About the property

Country cottage with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, private garden, gazebo and BBQ

The house stands between olive groves, woods and hills of lucchesia, in a natural setting in which people has not contaminated the surrounding environment. It was built in the eighteenth century in one of the most beautiful hilly areas of Lucca. The ancient structure is completely stone while the interior has tiled floors and ceilings with classic scantlings and mezzane.

The allocation of a court and an outdoor garden offers an opportunity to communion with the landscape in times of family life as lunch or in moments of relax. Because of its strategic location, the house is an ideal base to visit all Tuscany.

A real gem in the country!

  • 4 of 5

The Casa di Laino was just what we wanted for our stay in and around Lucca. We arrived in Florence after a long flight from the States tired and dazed. Though Massimo was out of town when we arrived he kept us informed the whole way. Massimo's sister Francesca met us in Lucca and led us to the "Casa" after helping us buy groceries as we were to tired to dine out. She was very gracious and helpful in situating us. We learned also the she owns an organic, biodynamic vinyard and winery a short distance from the Casa, Tenuta Mareli.

The Casa was just what we wanted. It is a well maintaned, rustic home with a lovely calming view and the only sounds were that natural sounds of the Tuscan countryside. The well paved very winding road up was not a problem and the trip to Lucca proper was less the 20 minutes.

If ever we return to Lucca, we will surely consider staying here again.

A perfect stay

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful stay we had at Casa di Laino! The house is a perfect, quiet, comfortable retreat after a day of seeing all there is nearby for daytrips. We visited Cinque Terre, Florence, Pisa, Carrara, and more, though strolling through the charming streets of Lucca was our favorite. It was wonderful to come home to Casa di Laino at the end of the day and wake up there at the beginning. It is quiet and clean and homey and surrounded by fruit and olives trees. Our children enjoyed the outdoors until we ate supper on the lovely, comfortable terrace with the birds singing all around. Barbara and Massimo are wonderful and welcoming and helpful. I wish we had had more time to just enjoy the house and its setting. We had a hard time leaving this home at the end of our week stay!

Lovely Setting and a Lovely Stay

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Casa di Laino, it is a short drive from Lucca but very private and quiet. The house has everything we needed for our stay, it is as described, a beautiful old home with modern conveniences. Barbara and Massimo advised about best days to do our touring, and we enjoyed a day in Florence (by train), and we drove one day each to Volterra and to Barga. As well as exploring Lucca itself for a few days. We also discovered some rustic trails to walk in the area. The area is so beautiful and we felt very welcome from our first day. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Loved Casa di Laino!

  • 5 of 5

This charming, restored old villa is a sweet respite in the Tuscan hills. The villa has been beautifully and tastefully furnished and equipped. Barbara and Massimo are a delightful young couple who cheerfully offer guidance and suggestions. There’s a covered outdoor space for eating and unwinding in a lush panorama of trees and greenery. There are farms in the area which produce excellent wine and olive oil and offer tours. I shall miss hearing the birds chirping and the soft rustle of trees. Casa di Laino is located near the city of Lucca, which is a treasure in itself of history, architecture, art, and outstanding restaurants.

Thanks Massimo and Barbara for a beautiful home. We enjoyed our stay here. Plenty of room, beautiful views of the country side. Close to Lucca, yet truly a countryside setting. The Tuscany countryside was awesome. Thanks once again for your hospitality and assistance when needed.

Wonderful VIlla in the Tuscan Countryside!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Casa di Laino for our honeymoon. It is on a very quiet and secluded road with a wonderful view. You feel out in the country but are still close the The City of Lucca which was an amazing city to visit with much history and art. Massimo and his family are wonderful hosts and make sure you have everything you need and want. It was a perfect experience in the Tuscany countryside.
