About Jonathan Willick
My wife and our family are Canadians living in San Diego and we bought this little place to have somewhere to go with the family to get away from the city and experience a bit of winter fun like skiing and sledding. We love heading up to Big Bear whenever we have a free weekend, its a great place to visit year round and has a lot of beautiful scenery and things to do.
Jonathan Willick purchased this Cabin in 2013
Why Jonathan Willick chose Moonridge
Quiet cozy place up the mountain, great location for a quiet stay in the woods away from it all. Also walkable to Bear Mountain ski resort for skiing/snowboarding or mountain biking. Great place to relax year round.
What makes this Cabin unique
The place is an easy walk to Bear Mountain for anyone wanting to ski, you can go back and forth or go home for lunch and it is convenient with small children. There is also a lot of mountain biking in the area during the summer months. The deck has a great view of the trees and is a relaxing place to kick back and relax.

Cozy cabin for a family
Spent a weekend here with the family. Had everything we needed. Kids loved the snow and were happy to find a sled.
Fully loaded with everything we needed. Very cute cabin. The pet friendly aspect was a huge bonus for us. Unbeatable location if you are heading to Bear Mountain.
Cozy and close to the slopes.
The owners were very communicative and warm hosts. I would recommend this cabin over a hotel any day. It's cozy and stocked with everything you need to enjoy a weekend of skiing at Big Bear Mountain.
Nice first stay in Big Bear Lake
Overall, we had a great first family trip to Big Bear at the cozy cabin. It was very rustic, which worked well for us, as that’s what we wanted for our first stay. We have 2 young kids, and they had a blast playing in the snow around the cabin! We had snowball fights and attempted to build a snowman (but the snow wasn’t very cooperative, haha). Our dog enjoyed digging in the snow, which was entertaining! We also really enjoyed having a cozy fire while having dinner. Something we did not realize, however— the traffic around Bear Mountain ski resort on the weekends can get really bad. We were stuck waiting in very long lines of traffic at times during the day, as we were out and about. Next time we will be staying someplace that’s not so close to Bear Mountain, as we’re more interested in playing in the snow and sledding, as opposed to snow sports like skiing/snowboarding. However, it was a terrific first-timer experience! We have to give a shout out to Dank Donuts in town... yummy!! Wi-fi worked perfectly at the cabin, which we appreciated. Thanks so much!
Thanks for your review, we're happy you enjoyed it up there it really is beautiful, we love making the trip. I just wanted to clarify a couple of things, the traffic is around the resort not our neighborhood, our cabin is in a very quiet peaceful area with a large wooded yard. Also the weekend you were visiting was a long weekend so there likely was heavier traffic than usual on the road going past the resort.
Cozy and perfect for our winter getaway!
Our family of 4 spent 4 nights at the cabin. It had everything to meet our needs and we loved the location, close to a lot of sledding spots for the kids and a was a quick jaunt to town. Kitchen was well-stocked and the wifi was good. We had no issues, and appreciated that the owner was easy to contact during our stay.
Exactly what I expected. We enjoyed our stay
