A Well Presented Cottage With 2 Double Rooms, Bathroom, Lounge And Kitchen

69 Backroad East is a lovingly restored fisherman's cottage, set over four floors. It's a wonderful home away from home. With sea views from the double room you can watch over the harbour, but you can also see as far as Clodgy and Man's Head! You are ideally situated for a stroll into town to all of the shops, pubs and restaurants, or to any of St Ives' amazing beaches. You can use Porthmeor and Porthgwidden beach as your back garden, just moments away.

Booking conditions apply. Availability summers months (April - October) Saturday to Saturday only. All other time short term and mid-week bookings available upon request

About Rob Fox

This cottage in 'down along' St.Ives was in the early part of the last century used to hang fishing nets. My family, Mother and Grandparents were St.Ives people, a fisherman's family who lived in and around the harbour, in fact my Gran actually lived opposite in Bethesda Hill. As a child I attended the St.Ives infants and junior schools (now the doctors surgery) in the Stennack, and I spent much of my childhood time playing on the island, the 'Foresands', 'Swidden' and 'Meor'. Obviously i was delighted in the opportunity arose in the 70's tp purchase this cottage in 'Downalong' St.Ives. My family and I have spent many happy times here and I sincerely hope you will enjoy your stay in the cottage, St.Ives and Cornwall.

Lovely property perfect location

The property is in the perfect location in St Ives to walk to the attractions, beaches, bars and restaurants. The property is as described, it has everything you need and is well maintained as you can see in the pictures. The owner Rob was so helpful calling me twice before arriving to discuss arrangements and advice on St Ives. We also had a welcome pack on arrival, nothing was too much trouble if we needed it to make our stay more pleasurable. I would definitely recommend this to friends. St Ives is such a lovely place and we stayed in the best location.

St. Ives is an ever changing combination of narrow cobbled streets winding their way between quiant fisherman's cottages, fascinating shops, craft markets. restaurants, museums and Cornish Inns.

St. Ives is regarded by many as the most picturesque resort in Cornwall, and much to offer all holidaymakers. Three excellent beaches with golden sands, a superb area for water sports. Also bowling, putting, fishing, boating, golf and many other activities. Not forgetting wonderful coastal walks and breathtaking scenery.

For those interested in art, St. Ives has a worldwide reputation, enhanced by the St. Ives Tate and many other galleries.

Whether you have your own car or using public transport St. Ives is an ideal base for exploring the West Cornwall peninsula. Take a trip to Lands End and explore some picturesque small fishing coves on the south coast such as Lamora and Cadgwith and explore the Minack Open Air Theatre at Porthcurno, then after taking in the sights, take the scenic North Coast Road back to St. Ives, passing through the former mining area of Pendeen and Botallack, or perhaps explore the little village of Zennor.
