderful stay in a simply stunning flat.
We had a wonderful stay in Edinburgh for 5 nights. The pictures do not do the flat justice., it is a lovely flat in a fabulous location. Everything about the apartment was top notch and the deco was tasteful. The owners were delightful to communicate and very responsive.
We were fortunate to beautiful weather while in Edinburgh extra bonus.
We flew into Glasgow better flight options took the airport bus to Queen Street station train to Edinburgh, quick walk up to flat.
Best of Edinburgh
The apartment was awesome. The description was right on. Clean, convenient and a real value. Mairi was most helpful and a pleasure to deal with. We have stayed at VRBO and Home Aways all over Europe and this was one of if not the best. We will schedule any return to Edinburgh around when we can return to this apartment.
Feels like home.
We feel very blessed to find this warm family friendly flat in Edinburgh. Mairi was an absolute pleasure to work with and we plan to visit her again in the near future.
21 Hanover has the bustling city outside its door but manages to offer such a peaceful warm environment inside that is very comfortable for a traveling family such as ours. This was out first trip to Edinburgh and this flat will be our choice in the future.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a kind review. You were a lovely family to deal with and we do hope you will come back and visit again. Best wishes to you all.

Spacious, Luxurious, Warm and perfectly located in Edinburgh
We had a perfect stay at this property. The photos don't really do it justice. It is very spacious and comfortable and is in the perfect location for visiting the city. We will be returning again.
Happy new year. Thank you for your kind words. We look forward to welcoming you back some time. Best wishes
Just two minutes walk from the flat is the National Gallery complex, with the Royal Scottish Academy and the National Gallery of Scotland built in the mid nineteenth century by the architect William Playfair, these two handsome buildings with their Doric columns dominate the foot of the Mound.
Edinburgh Castle dominates the city skyline and is a short walk from 21 Hanover Street. From Castlehill, the Royal Mile starts and continues down through the Old Town towards one of the Queen’s official residences in Scotland, the Palace of Holyroodhouse passing en route the High Kirk of St Giles and the Museum of Childhood. There are lots of interesting alleyways and buildings to explore.
Hanover Street is part of the New Town in Edinburgh, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, started in 1767 as a organized plan to build an new part of the city as the Old Town had become so congested. The streets and squares of Georgian architecture are more or less intact today. Charlotte Square is home to the Georgian House, a beautifully restored townhouse full of period furnishings of the late 18th and early 19th centuries and run by the National Trust for Scotland
The Royal Botanic Garden, down in Inverleith Row is a great place to spend a few hours strolling through the Palm houses and the beautifully landscaped gardens.
If the weather is cooperative, a fun way to spend the day is to join an open top bus tour – there are various companies operating services, all of which can be picked up from Waverley Bridge.
For a more personalized tour, why not book your very own tour guide – Afternoon Tea Tours Helen Fraser will do everything to make sure that your tour covers exactly what you want to see and ensures you will make the most of your time by meeting you at 21 Hanover Street.
Further afield, there are many bus tours to the Highlands and other parts of Scotland, which can easily be done in a day. Waverley Station is close to Hanover Street and from there, it is only 45 minutes on the train to Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city.
