Unas vacaciones perfectas!!
Very nice place in the centre of Touristic City
We had a very nice stay. The big house is as showed in pictures : nice, clean and well fitted. The owner Nicolas is also nice. Peniscola is a beautiful place : lot of shops and pubs/restaurants and the sea every where...The only problem is with Parking : we can't drive in the old city and the park places nearby are not free and quite expensive.... We can park in the "new city" but it's very far from the place. We recommend this place for people who want to spend time in a touristic city and who likes seaside.
Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful towards us, introduced us to some neighbours, showed us around the house and recommended good restaurants to us. They are lovely people - enough said.
The house itself is a spacious and beatifully refurbished historic olive mill in the old town of peñiscola. It features an open living concept spanning over three floors with a rooftop terrace above. The interior has modern touch and is decorated with great attention to detail while honoring and playing with the historic dignity of the building. The living room on the ground floor stays cool during hot days and the rooftop terrace is perfect to catch some late sun and views at the sea. If you are travelling with more than two people and require some privacy, be aware that the only rooms with doors are the bathrooms - the two bedrooms are on different floors, but are only seperated by wide stairs.
The neighbourhood is quite lively, especially in the evenings. There are two bars right next to the front door and a lot of good restaurants within less than five minutes walking distance. There are also two small shops that sell local fruit and vegetables as well as some basic groceries just 50m away. While we enjoyed having a bar that serves an excellent selection of gins just at our doorstep, people with a light sleep or a higher need for quiet might have a hard time relaxing during weekends or main season.
There are two beaches in short walking distance, both being clean and well maintained. The village's centre with supermarkets, post office, bike rental and a lot of restaurants, ice cream shops, etc. is only a couple of minutes by foot as well. The old town, however, is right under your feet and there really is a lot to explore here - much more than in the centre.
Altogether i would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes to be in the middle of things.
