My friends and I rented this house for the weekend and were overall very happy with the place. First of all, I have to agree with other reviews that the pictures don't do the house justice. It is a large, very open and spacious layout that is hard to capture in a photo. It was well stocked with towels, and well supplied with additional toiletries in case anyone forgot something. The appliances in the kitchen were restaurant-grade, and the set-up allowed for multiple people to cook at the same time, which was very convenient when we had our big 10-person dinner. There were a good amount of cooking utensils and cookware (the can openers were difficult to use, and we couldn't find any scissors, but everything else we needed seemed to be available).
Also, the views from the deck and from the loft were unbelievable.. the most perfect views of Autumn in the Adirondacks Region! The driveway was pretty steep and rocky, but my little Jetta was able to make it up just fine with a bit of maneuvering. There was more than enough room for multiple cars at the top of the driveway.
There were two grocery stores within a 5 minute drive and gas stations and other shops as well. The drive to Lake George Village was only around 15 minutes. (sidenote: Apparently, Lake George has a seasonal traffic police force, so at some point in the fall, they stop checking meters and you don't have to pay. We put several quarters in the meter before someone told us that they haven't checked meters since Labor Day... if you are parking in the village off-season, ask a local business if they are still checking meters!)
Glenda was very quick to respond to my inquiries before the stay. I was confused about the number of beds/sleeping arrangements in each room, and she wrote back quickly to clear that up for me. As it turns out, I only had 10 people, so sleeping arrangements weren't a problem, but it was helpful to know where we could have fit 17 people if need be. There were some plumbing issues from the loft area the night before we left (shower leaked a bit into one of the bedrooms, and clogged toilet caused a small leak into the kitchen area). We left a message with Glenda and the issues were not resolved during our stay, though we told her that the leak from the shower stopped and we just avoided using the upstairs toilet for our last morning, so hopefully they were resolved after we left! I think most of my friends would be happy to stay there again!
The house was awesome. It was private and the pictures didn't do the house justice. We loved the fire pit and Glenda and her husband were more than accommodating.
When we arrived, the first thing I did was check the grill to make sure that we had enough gas for the night. It didn't appear to be enough so I called Glenda and her husband came right away with another tank for us.
We appreciated Kent going out of his way to bring us a lot of firewood.
Thank for your wonderful hospitality, I look forward to staying at another one of your properties in the future.
Was very pleased to arrive and see that the picture was exactly how it looked in person. I would say the pictures of the inside do not do it justice. Everything about the house was perfect. Secluded with an awesome mountain view. When it says it sleeps 17, it means comfortably. Only one or two people in our group of fifteen had to share. Three bathrooms was definitely a plus. I do not have one complaint at all. Perfect for a bachelor party. Located a tad far from what we were looking to do, but 25 minutes wasn't all that bad.
Would definitely bring a truck, so getting up the driveway won't be a problem because it is tough.
The house itself and view were great. We had an issue with a leaky ceiling on our bed at 1am. The manager was very unconcerned about it and told us to move the bed. We were told someone would be by the next day to address the issue but we never saw anyone. We also ran out of toliet paper after being there for only 12 hours and it took quite some time for anyone to bring more. Unfortunetly, I can only give this property 3 stars due to mediocre customer service.
The house was perfect for a weekend getaway. About a 10 minute drive to downtown Lake George. House was as described in listing plus more. If you're looking for a place to stay with friends/family to relax, this is the place for you.
This place was fantastic. It was everything we imagined and more. Glenda was fantastic at answering our e-mails and providing us with everything we needed for the weekend. Perfect getaway.
