|Minimum Stay||7 nights|
Nestled into the hillside with panoramic views of the glorious Marche countryside, il Casale gives you total privacy to relax, soak up the sunshine, cool off in the pool and enjoy a drink to the accompaniment of cicadas.
Colmurano : Il Casale is ideally situated in the beautiful region of Le Marche.
Set among rolling hills and green valleys, it is just 3km from small hilltop town of Colmurano with its beautiful square and wonderful restaurant. As well as relaxing by the pool, you can plan day trips to the beaches on Italy's Adriatic coast, swim in the cool waters of Lake Fiastra, or go walking in the Sibilini National Park. There is even a ski resort in nearby Sarnano for winter visitors.
Outside Colmurano: 30 minutes by car and you can be in the mountains (Sarnano - thermal baths and skiing centre), or by the seaside (Civitanova- Conero Riviera). Also accessible are: Frasassi Caves, Recanati (native city of G. Leopardi), Macerata (Opera Festival), Loreto, Camerino, Assisi, Perugia, Roma.
We had a wonderful week at Il Casale. Nathan and Jan looked after us so well. Nothing was too much trouble ( we miss you guys!). The views are stunning and nothing beats a glass of cold local Rose looking out at the beautiful landscape.
I would recommend an SUV vehicle as roads are not Le Marche's strong point and we got caught out. Alternatively hire a Fiat Panda 4 x 4 as it is slightly higher up so the undercarriage of the car wont get scraped. It is what a lot of the locals drive. Bring lots of insect repellent as the mozzies in Italy are vicious.
It is a wonderful villa and the pool and garden are spectacular. Hopefully we will return!
Our third visit with family and friends Spring, Autumn and now Summer! Beautiful rugged countryside exquisite in Autumn. Casale is very comfortable and well appointed with a homely style in an excellent location. Impressive mountains, gorges, forests and lakes to explore in close proximity. Fabulous food in this area - eating out and produce available is great. Very warm people - the Marche folk are curious and welcoming - this doesn't feel touristy here. We are well looked after by the owners local rep - nothing is too much trouble. Shopping is interesting and convenient. In the very hot summer the pool is a delight but don't spend all your time there as there is so much to see and do locally and short drives easily reach a great variety of historical, cultural and natural treats. It is very peaceful and inspiring and we can't wait to return.
This was probably the best holiday experience I have had. The location was stunning, the accomodation excellent and the local Italian community fantastically welcoming.
The house is very well equipped with all modern appliances and the rooms very well looked after and clean. Overall superbly maintained.
The swimming pool was perfect and used every day.
Any requirements be they for information, help, or recommendations for good restaurants are well handled by the local house-keeper.
The local village of Colmurano is a classic peacefull sleepy hill town with a church, local pub and a few quirky shops. The closest supermarket is Tolentino about 6 miles drive away - this is also worth a site seeing day out.
Further afield there are medieval castles to be explored and a ruined Roman amphitheatre. 40 minutes drive takes you to Macerata where you can experience open air opera in the evening - truly wonderful.
There are a number of excellent restaurants in the local villages the most enjoyable of which is is in Columrano where Benzo offers very good local dishes at incredibly cheap prices. Well worth a visit..or two..or more!
Also further out there are the Sibilini mountains to explore and lakes located nearby.
I returend to this holiday home immediately the next year and will be re-booking as soon as I can. Couldnt fault it.
A wonderful house in pleasant landscape. Well equiped und very clean.
BUT farmers are working all night long and we could hardly sleep!!!
They worked very very loud on 10 nights during our 2-weeks vacation!!
Il Casale is located in the unspoilt region of Le Marche, bordering on Umbria and Tuscany. It is close to the picturesque village of Colmurano, where you can pick up basic groceries, enjoy a drink at the bar and sample the fabulous pizzas and local specialities—boar and truffles—or even join in with the many colourful festivals.
Set between the Adriatic coast which offers the best of Italian beach life—watersports, chic towns and seafront restaurants—and the rugged beauty of the Sibilini National Park. There is something for everyone: archaeological sites a plenty, nights at open-air operas and concerts, days out spent swimming and boating in a fresh water lake, not forgetting skiing in the winter months.
Golf: The beautiful Conero Golf Club is about an hour away.
Ski: The Sarnano resort is about 30 minutes away
