About the property

Million Dollar river views from the small, quaint cabin. River access from Beach

Located on upper Mirror Pond, Deschutes Cabin at Deschutes Dunes is on Bend's famous Deschutes River Trail (Pioneer Reach) and offers easy access to Drake Park which is only a couple blocks north (keep walking through Drake Park and in about 10 minutes you have arrived downtown). Two blocks south of Deschutes Dunes is Bend's newest river park, Miller's Landing. Continuing south you will cross the river and arrive at McKay Park. A little further down the trail you will find The Old Mill and Les Schwab Amphitheater.

Sunny porch looks out to the beautiful yard, beach and river. Sunny spot to kick back, put your feet in the sand...Adirondack chairs and chaise loungers for soaking up the sun. Outside BBQ, dining table and chairs...Amazing river views from the cabin and easy low bank river access to launch your kayak, canoe or SUP from the huge, park-like shared yard. We have a few canoes, plenty of float toys and several kayaks, including two kids kayak for our guests... Kick back and watch as floaters go by on the river...or get out there and join them. You will love the perfect location. Whether you head toward the many parks, downtown, the local pubs or Old Mill District, you will find yourself in the middle of it all.

The home is a block away from the Riverside Market and Pub; a short walk or a quick bike ride takes you to the breweries and restaurants of Galveston Avenue like 10 Barrel, Victorian Pantry, or downtown.

NEED MORE ROOM??? Check out our neighboring vacation rentals VRBO # 418729 and VRBO # 558060. Rent together or separately.

When flying into Central Oregon, use the Redmond Airport (RDM) which is about 25 minutes away in Redmond, Oregon. It is served by Alaska Airlines, United Airlines, American Airlines and Delta Airlines.

Why Tab Dahl 541-480-6986 chose Bend

The million dollar river view and fantastic location was the selling point!

What makes this cabin unique

The Deschutes river and iconic Drake Park make this property extra special. Bend's newest riverfront park Miller's Landing and Bend's latest "Whitewater Park" are just down the street. Columbia Park, a fun park for kid's and affectionately called 'Pirate Park' is just down the street and across the foot bridge. We love how close everything is to this home. This home is great for folks who are looking for that special location in Bend.

What a great little place!

We were very impressed at the location. We can walk to everything! Quiet location. I would only hesitate with ONE thing. There is not a super comfortable couch (if you want that). Everything else was perfect for us. We would return in a heartbeat!

Convenient, Scenic, Great Value

Cozy cabin on banks of Deschutes River. Very close to restaurants as well as outdoor recreation near Mt Bachelor. Cabin is well maintained and a great value for the price!

Very pleasant little cabin

  • 4 of 5

Overall loved this little place. Great location! Very comfortable bed, very clean!

The main feedback we wanted to give you guys was;

-Part of the corrugated cover over the back porch has come unfastened and whenever the wind would blow it would pop up then slam down really loudly. Scared me at first until we figured out what it was (figured you wouldn't have noticed if you haven't slept there)

-the kitchen cabinet doors on the right when you walk into the kitchen wouldn't close, maybe needs a new latch?

-Not that this is as easy to fix but the couch was really hard to sit on. Because it was that style of futon, as soon as two people tried to sit on it the cushion would slip forward and the couch would kinda come apart

Perfect, Even With the Massive Amounts of Snow!

  • 5 of 5

It truly was the perfect weekend for us. The cottage is absolutely simple, comfortable, and has just what 2 people need! Our favorite event? Sitting in front of the picture window, watching all of the wildlife in and around the river! River Otters, Canada Geese, song birds, and more! The cold weather required a good heating system. The wall unit delivered! Yeah, it's loud, but when the temp dropped to 9 degrees, we were fine!

The bed was comfy. The bathroom practical. The kitchen had what we needed! I0. It was quiet. With the record-breaking snow, we were thankful to have studded tires, high clearance, and adequate power to bust through the deep snow with our Jeep. It wasn't easy and parking on the street wasn't an option, so we had to remain determined to make it to the house parking area!

My only wish is that there were 2 chairs in the living room. I may just drop off a cute chair I have to share so that others can sit together to view the gorgeous river! Thank you so much to the owners for offering such a reasonably-priced vacation home!

Cute place on the Deschutes

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I and our dogs stayed here over the holiday. The place was bigger than the pictures made it look. It worked well for us and our two small dogs. Being right on the water was so peaceful and nice, even with 2 feet of snow! I would consider this place as a great option for the summer time. Only negatives were that the heater is very loud and it looks like in the summer there is only a window unit for AC. But, this place is really all about the outdoor living!

Bonuses: They have a BBQ and during the summer they have kayaks and SUP for you to use and you have a doc to jump right in!

Great little cabin on the water

  • 5 of 5

We pulled into Bend hours late because of a snowy pass, but it was great to walk into a warm inviting cabin. Great location. We were able to just walk along the river to downtown. In the morning the setting was gorgeous. Would definitely like to return...maybe in more appropriate weather for exploring. Thanks.
